Bala Baya Restaurant Bankside

Second visit to Bala Baya and it was as delicious as the first. The small plates are delicious, and manage to be both light and filling . The hummus breakfast was a favourite among my group, with creamy hummus, chick peas, and warm pita.

The mini mess aubergine dish had great flavour, especially from the sweet onions. Cocktails were well made, and our server was friendly and attentive, keeping a fresh water bottle on our table throughout and bringing a small extra on the house.

I strongly recommend this for anyone who likes mezzo food.

Outstanding sharing plates and creative flavour combinations! Clever and thoughtful approaches to classic dishes. My friend and I shared 2 small plates and 2 large plates. We thought the ceviche and the cauliflower were particularly stand-out dishes with creative textures and spices. I also really loved the feta + apricot starter, it was such a fun, fresh dish. Their house-made sodas were fantastic and perfect on a hot London afternoon, highly recommend the mango & coconut soda.

Underrated spot, will definitely be back!

Had a great evening here with friends. We ordered hummus, pita, nuts, bagel, cabbage, cauliflower, prawns, chicken, fish ceviche, as well as two desserts.

The small and medium dishes were all great. The desserts weren’t really to our taste.

It was a bit noisy and hot upstairs so we asked to be moved outside. Beware it if rains. Staff were all friendly and ready to look after you.

Came here for lunch with a coworker.

We got the chickpea hummus with pita 🫓. It was very tasty. Would add a little lemon to zest it up perfect as is.

My coworker got the cauliflower steak crumble, which he loved. Packs a punch in a small dish.

I had the Laffa Couture (grilled chicken) dish which was lovely. I would eat it again. If I could add extra pomegranate juice onto the dish...I would.

This restaurant offers great food and excellent service. We looked at a few restaurants on the same street & decided on this one based on the reviews.
We were warmly welcomed & were seated at a booth. The decor was elegant. The dishes are pricey but with the portion & service, it’s well worth it.

We ordered the mixed bbq plate & fish & chips. The meat was charred nicely and the cod fish was cooked perfectly. The fish portion is huge.

We couldn’t finish one of the plates and asked to have it to go & the server asked if I wanted more rice, so the cook added more rice in the container.

It was the end to a perfect meal.

Very tasty Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food but be advised, the prices are very high. Still, based on the location it probably is reasonable and the quality is not bad at all. Wide variety of food and good vegetarian options. The calamari was delicious, as well as the Iskander kebab. But the tzatziki was lacking in garlic

Nice restaurant situated in central London serving quality and delicious Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. Portion is generous and filling, atmosphere is comfy. A good place to have a meal with warm company.

After riding the London eye, we could find this place. We were warmly welcomed from the staffs, and we could get help from them.
The food was quite good, My family enjoyed the dinner.
I also liked the beer, Sharp’s Atlantic pale ale.

After working up an appetite on the London Eye we were ready for a feast and Troia certainly delivered! Everything we had was fantastic, from the mezze to the calamari, the falafel and I even tried chicken shawarma it was so good! We saved room for dessert so we could try the baklava which should not be skipped. Bathrooms were located upstairs and were very clean. Highly recommend Troia for large parties or small families like ours, exhausted and hungry after a day of sightseeing!

Everything on our menu is Halal. Alcohol is served.

We ordered the octopus balls to start, they were okay, nothing special. The premium platter was fantastic, took a little bit of waiting but it was definitely worth the wait!!! Didn’t finish it all but we were starving when we arrived so could definitely share between three people. Our favourite was definitely the crunch sushi but overall a really good variety. The location of the toilet was a bit strange, you have to walk through the middle of the kitchen to get to it. Blue light discount was much appreciated! Definitely recommend, we will be back!

First Japanese restaurant/takeaway that I've been to which is Halal! As part of their 2 for Tuesdays deal, I bought the Prawn Tempura Bao Buns and Classic Chicken Katsu with rice all under £10!

The Bao Buns were incredible, jam packed with flavour but not too heavy with the Buns - perfect balance!

Chicken Katsu with Rice was pretty good too, very flavourful with crispy katsu. Would have been nice with more veggies and a bit less rice. Overall it was a huge portion so definitely worth the price (for central London)

The restaurant itself a cozy spot but I bought my lunch online and collect it straightaway.  The staff were really quick and friendly.

I work down the road and love coming here for lunch. Food is always good and genuinely the staff are always nice. I do recommend!

Decent spot near Waterloo for a quick sushi fix. Fish was fresh and rolls were fine, but nothing wowed me.

