Ayllu

Not had very much experience with Peruvian or Japanese food, but whatever they did here was absolutely amazing.

Came in for the 90mins bottomless brunch. I like how they go about it; you order 3 food items and when it's done, they take the orders for the next 3 items.
For the drinks, whatever you opt for at the beginning is what you stick with. Options are white wine, cocktail (delicious), red wine and I think one other thing. It also keeeeeps coming!!

Between all 3 of us at the table, we must have had 80% of the menu. We also had the same conclusion that we would definitely be coming back.

For me, the Pulled Pork Taco and Hot Uramaki Rolls were the candles of my experience. Must have gone round it twice somehow.

It is worth visiting and the service is very good.

The concierge at our hotel recommended Ayllu with enthusiasm and made reservations for us. It was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant itself is small but chic. The Japanese-Peruvian fusion menu is eclectic and tasty. Our server Lorenzo was lovely and very attentive. He made many recommendations and each one was spot on. My husband and I shared several small plates, all were fantastic.

The chicken teriyaki, beef bao, trio of sushi tacos, beef tataki, sashimi and tender stem broccoli were phenomenal. However, the triumphs of our dinner were the Black Cod and Iberico Pluma. The cod was firm, tender and flavorsome. The Iberico Pluma was a fabulous surprise. Tender medium-rare pork that was fork tender and mouthwatering. We loved everything about Ayllu including Lorenzo, our fantastic server. It was a pleasure!

Each plate was exploding with flavour. Really well presented and exciting dishes fusing the best of Argentina and Japan. Interior decor moody and unfussy. Big thumbs up; delish 😄

We had a very enjoyable and delicious evening at Ayllu and beautifully presented, excellent food. Highly recommend the asparagus and fennel salad, the tuna ceviche, and the uramaki sushi rolls. Fresh ingredients, lots of textures, and well balanced flavours.

We also shared the grilled hispi cabbage, yucas Bravas (fried cassava sticks) and a sashimi platter. The salted edamame beans were excellent too - hot, plenty of salt, very moreish!

There is a good range of innovative cocktails, and I enjoyed the various white wines by the glass on offer - and ended up choosing the Macon-Villages Burgundian Chardonnay which was excellent.

Given the prices of the food, I would have expected nicer chopsticks provided on the table rather than the one-use wooden sticks you would get in a takeaway, but otherwise a superb experience.

First time in Ayllu - recommended by a friend - cozy venue located below a Smiths bar by the Paddington canal side.
Peruvian-Japanese restaurant vibe with dark but cozy interior. We had their Valentine’s set menu which came with a prosecco cocktail & we ordered an additional bottle of wine. Surprised by lively entertainment of a samba dance that evening - it was busy for every member of staff but they did it with a smile & tried their best which was good to see. The multiple course menu was decent & we enjoyed the ceviche, hamachi, mango caviar brioche toast & lobster the best. The Wagyu beef was cooked well but a little thin on the cut. The churros dessert dip was a little watery but it’s because it’s a chocolate liqueur & not chocolate dip.
Overall, had a good time in a lovely venue - a cosy place for a date (in our case a double date!) Enjoy!

Most of our fish, vegetarian and chicken dishes are Halal. Please let your waiter know so we can make sure there is no cross-contamination when preparing the order.

Let's put it this way, the food was SO good we had to personally thank the chef!

These guys know their stuff and they know authentic Indian. The staff are also very hospitable and welcoming, happily advising us on what to order. 

If you're in the area, I definitely recommend Bombay Palace!

Nice location. Good service. The food was OK but the menu was substantial with many options to choose from. The restaurant is large and has space for plenty folks. The large windows make the experience great. I came for a late lunch on a Friday and there were seats available. Not a bad option in Marble Arch.

Just lovely, very nice comfortable decor and super food especially the vegetarian starters we shared. Really recommend it for special occasion Indian. Quiet at lunch time but busy in the evening.

I walked passed this restaurant several times and this place always seemed busy with nice grilled food smell. Decided to try out today. Restaurant itself looked nothing special superficially, but when food arrived I realised that i was totally wrong.

