5 Halal Steakhouses better than Zelman Meats

When it comes to steakhouses, Zelman Meats has London in a chokehold. And for good reason. Their meat is of very high quality, whilst prices remain reasonable. Zelman Meats serves Halal too, however since the Soho branch closed down the only location remaining is Knightsbridge.

Thankfully Zelman Meats isn't the only restaurant in London to serve Halal steak.

In fact, Zelman's menu is often limited depending on supply and stock. However, there are several steakhouses across the city that offer a full Halal menu.

Steakout

This simple steakhouse is HMC certified and family-friendly. Steaks start under £20, and are no-frills. You can order a sirloin, rib-eye or rump with a side of chips and a sauce of your choice. Steakout has a full Halal menu and several locations across London.

Fredo's

Fredo's in Manor Park offers a simple menu of American-diner style food. That includes a slightly more affordable selection of steak. If you're looking to hang out with friends or family, Fredo's makes a great option.

Tetto's

Turkish-owned Italian bar and grill might not immediately strike to you as the best place for steak. Infact, the strange mix is often a sign to stay away. But that's not the case with Tetto's.

The Tomahawk here is sublime. By far the best we've tried in London. £89 to be shared between two and it comes with two portions of chips. Ask for it medium - you need some red to enjoy this cut - and visit the Highbury restaurant if you'd like the full show from #Saltman himself.

They have locations popping up everywhere including Farringdon, Hampstead, Dalston and Highbury.

Steak & Company

Formerly known as Steak & Co. before their lockdown-inspired rebrand, Steak & Company serve a Halal menu at all of their locations. With three stores a stones throw away from the old Zelman Meats Soho location, Steak & Company might just be the perfect halal steakhouse replacement when you're visiting Chinatown, Piccadilly Circus or Fitzrovia.