Service was friendly enough, though a bit slow at times. Not bad if you’re nearby and hungry, but I’ve had more exciting sushi elsewhere. ★★★☆☆

Paradiso Burger & Cocktail Bar Southbank

We held our office summer party at Pardiso Burger & Cocktail Bar in South Bank, using the terrace and top floor private area, and had the best time! The setting was beautiful, overlooking the Thames, and the atmosphere was perfect for a celebration.

The staff were absolutely fantastic, friendly, attentive, and even went out of their way to take a group photo for us. The food and drinks were amazing, with great rates that made the whole experience even better.

Highly recommend this spot for any group event or casual night out. We’ll definitely be back!

We had an outside table, served by a very genial server Andrew V. He was so friendly.
I had the spinach, brie and apple salad. It was DELICIOUS!
The iced latte was good too.
We got a bottle of tap water for the table too.

This location seems to have placed "location" over  "quality" in terms of food offerings. Let's start with the basics:
1) All the chicken choices, while coated in a fabulous buttermilk batter, are dark meat. Perhaps this is the preferred cut of the chicken for the ethnic vibe this location is attempting to replicate, one quickly loses the flavour of the batter once eaten.
2) Timing: now this is a bit tricky to explain, but I'll try - the meal choices are what one would expect in a great location such as this...a bit on the high side, but within reason. What surprised me was how quickly the meals arrived at our table after our server took our order. Maybe some like this quick service, however for me, this mirrored closely to getting my order at a fast food location...it didn't match... hopefully, this makes sense 🤔

For all of the offerings available along the South Bank, I'll be taking a pass the next time around.

A rainy Sunday lunchtime.
We stopped in for lunch,we were seated quickly and found a menu on table opposite. We decided on burgers. I had truffle burger. It was very nice,came out in good time and was very tasty, the fries were also nice,had a diet coke for drink. It wasn't cheap, but it's the embankment so..... My wife had standard burger and again very nice,fries great and also diet coke. I do prefer coke zero,but was ok I guess. Service is 12.5%

Food was great, we got the bottomless brunch but ended up only having 4/5 drinks which we felt wasn’t entirely worth it :) definitely come here for the food! Staff were lovely.

Pabellon Venezuelan Food

Could you imagine not listening properly to the customer and the customer being berated for the owner’s lack of listening skills.
Completely got the order wrong and then raised his voice at me because he’s the manager!
Also he owes me money as my receipt indicates- because he gave me the incorrect food!

There are lots of food kiosks in this courtyard behind the Royal Festival Hall. Still Pabellon gets good reviews and I'd say that they are deserved as you'll pick up a solid meal from this stall.

The sweet potato tempura is perhaps the weakest part as ours were mostly crispy shell but the main meal of beef arepa was pretty spot on and tasty. It's a good spot for lunch here and diners are definitely spoilt for choice!

This Southbank venue is a must visit. The staff is lovely, has excellent recommendations, and lets you sample the fillings if you’re an indecisive doughnut like me.
The texture of these arepas is divine and the fillings are rich and flavourful. The sweet potato tempuras are light, fluffy, and  beautifully crispy. A perfect side for any arepa you’d choose.

Excellent Venezuelan vegan food market stall as part of Southbank Centre Food Market. I have first ever experience with Venezuelan food and it is one of the best I have ever had. Good portion, succulent and juicy taste, with an incredibly generous addition of cheese. Very nice service.

Excellent food perfect quantity and quality and welcoming service from Alejandra. You can buy anything to go and enjoy it nearby. If you considered it, take it, go and don’t hesitate, I assure you it is the right call. You can pay cash or card.

We stopped by Honest Burgers South Bank and had an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment we walked in, the service was incredible — quick, attentive, and very friendly. The staff made us feel welcome and really added to the whole atmosphere of the evening.

We started with a mint lemonade, and it was just great — refreshing, perfectly balanced, and the kind of drink you’d happily order again. Then came the wings, which were crispy, tender, and paired with sauces that took them to another level. Every bite had that perfect balance of flavor and spice.

Of course, the highlight was the burgers. They were cooked very nicely — juicy, flavorful, and exactly how a proper burger should be. The signature potatoes on the side were simply delicious, golden and crispy, the perfect match to the burgers. Altogether, the meal felt spot on: simple dishes, done perfectly.

Overall, Honest Burgers South Bank delivered both on food and on service. It’s rare to find a place where everything comes together so well — the atmosphere, the flavors, and the people. Without a doubt, it’s a spot I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting London.

I had an excellent experience at this Honest Burgers restaurant! The staff were incredibly professional, friendly, and welcoming. A special mention to Mr. Javier , Ms. Anna , and Mr. Matias, who went above and beyond to provide outstanding service throughout our visit.
The food was absolutely delicious – the Tribute burgers and halloumi were fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavour. Everything tasted so fresh and high quality.

