Today's Lunch from michelin starred Indian restaurant @gymkhanalondon. This place gets booked up weeks and sometimes months in advance, so i took a day off to check out the lunch menu. 4 courses for £35. Totally stuffed. Gymkhana

Gymkhana was a good experience and some food items were really tasty as well. Loved their beet root pao and aloo chaat. The desserts were delicious too. Loved the kheer.

We were seated in the Vault dining area and the service was top notch. Vaibhav
was an amazing host and took great care of us and offered valuable recommendations too.
The quantity of the portions was also great. I did not expect the portions to be this bigat a Michelin restaurant, but was pleasantly surprised.

Why the 4 stars?

I was expecting a bit more visual appeal from both the food and drinks, especially considering the two-star rating. The plating felt quite ordinary to me.
Also, didn't feel value for money given their expensive prices.

Overall a good experience though and would recommend everyone to try once at least.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience! The food was simply amazing — every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The ambiance made the whole experience even better, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that felt both elegant and comfortable. What truly stood out was the service — the staff were attentive, friendly, and went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. A truly memorable dining experience that I’d love to repeat! A very special thank you to Kishor, who made our dining experience truly memorable and worth visiting the restaurant.

Exceptional Experience at Gymkhana – A Birthday to Remember

From the moment we walked into Gymkhana, the service was nothing short of impeccable. The team went above and beyond to make my birthday celebration truly unforgettable. Not only were we warmly welcomed, but we were also surprised with an upgrade to one of their stunning private dining vaults – an intimate, elegant space that made the evening feel even more special.

The hospitality didn’t stop there. The staff graciously brought out complimentary dishes to enhance our meal, each beautifully presented and bursting with flavour. The highlight was a decadent complimentary dessert that felt like the perfect final touch to an already extraordinary evening.

The food itself was outstanding – every course was a perfect balance of bold, authentic Indian flavours and refined presentation. From the spices to the textures, it was one of the best meals I’ve ever had, and a reminder of why Gymkhana is so highly regarded.

A heartfelt thank you to the team for creating such a memorable dining experience. It wasn’t just dinner – it was a celebration made truly special by thoughtful gestures, world-class service, and exceptional cuisine. We can’t wait to return!!

This was awhile back that we went and I hear they sadly now enforce a tasting menu! That alone has dropped my rating from a 5 to a 4 because that behavior forced you a certain direction and with a restaurant that services this range of items… I would have a hard time agreeing to a tasting menu. Especially since we went family style and paid significantly less for probably more food.

Food 5/5: Fantastic… on all my travels I have missed India, but I can’t imagine it gets better than this.

Service 5/5: Quick, attentive and friendly. Not strong with recommendations when we went, but we ended up ordering many items anyways.

Atmosphere 4/5: Beautiful and themed appropriately, but dark. I get that’s a thing with fine dining, but this was almost too dark.

I had the tasting menu with wine pairing  and absolutely loved the food — the chef is very smart, maintaining classic flavors in a modern atmosphere. The service was good, and the overall experience was impressive. Special thanks to the chef for personally managing my reservation, which made the visit even more memorable.
My only disappointment was with the wine pairing: the sommelier served all the wines already poured in glasses without showing the bottles, which felt below the standard expected from a two-Michelin-star restaurant