Superb and fantastic food. I was never a big fan of lamb, but they were so tasty. This place became my BEST BEST BEST Persian restaurant. Ice cream/sorbet were very tasty and i think i am totally addicted to it now. Staff were highly friendly and helpful. Thank you very much.

Our first visit and I must say, absolutely fantastic. Fast friendly service with excellent quality food. All the meats flavoured and cooked to perfection, served with perfectly cooked basmati rice. The Lamb biryani was flavourful with tender lamb. Accompanying sauces and bread were all homemade and delicious. Very reasonably priced, Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed chargrilled meat on skewers here! The meat is really nice and juicy, salad is also tasty! Olives were on the house! Lovely staff and service. Highly recommend and will be back again.

A quaint family run outlet serves very nice Iranian food. This was one of the finds of London tour for us. Many of our friends suggested we must visit and we’re glad we did.
Their dips, meat platter and naan are a must try. Round off your meal with falodeh… Friendly staff, warm service and good food.

It was our first time in London from New York, and we went to Colbeh by chance. It was the most incredible Persian food I’ve ever tried abroad. The environment was clean, cozy, and friendly. The staff is amiable, and the food is beyond good. They made us feel welcome, and it was one of our best experiences in London.

BKC Biryani Kebab Chai

The restaurant is centrally located and serves the most authentic Indian food. The Biryani and Kebabs are fresh and meats used are succulent and nicely seasoned. The highlight is the chai and coffee served. Must try both for an relaxing and enticing experience.

Lamb Biryani is a must try for all meat lovers. They even got vegan dishes !!

I got takeaway from this place twice and it was delicious and flavourful. Both times I had the lam Biryani and the galouti kebab. The only thing I would say is the portion size is a bit small as the biryani is not sufficient for two people.

BKC is incredible! Other diners can speak to the authenticity of the food, but I literally risked missing my flight and completely gave up the chance to buy any other souvenirs in exchange for another taste of the pink chai and the biryani at BKC. Worth every second of sprinting through Heathrow to savor each morsel of biryani right before takeoff. My only regret is I didn't get more food.

I know that sounds insane. But try the pink chai (delicate, flowery, lovely, the Grace Kelly of chais) and you'll understand.

Simple unassuming spot on Edgware Road with a short and sweet menu. We ordered the chicken and lamb biryanis along with a Galouti kebab. The kebab was excellent, chicken biryani was good and the lamb biryani was just alright. Super affordable though - and great service. Would recommend.

I remember the days when KFC used to be so good when given you decent sizes of chicken. But now a days if you get 2 of those one will be actually a tiny little thing compared to the 2 extra chicken wings I ordered. So if you are  not eating in be ready for a tiny disappointing surprise. KFC has taken his standards down in order to save money, charging his customers  2 for one. Be aware of this practice is not only at Paddington location but across his branches.

Food quality is good and suitable for price. Staff friendly but they tend to forget sauces and they need to be reminded. When it is a takeaway they don't have proper paper carriers with handle so it is hard to buy a big meal and take it home with you live very far. Toilet facility limited access.

Was a pain to order as the staff didn't listen, had broken English so they didn't understand when they did listen.  To be honest they were quite rude and snappy.  Only a small order of 6 wraps which took nearly half an hour.  The collection number popped up and then disappeared from the screen.  When asked if it was nearly ready one staff member snapped at me saying "doing it".  But was another 5 minutes before I received the order.  Tried complaining but the staff rudely walked away.

I would rather go hungry next time.

Place is chaos, staff have no direction and completely ignore the ticketing system and cause mass confusion when busy. Waited 45 minutes to get served and in that time only 8 meals were served.

Place is a grimy mess, staff attitude sucks.

Genuinely the most disspointing KFC on the planet... And I've been to some terrible ones.

If you're considering going here or not eating... Don't... Rather get a pie and chips down the road.

Went to order a fillet box meal with 1 piece chicken and a drink asked for the chicken to be a Side Breast Piece, they gave me a leg so I went back and asked them for a side breast, the meal was not that great to be honest, the portion size of the chips was a joke and the burger tasted lifeless. The tables in this KFC were really dirty, all of them still had rubbish from previous food. The staff tried to close the dine in area early super early by blocking the eating area with the bin but failed because people just pushed past it. Then moan when people were eating in, even though they have late closing times. Really bad place.

