Bala Baya Restaurant Bankside

Absolutely brilliant food - a taste sensation. Lots of natural light and green plants create a fresh atmosphere. Cocktails were well made,  not too syrupy or diluted.

Blown away with the food. As a vegetarian I was truly spoilt with choices.
What we thought would be a simple carrot side was a spectacular layered and textured dish, colourful carrots cooked to perfection with crispy tofu and a lush sauce. Hot potato was cordion layered potatoes in a rich but not heavy sauce.

Black forest is my favourite and dessert didn't disappoint. Light chocolate sponge drizzled in chocolate and deep cherry sauce.

Service matched the quality of food. Cannot wait to return and try other dishes and brunch menu.

Wonderful dinner at Bala Baya! Not only was the place beautifully decorated and modern, the food was insane! I’m a big mediterranean food fan and this was definitely on my top 3 of London! Definitely on the pricier side, but would recommend for a date night!

We got their hummus topped with meat, and aubergine dip! Both were sensational!
We also got their chicken and roasted cauliflower! Everything was a 10/10! Perfect pairings and interesting flavors.

We dined at Bala Baya as a group of four and tried a variety of dishes. My favorites were the aubergine mess, brisket doughnuts, and hummus so good that we ordered the latter two twice! The hot potato was tasty but small, the cauliflower steak was as good as cauliflower can be, and the kebab dumplings had a bit too much cumin for our liking. Service was excellent despite a delay in getting our table, the staff was so kind and helpful.
Overall the food was delicious, the atmosphere was great.

The Flavours was really good despite both my Prawn and Cauliflower dishes yogurt sauces looks similar but completely different. I like the complex and complimentary flavours for the Prawns.  Only the prawn head was bit darker indicates freshness but thank god they taste amazing.  I order the Mix  Salad but came the cauliflower but no regards 😋😋😋

Food was delicious, especially the sauces. Many vegan options clearly labeled. Service was a bit slow, the dishes would take quite a long time to arrive. But worth it and it’s great to be able to pay with Yums from TheFork!

I love Honest Burgers 🍔  I had the local special and it was really tasty. The beef and bacon gravy was delicious and the fries are really great! The service was good. The only let down was the male member of staff coming out of the toilet cubicle and straight into serving food without washing his hands 🤮

Came for lunch with my son, who loves a good burger. This is his review…. Excellent burger, where the salad and filling don’t come out, the bun doesn’t go soggy or too squishy and I was able to finish it with nothing left dripping on the plate. Very good crispy, flavourful rosemary chips. Lovely light homemade lemonade.

Really great place to eat after a long day of walking. Staff is super friendly and food is amazing. Portion was a little big but that's nothing to complain about. Will definitely come back at some point :)

I just love this place so much! It's my favourite burger joint in all of London not only for the food (which is always amazing) but the staff too who are incredibly welcoming, friendly and brilliant at making sure you have a great experience. It's no surprise I've been going here every week for over a year

All of the chicken in our restaurants is halal. If you would like to see our supplier’s halal certificate please ask your server when you arrive. Halal products are stored separately with strict processes in place to stop cross-contamination. Halal chicken items are handled with separate utensils and gloves. Fried halal chicken burgers and wings do not share fryers with any non-halal items. Grilled halal chicken breast burgers are cooked on a reserved area of the grill separated by a grill divider. We do not offer halal beef at any of our restaurants.

Super friendly staff! I tried the lamb and mixed shawarma. Decent sized portions that was actually worth the price - definitely recommend!

We ordered mix Chicken and Lamb Shawarma with garlic and chilli sauce.  The Shawarma was tasty however the Lamb was very dry and hard, which let it down.  The staff are super friendly.

You won't by disappointed by the service, the sensational taste, or the excellent quality of ingredients that these boys provide. 5 stars. 10 out of 10, would eat AGAIN.

Tasty food, very reasonable on prices. Definitely great for a quick pick-up and go takeaway.

Honest Burgers Waterloo

First time coming here, picked this location as it's not far from my house. Amazing food. The Burgers were fantastic, really well made and presented nicely. The chips were really nice, but could have been a little better, but don't get me wrong, they were great. The service was wonderful. I always like to mention in my reviews when we have warm, welcoming and friendly staff at places we go to and they were lovely. Awesome service, along with the awesome food. They also did a 'Cook For the Ukraine' fundraise as well, I was happy to support. As for the location, it's a little small, but that's okay.. In this case the tables felt like they were just a bit to close together and it got very laud and busy in there. They don't take bookings, so if you want and can, go early or be willing to wait, but shouldn't be for too long. Over all, this was a really nice meal out and great experience, I would be happy to come back again soon for sure. Really enjoyed!

