Saturday night dinner at Yum Yum Walthamstow. All food is halal. Went with my family, it was my dad's birthday. Loads of options on the menu, chicken, beef, veg and prawn options available for most dishes. 
Unfortunately for me my dish the red curry was actually the worst red curry I've had. It taste store brought and had a really lacked any depth for flavour. Bad for me, but my parents and brothers food were all good. Very busy, so recommend you book a table.

Thai Restaurant YumYum

First time trying Yum Yum in Stoke Newington in May 2025. My friends often recommend it, so I was really looking forward to finally visiting. We came after an escape room on Saturday afternoon, and I was glad to see they open for lunch on weekends.

The restaurant itself is spacious and stylish, with a lovely outdoor area that must be great in warmer months. Inside, there are plenty of tables and even a space at the back that looks ideal for group gatherings. Service was friendly and attentive throughout, which I really appreciated.

We ordered a few starters (money bags, prawn toast, and pumpkin & sweet corn cakes), which were crispy and enjoyable — definitely my favourite part of the meal. For my main, I tried the Pad Woon Sen Ta Ray (mung bean glass noodles with seafood). I liked that it was something different from the usual pad Thai, and the variety of seafood and veg was good, but unfortunately it was much saltier than expected. Drinks were decent value during happy hour, though my mocktail had a lot of ice so felt a little watered down. I also ordered mango sticky rice to go — nicely presented but a small portion for the price.

The biggest downside for me was the basement toilets. The smell as I walked downstairs was very strong and quite off-putting, especially as it’s close to the lounge area. Thankfully it wasn’t noticeable in the main dining space, but it did take away from the overall experience.

Overall, Yum Yum has a lot going for it — great service, plenty of space, and an attractive setting. But the food and the facilities didn’t quite live up to the high expectations I had based on my friends’ recommendations. Hopefully these are things that can be improved, as I’d like to give it another try in future.

The Thai food was absolutely delicious, with the Mango Sticky Rice being a standout – a perfect finale to the meal. Generous portions and reasonable prices made it an even better value, considering the high quality of the dishes. The customer service was top-notch by Turzo p contributing to a wonderful dining experience overall. I highly recommend Yum Yum Thai for its exceptional food, great value, and outstanding service!

Friendly service, nice ambiance and delicious food. I had the tofu pad Thai was lovely - good amount of tofu in there, tasted fresh and perfectly balanced. Looking forward to our next visit!

Ended with a Karak Chai that was nothing short of mind-blowing — warm, spiced, and perfectly brewed.

Excellent Thai food. Very specious and beautiful restaurant and quick service. Will come back for summer and sit in the garden.

The food and atmosphere were fantastic! Yilmaz took great care of us, providing excellent service along with complimentary dessert and Turkish tea. I’d highly recommend visiting this place.

There is simply not enough words to describe my feelings for this place. The food is delicious every time I come here, the service is very polite and timed well, as well as hospitality. The atmosphere is an unbelievable experience for me, the authentic tables, private seating areas are brilliant for anyone who comes here as a couple or a busy family.

Definitely would be on the top of the list of places I would advise for people to enjoy their meals.

great food great hospitality, and the customers are all locals! They know their stuff! The meat is all tender and juicy with that charcoal grill flavour. And the dessert is superb as will! The good taste so hard after a day of fasting . And my bf says it’s good even that he’s not that hungry! And with the history and inside the mosque, a must try in London! And great value as well

Amazing food. We had the platter for 2 and the lamb chops were the best, juiciest lamb chops I have ever eaten! My third time here and will definitely be coming back. Our waiter Yilmaz was very hospitable that took his time and was really friendly. Recommend everyone to come here for the best Turkish cuisine.

Food was nice large portions, we ordered the jumbo platter which was plentiful came with starters too , service was ok could’ve been better downside was we were told we could not sit in the booths even though we went at lunch time and there was no rush other then that overall a nice place second time visiting

Friendly restaurant popular with the locals. We were greeted by a very friendly lady with a sparkly hair band and seated immediately. They are so hospitable here and the food was awesome. Generous portions and delicious grilled flavours. Fresh homemade bread is complimentary and we were also offered tea at the end of our meal. We really liked this place. They made us feel so welcome.

Came here for late lunch with family for a birthday. Really friendly welcoming staff. Sat by the windows which open like doors. We had some great starters which were a variety of different things and then a mixed grill for mains which was cooked to perfection. It was a lot of food for the 5 of us we ended up taking home and finishing off later. When they sung happy birthday they brought out the whole shabang which we weren’t expecting and a nice little touch (all staff singing/dancing with a speaker and a little cake). Priced reasonably. Would definitely go back

A lovely dining spot for our group and great birthday experience for my sis in law. Food was flavoursome, having tried many dishes amongst our group of 12. Served with good sized portions. A Special shout out to our waiter Azim , he was top notch! Patient, spot on with recommendations  and friendly with a smile. Will definitely return and  recommend.

We had a shakshuka brunch (what a brilliant combination of the best ingredients) and a Baklawa French Toast. One of the best dishes I’ve ever had.

A very lovely family-run café. All of the recipes are their own, and they regularly refine them. They offer many vegan meal options. The food and atmosphere are wonderful, and it’s close to Stoke Newington Overground station. Definitely give it a shot when you are in the area. I guarantee you’ll come back a second time!

Absolutely delicious 🤤 food and portion sizes. I also really enjoyed the green smoothie, topped with what I think are dried hibiscus leaves. The Morning Palestine comes with warm bread, with ample muhammara and hummus dips. The small pot of tahini butter and honey is also divine. Food came quickly.

