Nice place to go. Good atmosphere. Good service when you're in there. My only issue is that it can get really busy on evenings and weekends and you have to wait ages. That's not really something they can sort out though

I recently ate at Nando’s and the food was excellent. The chicken was flavorful and cooked just right, and the sides were just as enjoyable. The small meal for kids was also a nice surprise — well-portioned and tasty, making it a great option for families. The only downside was that the restaurant could have been cleaner. The tables and floor needed more attention, which took away slightly from the overall experience. That said, if you’re going for the food, Nando’s definitely delivers

⭐ Review of Nando’s Goodmayes ⭐

Nando’s Goodmayes has become my family’s go-to restaurant, and for very good reason. While the food is consistently delicious and the team always welcoming, there is one member of staff who truly elevates our experience every single time – Veronica.

I have been enjoying Nando’s for over two decades, and visiting this branch since it first opened, more than six years ago. In all that time, Veronica has stood out as an exceptional professional whose warmth, attentiveness, and impeccable customer service skills make every visit memorable. She doesn’t just serve food – she creates an atmosphere where families like mine feel genuinely valued. My child, in particular, lights up when Veronica is the one looking after our table, which speaks volumes about the positive impact she has.

The restaurant itself is excellent: halal poultry is served (with certification on display), there is ample parking, and the venue is fully accessible for wheelchair users both in the car park and inside the restaurant. The addition of Dr Pepper to the drinks menu has been a welcome touch, and the food is almost always spot on. Since the pandemic, the service has been seamless – I’ve never had to queue, and the team’s efficiency has been faultless.

What makes this branch truly special, however, is the people. Staff like Veronica transform a good meal into an outstanding experience. She embodies the very best of what Nando’s represents – dedication, kindness, and professionalism. It is my sincere hope that her managers and the wider company recognise the extraordinary contribution she makes, because employees like her are the heartbeat of the brand.

Thank you, Nando’s Goodmayes, and thank you, Veronica, for giving myself and my family such consistently wonderful experiences. Our visits would not be the same without you, and we are deeply grateful for the joy and care you bring to every meal.

We visited Nando’s recently and, as always, the food was tasty and full of flavour, you really can’t go wrong with their chicken, chips, and rice. However, it did take quite a while for our order to arrive, and when it finally did, the food was a little colder than expected.

The restaurant itself was very busy and felt a bit crowded, which made the dining experience slightly less relaxing. It also got quite messy around our table, though one of the staff members was really helpful in assisting with the clean-up, which was appreciated and showed great service.

plenty of empty tables, i was waiting for over an hour and still no table. service is poor and staff is rude, manager is so bad and clueless blind short hair high ponytail. They wait to sit the big tables first even though there’s plenty of smaller seats available and we have been waiting longer for smaller parties is ridiculous higher better staff who work with urgency rather than laziness

We have 385 restaurants, 72 of which serve only Halal chicken and are signposted both in the restaurant and online. A small proportion of chicken sold in our other restaurants may also be Halal.

KFC Seven Kings - High Street

Tiny piece of chicken. Hash brown was bigger than chicken fillet. I got zinger tower meal. Not worth £10. Wouldn’t come back. I was craving KFC and this just wasn’t the same.

incomplete orders, cold food, poor food quality, After long time we try again but same bad experience…. Burger cold harder flit is too old and also no proper serve like no mayonnaise or lettuce I don’t understand we are paying money for good food why this people ignored us anyway no more KFC

Went to seven kings KFC this evening. When  I open my food from the bag I was shocked. The chicken it’s looks like I brought from a normal chicken shop. The Chicken wasn’t crispy. Food Quality 0/10. 😔
I visited 50+ KFC store and never had this kind of food quality. 🙏
When I came to give a review, I was shocked. There are so many bad review for seven kings KFC.

Worst experience, its 2nd time , I bought something from here, it’s taste like home made chicken , soggy , the chicken was smelly, the fries were also soggy every thing need be crispy but taste something different, extra salty, I complained about the chicken , their reply was it depends on the cook , what?
Need to be take serious consideration about the store . I don’t recommend anyone to visit the store, you can spend money on any other local store that will be cheap

HFA has certified KFC's products in these stores, and the store environments, as halal. KFC has also ensured that the halal certified chicken would also meet the rigorous animal welfare standards employed in the UK, and has consulted leading animal welfare groups about this. KFC insists that all poultry is stunned before slaughter. HFA allows the use of a technique called 'stun-to-stun' - a pain free process that makes the animal insensible to pain and suffering. A verse is also recited from the Quran at the point of slaughter by an appropriate person and the poultry will not come into contact with non-halal meat at any point in the supply chain. KFC only buys high quality, Grade A, farm-assured chicken from trustworthy suppliers, and this will not change.

I checked out an old school spot Five Lads. I frequently went to the original that opened in Leyton years ago, but was invited to check out the Goodmayes location @fiveladsgoodmayes 

I tried a range of items, the new chicken thigh burger was brilliant, a massive juicy grilled chicken thigh that was soft and delicious. They also got a really yum £3.99 small milk cake that's worth trying

I honestly didn't have high expectations when ordering from here but I was pleasantly surprised! The Grilled Chicken Burger is delicious, definitely needs more sauce in it though - it's a good thing they gave me free sauce sachets. Next, their Piri Fries are flavorsome, plus they gave me a really big portion that could easily feed 2 people as part of a burger meal. The Chicken Strips and Quarter Chicken were good too but, once again, I do prefer it to be more saucy. This place is certainly on the pricier side which is why I expected small portions and dry chicken. And that is just not the case at all. Will definitely be reordering from here again :)

I visited this place for dinner based on a friend’s recommendation but was quite disappointed with the food quality. I ordered a half chicken, a burger, and a wrap, but none of them met my expectations. The taste was bland and unappealing. The double patty burger especially was a letdown, it felt more like a cheap one pound burger. However, I must say the staff were polite and served the food promptly, which was the only positive part of the experience.