Amazing, tiny, homey burger place. Staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. The place is small but it wasn’t busy so we were able to sit where we wanted and enjoy our meal. Will visit again.

Like all Honest Burgers, this branch continues to spread the great Honest taste and hospitality. Waiting staff are friendly and knowledgeable of their menu. Polite and helpful too. The food can get messy, but sometimes that's what you want in a great burger. The fries and drinks are great too. Rarely busy for lunch bit don't take that for granted.

Nice relaxed kitchen diner. Burger was juicy, and delicious. Chips were good but slightly over seasoned with rosemary. The onion rings were huge but had too much batter and possibly rosemary. Waiting member of staff was friendly, helpful and efficient.

Seriously honest, no problem choosing what to have! and quite cool.

Pabellon Venezuelan Food

My first experience with Venezuelan cuisine and it was AMAZING! Tried their chicken arepa - freshly baked corn bread buns filled with a generous stuffing of slow-cooked spicy chicken along with avocado, tomato, onion, and cheese. An absolute flavor bomb. With a side of crispy sweet potato fries that are to die for! Definitely coming back for more.

The food here is refreshing. They have great vegan options and the staff are helpful.

I ordered the vegan Arepa with sweet potato fries. The fries were too salty but the Arepa is beautifully made.  There is a wonderful balance of both sweet and savoury flavours. This place is definetly worth a try.

Absolutely delicious food. Had the chicken pabellon, with garlic and spicy guasacaca! Loved every bite - just wish there had been more fried plantain! If there was an option to add more, I would have totally bought it as an add-on. Thanks @pabellonvenezuelanfood !

My first time eating a venezuelan food. I tried the chicken pabellon and it was really delicious, loved every bite. In addition, it was not so expensive and the stuff was nice.

This stall of Venezuelan food is a real example of the most typical Venezuela dish: the arepa.

The taste is exactly as it would be if you were in Latin America.  The service is extremely good, always with a smile in their face.

The fillings offered were a combination of new and old, but in all cases, the portions were very generous.

If you'd like to feel like in Venezuela for a few minutes, go and visit them. Highly recommended.

I happened to pass by this place on Lower Marsh and saw that they were doing a 30% off since they just opened and decided to try it and I’m very glad I did.

The Katsu Curry was the best I’ve ever tried and I’ll be sure to come again, especially with the £7.99 lunch special for hot meals.

I really liked the Salmon Poke bowl and salmon hosomaki. Sonny was a great owner and super passionate about this business.

On the special request. Staff made such a lovely lunch for us. The store was fabulous. It’s new and elegant store. I am really amazed by the service. Everything was perfect. The taste is really yummy. I am a #FanOfSushiCo now.

Recommended by my colleague to try newly open branch. I must say amazing service. Best service given by staff. It was busy and food was quick so no wait time. I have ordered and received my lunch in less than 15 minute. I really enjoyed Kastu curry . I am coming again soon to try new dishes. Please visit and try I am sure you will be amazed too by the service and food.

We are from USA and visited this restaurant for lunch during our tour around the city. This was a great experience and choice, as there are many restaurants to choose from in the area.

It has a nice ambience and a wonderful staff. They were very accommodating and friendly. The owner actually greeted us. It was also clean and welcoming.

The food was amazing. I’ve tried many sushi restaurants back in the states. This one, rates at the top of my favorite. The many choices and freshness, is persuading enough for us to return on our next visit to London. I am very happy with this experience. Thank you.

Minimal-waste menu revolving around chicken

Marsha (Gabriel's Wharf)

I highly recommend trying out the Half Chicken with their house rub. The meat was tender and well-seasoned (not too salty). The Cheese Truffle fries were excellent. The Cabbage had some interesting flavors. All portions were generous as well. However, the staff were not as reactive as we had hoped for and the environment is quite loud for conversations to happen.

High welfare chicken, every part of the chicken is used to ensure no wastage, this really sold it to me! Everything that came out was delicious and very well cooked. We had the loveliest service to go with all the delicious food too.

My favourites and must orders are the buttermilk thigh burger, mac n cheese, chips with truffle mayo + cheese and the crispy chicken skin!

My favourites on the menu at Marsha are the half chicken and the tenders with black truffle mayo... and oh my god. Those cheesy truffle fries! To die for!

I love the interior at Marsha, also a gorgeous place to sit outside when it's sunny. Great to also sit for a coffee if you're not eating. The coffee is gorgeous, they have a proper coffee machine.