Ate here after work last week. Have eaten at various Honest Burger branches, and generally always have a good experience.

The food here was great, as usual. Asked for the burger medium rare, and it came medium rare! 🎉

Food came out quickly, but the service was a bit frosty. I appreciate they were busy, but in other branches, the service has always been very friendly - which made this one stand out.

Sat outside which was lovely in the sun, but a little bit cramped.

First time in an Honest Burger and lucky to find a table for 3 even if we had to leave in 50 mns as reserved . . Service was excellent and quick . And burgers very delicious . Tried the mint lemonade which was tasty and delicious but a bit too sweet for me as have cut of sugar . Big enough to share really as burger is small compared to big drink  but perfect for us on this ocasion . My youngest who doesn’t like burgers ordered the chicken one and really enjoyed it .
The fries with herbs were just delicious and being a tourist the plugs to charge phones under table was a super plus for us as walking all day and using phone . I highly recommend the chain .

Had a great time at this spot! The burger was juicy and cooked well, with fresh toppings and a soft, toasted bun. The side salad was a nice surprise crispy greens topped with what looked like fried onions for an extra crunch. The onion rings were thick, golden and had a satisfying bite to them not greasy at all.

Staff was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. I’ve seen them around as a franchise and will definitely be visiting the one in my hometown.

All of the chicken in our restaurants is halal. If you would like to see our supplier’s halal certificate please ask your server when you arrive. Halal products are stored separately with strict processes in place to stop cross-contamination. Halal chicken items are handled with separate utensils and gloves. Fried halal chicken burgers and wings do not share fryers with any non-halal items. Grilled halal chicken breast burgers are cooked on a reserved area of the grill separated by a grill divider. We do not offer halal beef at any of our restaurants.

Shawarma Bros

I came here for lamb shawarma, but unfortunately, they weren’t serving it that day even though it’s listed on the menu. Ended up ordering the chicken instead, but it was disappointing — very oily and overly spicy. On the plus side, the cabbage inside added a nice crunch and flavor. Also worth noting: they don’t sell beef shawarma at all, which was a letdown.

This place was truly delicious and had great value for money. I was able to enjoy the food I wanted for lunch, dinner, and even late at night. The hygiene standards were excellent, and the food quality was outstanding — especially the lamb, which was incredibly tasty.
If it were near my house, I’d honestly eat here two to three times a week.

Nice place for shawarma, awesome simple menu doing what they do best. Hygiene is good for an outdoor place visible open kitchen in their unit.

Comparatively, On the pricier side for a place that has no indoor seating.

For years I have been trying to get my parents to try shawarma, and I finally got this to take the leap of faith in London of all places. Lucky for us, right next to Waterloo station, there is a very noticing Shawarma stand.

The stand is very small, but it is very clean. When you walk up to the window you can see the fresh ingredients and meats (lamb and chicken) that they carve up for your shawarmas. There are several shawarma menu items, and a handful of sides.

The attendants were helpful and friendly, but it was difficult to hear what they were saying (spoke softly).

I love shawarma and I've had so many different kinds and some in the Middle East. This one is very tasty and hearty. While it was nice that the shawarma was loaded with veggies, meats, and other components, I would have liked more of the sauce(s).

This is an easy meal to bring back to your place or to take with you on the go. Check out this stand when you get a chance!

Some tips:

Ask for the salt and vinegar for your fries. Also, if you don't love much spicy heat you can ask them for less of the chili sauce. There is no seating in the immediate area, but if you walk a few blocks you can enjoy your shawarma while sitting on a bench along the Thames.

Absolutely incredible. Yum yum yum. Can’t wait to try more of these dishes. We had chicken nachos, a chicken burrito and beef naked burrito.

You can choose the spice level too. And the staff were really friendly and attentive.

Ate at their truck at the Tower of London. Best chicken tacos we have had in a while. The brown sauce would make a napkin palatable!! Great spot any time of the day while sightseeing!

Today, I had a great quesadilla here at Hola Guacamole in Gabriel's wharf market. I was served by Marcela and her colleague, they're very friendly and I felt welcomed.  The food was delicious and I recommend this place to everyone!

3 tacos for 15 quid, I tried one chicken, one pork one beef,  it if I go back I’d just get 3 beef, the slow cooked beef is incredible! Chopped tomatoes very fresh and great guacamole!

The food was good, I ordered the beef quesadilla, and it was very very tasty. I would definitely go again when I’m back in London.

