Honest Burgers Southbank

I ordered my burger by pointing at the chalkboard drawing of the South Bank burger, the one showing a tall patty and labelled “honest burger.” I also specified that I wanted it medium rare. What I received was a smash burger. I questioned it immediately because I had never ordered a smash, and the waiter claimed that the item “comes in two types” and that the default is smash unless stated otherwise. This was never mentioned to me at any point, and the fact that I asked for doneness should have made it obvious that I expected a regular patty. Smash burgers don’t have doneness options at all, and you cannot serve them medium rare. If anything, my only mistake was trusting the chalkboard instead of reading the full menu. But I honestly find it absurd that a customer is expected to anticipate this level of inconsistency and fine print, instead of the staff clearly explaining how things work and warning about the kind of confusion that is obviously possible. Instead of acknowledging the issue, the waiter insisted the problem was mine and basically pushed the burger on me. I accepted it because arguing any further was pointless and I wasn’t going to create a scene. The whole interaction felt unprofessional and dismissive, and it completely ruined the experience. I’m definitely not coming back.

I had an excellent experience at this Honest Burgers restaurant! The staff were incredibly professional, friendly, and welcoming. A special mention to Mr. Javier , Ms. Anna , and Mr. Matias, who went above and beyond to provide outstanding service throughout our visit. The food was absolutely delicious – the Tribute burgers and halloumi were fresh, perfectly cooked, and full of flavour. Everything tasted so fresh and high quality. The atmosphere of the restaurant was warm, vibrant, and very inviting, making it a great place to enjoy a meal. The combination of amazing food, great service, and a lovely environment truly made our visit special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for great food and fantastic service!

We stopped by Honest Burgers South Bank and had an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment we walked in, the service was incredible — quick, attentive, and very friendly. The staff made us feel welcome and really added to the whole atmosphere of the evening. We started with a mint lemonade, and it was just great — refreshing, perfectly balanced, and the kind of drink you’d happily order again. Then came the wings, which were crispy, tender, and paired with sauces that took them to another level. Every bite had that perfect balance of flavor and spice. Of course, the highlight was the burgers. They were cooked very nicely — juicy, flavorful, and exactly how a proper burger should be. The signature potatoes on the side were simply delicious, golden and crispy, the perfect match to the burgers. Altogether, the meal felt spot on: simple dishes, done perfectly. Overall, Honest Burgers South Bank delivered both on food and on service. It’s rare to find a place where everything comes together so well — the atmosphere, the flavors, and the people. Without a doubt, it’s a spot I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting London.