My favourite thing about Marsha is the staff, who are so wonderful and accomodating. I have been living in London a year and a half, and I have never experienced such friendly and helpful staff anywhere.

Lovely location, we came as a sign outside advertised Happy Hour cocktails from 4-7pm. Once inside we discovered this is only on Weekdays and our visit was on a Weekend.
They'd got us inside by then so figured we'd stay all the same. We pulled our face a little at the 12.5% service charge as advertised on the menu, but it's a nice place so again, whatever, it is what it is.
We ordered and had a carafe of water placed on our table.
Time for the bill and a £1 charge had been added for the water. At no point were we consulted about this. After a look online the website says there is a "voluntary" charge. Nothing about it being placed on our bill without consultation made this voluntary. Our expected £15 happy hour drinks became a £25 bill!
Lots of "small print" they hope to catch you out on. The location is great but for what it's worth, there are far nicer and better places in the local area to go to. I just wish we had!

The chicken burger is not impressive - pretty basic. The chicken liver dish is creative but still the flavour is just okay. But the location is definitely amazing and the river side vibe makes the experience great.

Great pizza and super tasty truffle mayo dip!! Also, Peter was great! He welcomed us very kindly, although the menu is quite simple he took the time to explain it and did some great recommendations and he look after us during our meal, great hospitality! Thanks again Peter! Would recommend.

Thank you so much to our waitress. She really made our night special, she was incredibly attentive and went out of her way to make sure we were having a lovely time. The pizza 🍕 was delicious 🤤 atmosphere and staff are wonderful!

Leo and Peter were amazing! So positive and lovely and helpful. Knew the products well, made excellent, informed suggestions and kept a smile on even though it was late and we were a largish group. Very happy and grateful for their attentions. Thanks both!

This place is great! The outside area is really spacious with umbrellas so there is plenty of space to sit outside. Will be nice to visit again when we can sit inside because it has really cool arcade games and nice seating. Pizza is really good and is available as a massive slice or a metre of pizza! Available to sit in or take away. Staff were great and toilets were clean.

Was looking for a quick bite and came across this place. Was served instantly by a really nice and caring serve called Monica. She served me fast and the pizza was surprisingly good. I would definitely go back again whenever I have the chance!

Loved the food and the staff was so nice and friendly. My boyfriend who’s British had never had Mexican food and I, as an American that lives in an area where the most common food is Mexican it was nice to share that experience with him. He loved it. I honestly think that the way the lady prepared the food was way better than what I’ve had back in the states. It’s a small location but take a chance and try their food. I know I’ll go back on my next trip.

I’ve been there already twice, I’ve tried the chicken burrito and the lazy beef burrito (in the photo), and they were both amazing! Full of flavour, filling and not too spicy (you can adjust the level yourself by asking mild or spicy). Will definitely be back for some more dishes to try ☺️

Try it last weekend, we had tacos, quesadillas and nachos, some was with meat and some was vegetarian. Every thing we had tasted really good the food was delicious specially the nachos, staff was nice even it was very busy. The only reason giving it 4 stars is some of the food options was run out and we were queuing for almost 20 minutes but no one from the staff tell the customer that the chicken options was sold out. I will eat there again.

I come here almost weekly as I just work round the corner. 

I'd say that I've been to a good share of varied restaurants in London, so I don't say this lightly: numnum is the best restaurant in London right now. 

I've been trying to find better, but the chef's, owner and waitress make this a hard place to beat. Combination of great dishes, great service and great vibes make you want to keep coming again and again.

Quick, healthy, good value option for lunch. I had rice noodles with tofu and mushroom, all the veg toppings, and green sauce plus a little vinaigrette. It was super fresh and bright, and a ton of food. The tofu and mushroom is ground up like mincemeat, which I really like. The green sauce is tasty but not at all spicy :-) very good for the price--will definitely return.

Loved it. Superb wonton noodle soup. The dumplings are amazing and the bone marrow fried rice is stunning. Can't wait to go back

Have come here quite a few times, super great value - really good price and great serving sizes!! The staff are always really friendly too. The food is good, casual chinese-fusion. I’ve tried quite a lot of the menu, it’s all tasty but probably a little too flavoursome for my liking. Pork Belly could be cooked a little more so the fat melts instead of being chewy and the bone marrow rice is tasty, but oily. The fave dish for me is probably the green curry chicken (not very authentic but I like it anyway!) and the wonton soup, which tastes authentic and has a really clean broth and good bite to the noodles - I just don’t have the photo of either dishes.

Very good roasted chicken, crispy skin and juicy meat, guilty free as well ( comparing to fried chicken), strongly recommend this dish! 
Salad is good, the black fungus is better than I thought.

