Halal Joints takes your privacy very seriously. We do our best to collect as little identifying information as possible. Where we do collect data, it will always be with your explicit permission and for the sole purpose of improving your experience of Halal dining.

What we collect and why

• Account metadata: When you first use Halal Joints, an anonymous user account is created with a timestamp. This account is linked to your device. If you decide to register an account, we connect this anonymous user account to the details you provide during onboarding. This includes your city, preferred cuisines and physical location.
• Feature-specific data: When you create content that is part of the core experience of the app (eg. favourite a restaurant), that data is stored along with your user profile to serve it to you and others.
• Analytics and Errors: We collect anonymised information about the behaviour of app and website users, along with aggregated data about crashes. See third-party services for more information.

Data deleition

You have the ability to delete all data associated with your account from the Profile screen. This includes all information associated with your user profile, but excludes any support interactions, analytics and crash logs.

We also delete all inactive user profiles and accounts every three months to protect your privacy. In the event of your user profile being deleted, whether at your request or automatically by our system, some anonymous and aggregated data may remain. This anonymous and aggregated data can never be used to personally identify you.

If you would like to request deletion of you data, navigate to the Profile screen in the app and press the "Delete my data" button. Alternatively, you can email hello [at] halaljoints.com and include your email address. Email requests for data deletion may take up to seven days to process. In-app requests are processed immediately.

Questions and Feedback

This privacy policy might be changed or updated for clarity over time. Registered users will always be informed through the mobile app or by email on any changes to the Halal Joints privacy policy.