I ordered from Five Lads Goodmayes via Uber Eats, and it was a very disappointing experience. The food arrived leaking because saucy items were packed in cardboard boxes, which clearly wasn’t suitable. To make things worse, the chicken was severely undercooked—when we pressed it between our thumbs, it was pink inside, and there was almost blood-like juice coming out of it. Despite this, the restaurant told us, “that’s how it should be,” which was shocking.

When we called the restaurant to raise our concerns, the person on the phone kept giving us excuses about why the food could have been the way it was, rather than accepting what we were telling them. Even though they were closed to the public, the person answering the phone was still inside the shop and refused to come to a resolution with us.

Terrible packaging, unsafe food, and very poor customer service. I wouldn’t order from here again.

I placed my order on Uber Eats. I had a small issue with one of the items I received but could not contact the restaurant as they had already closed. I called in the morning and they were very understanding and they patiently explained the whole misunderstanding.

I ordered 2 loaded boxes and a quarter chicken with peri fries. Their chicken is very moist and well seasoned. I can honestly say this was far better than your average Nando’s. I would definitely order again!! Thank you for your help today!!

Been a customer ever since they opened (five years) and they’ve never disappointed. Their recent fiery burger is genuinely one of the best burgers i’ve had. Their rice is alright, could work on the taste, make it a bit flavourful. Their full chicken is a go-to, extremely flavourful. Also, their staff is always friendly, especially the store manager, she always goes an extra mile to do more than has to be done.

We visited Chapters for brunch and, unfortunately, it was a pretty mediocre experience overall. Nothing particularly stood out in a positive way, and one dish in particular left a very poor impression.
We ordered the mac and cheese as a side, but when it arrived it had an extremely pungent smell that was immediately off-putting. Upon tasting it, it was exceptionally bitter, and the odor was genuinely hard to tolerate. When we raised this with the waitress, she explained that it was made with blue cheese and was “supposed” to taste like that. We’re familiar with blue cheese, but this didn’t seem right at all,  the smell was unbearable and really suggested that something was off.
Overall, not a great experience, and unfortunately it left us feeling uneasy about the quality of the food. We won’t be rushing back.

Looked promising at first, but what a disappointment. The food had no flavour, and the “brisket” wasn’t even close to being brisket. The French toast tasted like dry Weetabix straight from the packet. No butter on the toast?? To top it off, my mac and cheese was served with my dessert—completely baffling

On the positive side, the lady serving us was genuinely kind, welcoming, and had a lovely smile, which was the only redeeming part of the visit.

Unfortunately, the seating was cramped and uncomfortable, and overall, the entire experience was extremely poor.

Brisket hot pot was chewy and cut into odd cubes. Toast tasted cheap, burnt, and dry. Iced latte felt supermarket-bought. Beef sausage looked bad and had no flavour.

Food took ages to arrive, some dishes came late. Seating? Why am I sitting on a stool and others have proper chairs?!

French toast was dry, rough, no ice cream, barely any syrup. Whipped cream on French toast? Really?

Overall – good service, some uncomfortable seats and food that just missed the mark.

Ok, so for price I will be giving it 4 stars. But for favour it was nothing special. Just ok. So overall 3.5 stars.

With so much competition around the area, I was hoping for something to standout.

Food:
Our food was overall ok. Nothing made to its full potential with flavour. My full English was just things put together on plate.
The French toast flavour is good. But I was expecting a fluffy inside with toasted outside. Instead, it was just thin toast.
My sons burger was the highlight and his was a kids meal.

Drinks:
The drinks no no no. My mojito classic was the worst I've ever tasted. It was soo salty and bitter. Nope no nope.
Wife's fresh juice good.

Service:
The staff friendly overall.
We went around 2pm was not busy. And didn't take long for food to come.

Ok, so I would say worth the visit for for price and it's halal. ok if you live local for ok food.
But if like me, you will be travelling to get here then not worth the travel.

Food was excellent and service was great too. The pancakes were so good!! And the savoury options are excellent. We popped in for a coffee and stayed for brunch. It’s a great option in a very busy area with great interior.

Breakfast at Hastag Cafe – A Tasty Start to the Day

I recently visited Hastag Cafe for breakfast and opted for the Hastag Breakfast, which offered a delightful mix of savoury and sweet elements. The savoury plate included beef sausages, turkey rashers, baked beans, hash brown, and scrambled eggs — all cooked well, with the scrambled eggs in particular being perfectly done: soft, creamy, and just right.

The sweet side featured French toast dipped in honey, served with a small pot of chocolate sauce. The toast was fluffy and indulgent, pairing beautifully with the rich chocolate.

My wife went for the vegetarian breakfast, which included toast, two sunny-side-up eggs, avocado slices, beans, and halloumi. It was a classic combination, but well-executed with fresh ingredients and no complaints on any front.

The standout, however, was the karak chai — easily a 5 out of 5. Rich, flavourful, and perfectly spiced, I’d return just for another cup.

The only downside was the price — the total bill came to £32, which felt a bit steep for breakfast. Still, the quality of the food and drink made it a worthwhile treat.

Nice small cafe, lovely staff and the food was amazing, very tasty and not too big of a portion which I’m glad for. Parking around the area is reasonable but overall, great experience.

Breakfast was really delicious and affordable. Portion size was enough for 2 people. The staff is amazing. 👍🏻

Lovely breakfast spot, really good for families and kids. Surprisingly very spacious, food was amazing, sadly they didn’t have the Mediterranean breakfast, but the Desi breakfast was really nice.