We had dinner for two here and were positively surprised. The place is in a very busy and touristy location, and that's not always positive. We walked in and had a lovely table for two outside. The wines by the glass were delicious, and we had nachos as a starter to share and two fajita's as main, one chicken and one vegetarian. The food was delicious and portions are generous. The service was very friendly and prompt, even though the restaurant was full. We were positively surprised and would come back, so recommended!

Enjoyed our dinner here on Friday night the restaurant was very busy, we had booked. Got there just before 7 so managed to order a couple of cocktails on the happy hour 241 offer which were really good. Great choice of food and good kids menu. Good service after an initial wait for our drinks, the bar was understandably very busy due to it being happy hour. Would return, very convenient if staying near Waterloo.

Having been to Las Iguanas in Birmingham I had high expectations, but our family meal was a disaster. They didn't have any of the meals we picked from the menu. Out of the 9 main courses in the kids menu they only had 2! They didn't even have the ice lolly dessert the kids were looking forward to. My husband and I wanted a chicken  and beef burrito, but they weren't available either! I couldn't even have the mock tail I picked, because (guess what!) They didn't have it! The toilets were absolutely disgusting too.

Great food and great service! A good selection of starters and mains, with lots of vegetarian options. The team were very helpful, quick with drinks orders and very knowledgeable on the dishes and happy to accommodate any amends. A great location too with great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!

Had a lovely brunch here with the girls. Good food. Plenty of great cocktails and for £35 it was well worth it! We weren't rushed after the 90 minutes and our waiter was very accommodating.

Great food & service. Due to pandemic limited veggie options in a lot of restaurants however there were plenty of options here! I went with halloumi and potatoes and did not regret it. Delicious! My partner had the lamb kebab and also really enjoyed it. Reasonable price for a restaurant in London and lovely atmosphere eating on the front porch. Would highly recommend!

Best vegetarian meal ever! Usually have to have veggie pizza but here there were a number of choices. Bearing in mind they had a reduced menu after reopening following Covid, I chose potatoes with halloumi. It was amazing! Simple but really tasty! Wish we had found this place earlier than on our last night before going home.

My family ate here a few years ago when we visited London and stayed at the Marriott around the corner. We had a large party and arrived shortly before closing, but everyone at the restaurant was very hospitable and welcoming. All of the food we had was absolutely delicious. We couldn’t get enough so we came back the next day. I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Refurbished just under a year ago the decor now matches the food as first rate dining! Very authentic food with a great menu with a varied selection  and something for everyone! Good veggie selections as well as classic kebabs! The staff were amazing and their friendly smile and attentive service topped off the whole experience!

Tasty mixed grill kebab, lovely moussaka, friendly service, clean toilets, desserts were good (not the best baklava but tasty)

Everything on our menu is Halal. Alcohol is served.

Wonderful Anatolian restaurant in Southwark. Friendly staff were able to accommodate our request to be as close to outdoor as possible given that it was such a warm evening. The Vegan Mezze was delicious and I'm told (by my fellow diners) that the lamb was so tender. My niece's 10 Yr old said that the humus was the best she'd ever had! She also wanted me to mention that the toilets were immaculate. All in all a lovely evening. Thank you.

Brilliant place to watch football with a fantastic projector, good beer and great food. One downside is that it is a bit pricey

Good to see they are back. Yummy as ever and very good social distancing measures in place at the cafe and the restaurant.

I give it two star for the decoration and some of the food is delicious.

This was a great venue for our office lunch. Roomy, excellent feel to it - could almost have been on holiday! Food was very good and they managed our booking of about 20 people really well. Very friendly and attentive staff. It was also really handy that there was an interconnecting bar next door (I think these are all built into railway arches) If you are in the area and looking for a classy venue for your meal  Ev is definitely worth checking out.

Tas Restaurant

Delicious, authentic Turkish dishes, friendly service, relaxed ambience and all round enjoyable experience. Will definitely return!

Tas is a very nice restaurant with typical delicious Turkish dishes. They have reduced their menu slightly due to Covid 19, but there are still plenty of dishes to cover all tastes. The prices are reasonable.
The social distancing is also catered for and you can sit inside or outside.
I can recommend a visit if you have not been before.

Food is yummy. Plenty of options to choose from although majority are lamb dishes. Staff were very lovely. Thank you for a fab evening ❤️

Chain but food was generally good and service efficient now.  Lots of tables so a place to go to on the cut if it is last minute.  Calamari could do without having sauce already on it, ruined as a result.  Decent value for money so would go again depending on circumstances.