My only caveat is that you are definitely rushed out at the end of your meal. It’s a BUSY place so definitely not meant for a lingering convo. The bill comes almost right after your plates are cleared.

I had the shakshuka at 215 Hackney and it was honestly one of the most delicious things I’ve ever eaten. I’d highly recommend adding halloumi as well.

Everyone at the place is incredibly friendly, attentive, and polite. I couldn’t decide what to order and they suggested the shakshuka — and I’m so glad they did. I’ll probably be coming back just for this dish.

If you’re visiting in winter and want something comforting, make sure to try the halwa hot chocolate. It’s sweet and smooth, but never overwhelming. Absolutely lovely ☺️

We had the Veggie feast and it was absolutely delicious. The homemade potato latkes were particularly nice. The service was fast and the ambience of the place was lovely, we were there around 10 am so was a little quiet but I can imagine this place gets very busy from lunchtime onwards. I would highly recommend 215 to anyone

Good Pizza

Got two pizzas. Mushroom.and pepperoni, and another one with a white sauce, garlic spinach, and ricotta.
Both where lovely.
I've seen that some people said that the food was cold - and our pizza was cold(ish) on arrival....however it was from deliveroo, so Im not knocking a star off for what could have been a slow delivery

Amazing pizza! The dough was perfectly crisp, the flavour spot-on — not overwhelming, not heavy, just genuinely delicious and even felt nutritious. You can really taste the improvement since the new management took over. Big shout-out to the new team for raising the game!

Although the place has been serving me 'good pizzas' for a good few years, it's not been the case for the last couple of times I have been there. I have to say that it's not always run by the same people. These new guys are nice and all but I have made the mistake twice of ordering a pizza and then collecting it a few minutes later without checking it before leaving. The first time the pizza was burned all over the crust and I thought it was a one off and forgot about it. The second time I made the same mistake of not checking the pizza until I got home to find it  carbonised all over the crust and overcooked under; it looked more like an Oreo than a pizza. This second pizza went straight to the bin because it wasn't worth eating. I couldn't bother to walk 10 minutes back to the place to complaint as it was late and I was tired. Today I was walking by and I stepped in to tell them that if they burn a pizza they should put it in the bin and make another instead of selling it for 'good' to a paying customer. The guy apologised by saying that 'it can happen' but, since he must have seen that the pizza was burnt when boxing it and considering that is not the first time, the apologies didn't do it for me. He should have offered me a replacement pizza for free!... but he didn't and I didn't ask. Needless to say: this pizza place is out of my list of takeaways for good.

Absolutely amazing pizza!
I popped into this small pizza spot in Stoke Newington and was seriously impressed. The pizza was so good—thin, crispy base, super fresh ingredients, and just the right balance of flavours. You can tell they put a lot of care into what they do. The staff were warm and friendly, and the whole place had a amazing vibe. Honestly one of the best pizzas I’ve had in London. I’ll definitely be back!

A great place for a family meal!

Turkish Restaurants are always good places for groups and family meals due to the large platters they serve. We ordered a platter between 2 and also some Calamari. The Calamari wasn’t too oily and the batter was crispy 👌🏽 In regards to the platter, we were a little diappointed with the Adana, which is usually juicy and flavourful, but it was a little bland 😕 The Lamb Chops were good and so was the Lamb Shish. We weren’t huge fans of the Chicken Shish or Chicken Wings, though! .

Amazing Turkish restaurant in Stoke Newington! The grilled sea bass was outstanding, perfectly charred, aromatic, and very tender.
The mixed grilled meat was also delicious and went really well with rice.
Portions are generous, and every main comes with salad and freshly grilled bread. Everything is cooked over charcoal, giving the food a wonderful smoky flavour, but the restaurant has good ventilation so there’s no lingering smell.
Friendly service and a great place for family gatherings or dinner with friends. Highly recommended!

Authentic Turkish gem in Stoke Newington! The 25-year-old charcoal grill fills every bite with incredible smoky flavor. We loved the massive Mixed Grill Platter – the lamb ribs were perfectly charred and juicy. A true taste of Ocakbaşı tradition. Highly recommended!

One of the best Turkish meals I’ve had in London — completely changed my view of Turkish cuisine!

A friend brought me to this spot in North London, and wow… they really know what to order. We got the Cold Meze and the Testi Lokum Kebab, and both dishes were incredible.

I still don’t fully know what Lamb Middle Neck Fillet is, but it was unbelievably tender — genuinely melt-in-your-mouth. You can also see the chefs grilling the meat right at the front, which makes the whole experience even better.

And I have to give a special shout-out to their bread. Two girls who rarely touch carbs absolutely demolished it. It’s slightly like naan, brushed with some kind of special seasoning… absolutely irresistible.

As soon as we walked in, we were drawn to the style of the place. The walls were decorated with clay pots, and the bright, warm colours made it feel like a tiny Middle Eastern museum. The soft lighting was cosy and perfect for relaxing and chatting with friends.
We ordered Chicken Sarma Beyti, Lamb Chops, and Grilled Sea Bass.
The chicken was tender inside a slightly crispy wrap, especially good with the yoghurt and tomato sauce. The lamb chops were cooked just right — not dry, not too strong, with a nice smoky taste. The sea bass felt light and fresh, with crispy skin and soft meat, and a bit of lemon made it even better. Together, the three dishes were rich but balanced.
The service was also amazing. The staff were friendly, patient with recommendations. It really felt like one of those evenings when good friends and good food make everything better, the winter time in London didn’t feel so hard.

We came here during the Christmas season for a gathering with friends, and this Turkish grill spot turned out to be an absolute hidden gem!
