We visited Gymkhana for lunch and opted for the lunch set menu for two. The portions were generous and perfect for sharing, which is clearly the core part of the lunch set menu concept. The butter chicken was rich and flavourful, and the bread basket complemented everything beautifully. The aloo chaat starter was another highlight incredibly tasty and the perfect way to start the meal. We also tried the Goat Methi Keema and Salmon Tikka, which were slightly saltier than our preference not bad by any means, but we personally prefer a milder seasoning. The Falooda dessert was decent but not particularly memorable compared to the rest of the dishes. For that reason, we would rate the food 4/5 overall, while still acknowledging that several dishes were outstanding. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. They took the time to explain each dish as it was served, which added a thoughtful touch to the whole experience. We were there for a birthday celebration and to our surprise, they brought out a birthday cake and a greeting card such a lovely gesture! Overall, we left very happy. Great food, great service and a memorable experience. It is slightly on the expensive side, but definitely worth trying at least once. Highly recommended!

Set menu is available for lunch with decent sized food portion. Decent vegetarian options available. Papad and chutney combinations are very good. Paneer Tikka has filling and is spicy. Naan is fluffy and fresh. Curries are tasty with balanced spices. Food quality and presentation is very good. Cocktails are a must try. Service is excellent. Ambience is good, dimly lit.

Had an absolutely outstanding experience at Gymkhana! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt elegant yet relaxed — perfectly balancing old-world charm with modern sophistication. The service was impeccable — attentive, warm, and very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was exceptional — every dish was full of depth, flavour, and authenticity. The kebabs were perfectly cooked, the curries rich and aromatic, and the presentation refined yet unpretentious. The cocktail list deserves a special mention — creative, balanced, and beautifully crafted to complement the cuisine.

We travelled 120 miles for this meal For mothers we were excited Watching ll the reviews online we assumed everything would be amazing ! To begin with The prawn starter was delicious - Although it was very spicy. I am used to spicy food as I am south Asian myself but after the 2nd one these were inedible The other starter recommended was the aloo chaat - Again for a potato dish it was ok not much could go wrong with this The lamb chop starter again - Very disappointing when it came to flavour, the cut of meat felt under cooked and again bland The mains were absolutely disappointing The butter chicken lacked any seasoning it was just butter and cream and nothing else Unfortunately the daal was also the same Bland creamy and nothing else too it unfortunately The bread basket was ok The best thing about this meal was the complimentary happy birthday chocolate mousse my partner ordered After enduring a £240 bill we ended up eating at Sheesh which truly delivered this is located down the road as we didnt enjoy our food enough to eat it all Overall - Service is impeccable Food I wouldn’t recommend It definitely wasn’t worth the drive up unfortunately I hope moving forward the restaurant can weigh up how much it charges and provided the taste people expect. I don’t usually write review regarding food but for how much this restaurant charges I feel as if I need to give a true account.