The service was amazing as the staff were very friendly.

I was visiting the hospital nearby and stopped by Las Iguanas at Royal Festival Hall for a meal. I was served by Tonia, who was so attentive, kind, and genuinely lovely – she really made a difference to my evening.

The restaurant itself had a calm and welcoming atmosphere, which was just what I needed after a stressful day. The food was delicious, and the service made the whole experience even better.

The name of our waiter was FADI and he was amazing. He gave the kids riddle to keep them busy and kept coming to see if we are ok. also help us with the free kids eat kids eats free voucher that was on the website. We enjoyed our visit love from Dublin.

Excellent service that we received, thank you. I wasn’t impressed with the vegetarian option, however the cocktails made for it! It’s great location near the underground, but the trains crossing right next to you if you sit outside kind of ruined all. Overall service matters to me and I was very happy.

We popped into Las Iguanas after a disappointing experience nearby, and what a complete 180 it was. From the moment we arrived, the staff couldn’t have been more helpful or accommodating. We were a group of six adults, a toddler, and two prams with newborns—and every single team member made us feel genuinely welcome.

Special shoutout to Toina who was absolutely brilliant: friendly, funny, and fantastic with our toddler and also helping to destress some frazzled parents! She brought such warmth to the table and made the whole experience feel personal and relaxed. The restaurant had a lovely buzz—busy, lively, but still easy to chat and connect. The layout was perfect, and we never felt crammed or rushed.
Our food arrived in great time, tasted delicious, and paired perfectly with the 2-for-£15 cocktails, which were an absolute treat. We also had a great chat with the manager, sharing how refreshing it was to be in a space that truly understood and embraced family groups. It was clear that inclusivity and genuine hospitality were part of the culture here.

If you have young kids, or you’re dining with a larger group, I highly recommend Las Iguanas Southbank. Warm staff, great atmosphere, delicious food—what more could you want? We’ll absolutely be returning.

Team were very friendly. The quality of food and drink was amazing. The cocktails were the best cocktails I have had in ages. The food was tasty and the service was extremely speedy.

Nice restaurant with a large variety. Food was very tasty and the staff all professional and polite. A bit more expensive than other Turkish places but cannot complain about the quality.

What a lovely surprise this Turkish restaurant is! I stumbled upon it by chance, and I was utterly impressed by the quality of food and the kindness of its staff. Special mention to Fayzullo, who helped me select one of the most delicious Karisik Izgara I've ever had! The calamari are also worth trying - generous portions at a great price. Thank you for a wonderful experience; I'll definitely be back with friends and family!

A roomy attractive Turkish restaurant on a lovely corner. We've come every time we visit London and the food is always delicious, the portions generous,service charming and the prices, tolerable. The house Turkish white wine was crisp and floral.  One starter, one main and basmati rice were more than the two of us could finish. But we still had the fine baklava.

Went to dinner there Saturday 26/7 for our anniversary, the staff and service was amazing, they gave us complimentary glass of Prosecco , food was fresh and tasted great , see photo of the Renk Meze, thank you we will be back

Honest Burgers Waterloo

Overall the food is good and the atmosphere is young and cool. There's music in the background and the service is always available and friendly.
The hamburger dishes are pretty good and there are some interesting options.
On the down side the hamburgers are not very big and might not be enough if you're a big eater. Furthermore the rosemary salted fries are a nice touch but they were way too salty for my taste.

Best burger for a very long Time. I tried The Waterloo burger and I can recommend it. I ordered The burger "rare" which usually means medium, but to my surprise I got what i ordered and it was excellent.
This is not a fancy place by no means, but it focus on serving Great food and does so very well. .
The people working there seems quite happy about it and it shows in The service.

The staff at Honest Burger were really friendly and welcoming, which I really appreciated. The overall atmosphere was nice. As for the food, it was okay — the burgers were decent but nothing special. Tasted pretty average to me, not a standout experience. Still, not a bad spot if you're in the area and craving a quick bite.

We ordered uber eats from here and it was incredible, so glad we chose Honest Burgers and we will definitely either order from them again or visit the restaurant itself.

The order arrived quickly and was hot and presented well. The chips are genuinely delicious and they had tasty vegan options available on the menu, as well as an easily accessible allergen menu online.

The portion sizes are generous and I would describe this as real comfort type food.

I love Honest  burgers! As a coeliac, I feel I can trust their food. I absolutely love the chips, and it’s good to know they’re fried in oil that hasn’t had gluten in it. On this visit, I had the Southern Fritter which had a nice bit of spice to it, I’d definitely have it again. I also had the green salad which was lovely. The staff are always attentive and professional.