HFA has certified KFC's products in these stores, and the store environments, as halal. KFC has also ensured that the halal certified chicken would also meet the rigorous animal welfare standards employed in the UK, and has consulted leading animal welfare groups about this. KFC insists that all poultry is stunned before slaughter. HFA allows the use of a technique called 'stun-to-stun' - a pain free process that makes the animal insensible to pain and suffering. A verse is also recited from the Quran at the point of slaughter by an appropriate person and the poultry will not come into contact with non-halal meat at any point in the supply chain. KFC only buys high quality, Grade A, farm-assured chicken from trustworthy suppliers, and this will not change.

I went in for dinner around 8 pm on Saturday. They were quite full. I had the Iraqi kebab (minced lamb) for dinner and it was very good. The food was well prepared and service was good. I would definitely try some other lamb dishes or a mixed grill next time.

21 years since this branch is opened.  This is the original Masgouf, I consider. Friendly staff, especially Rabee. Great seating outside, inside and downstairs. Great ambiance.  Great food.  They offered Muhalabia, Baqlawah and Dates for free. Reasonable prices.

The service was good and the food was absolutely delightful. Dolma, kibbe and kabab, salads are well great.

I loved the food at this place it was exceptional. On the other hand the service of the waiters was absolutely appalling and so rude. The waiters acted as if we were having the food for free and not paying them money for it. I asked for water and they actually chucked the water in front of my face. So service was terrible. But then the food was very very good and other then the terrible waiters which kind of brought a downer on our evening we enjoyed our time there and made the most of it.

This fully halal little joint, close to Paddington Station was a lovely experience. The food was tasty and the staff were very friendly. We had ordered prawn chive dumplings along with the prawn and crab ones. The 2 main meals were meat laksa and beef rendang with bao. All of which was served quite quickly with little wait time. I would like to try different things on the menu next time. Reasonably priced!

This Halal Malaysian restaurant was full of surprises… great food great service and zero complaints.
Food here is totally fresh and every dish was completely unique in its taste. Favourite dish here was the  beef rendang rolls.
Looking in my diary for when I can come visit again.

I went there tonight with a friend. It was quite pleasant. The food I ordered was all very nice but I tried some of the ones friend ordered and they weren't as nice.

I got a seafood platter - they all tasted good but could be quite similar in taste for some. There were some subtle differences but there was a prawn dominance in there for me. The kimchi in the middle of the platter tasted very good on its own but because it was very spicy and strong, it overpowered the subtle seafood taste of the dumplings so had to wait for that burning sensation to go away a bit before eating another dumpling. I only tried a bit of the dipping sauce with one dumpling and i didn't use it as for me, without the sauce would allow me to appreciate that original seafood flavour.

I had a crab and sweetcorn soup. It was nice but maybe a bit too much pepper for my liking.

I then ordered the crab and prawn dumpling (the purple looking ones) and they were very good too.

We shared a prawn cheung fun and for me this one is the weakest among the dimsum I mentioned. The pickled radish on it was too salty and the cheung fun case can be improved.

I tried a bit of friends leafy wrap thing and I didn't like it. He didn't either.

I was happy with my choice. Despite a bit of imperfections, it was all in all very good and delightful. I'd definitely visit again next when in the area.

Went here yesterday, place is hidden below in a basement. Despite the very slow but friendly service (only 2 staff) the food was phenomenal, arrived hot n succulent and the portions were very good at reasonable prices.

Ordered the prawn kway teow goreng noodles and chicken siu mai dumplings. These were some of the tastiest dishes I’ve had in a while. Cooked to perfection.

The seating is very compact and may require booking during busy times.

The only order I wasn’t completely satisfied with was the teh tarik tea, it’s meant to be sweet but their version had very less condensed milk n therefore didn’t hit the spot. That being said, will be back soon. 😀

DELICIOUS & QUALITY FOOD

It really is a hidden gem tucked away on the corner in Paddington. It's quite a small restaurant so a reservation is most certainly needed. Each of the staff were really friendly and one of the chefs even came to the table to see how our meal went.

To get the range of dim sum, we got both the deep fried platter and the seafood platter. Each piece was beautifully crispy.

I got the beef rendang rolls which were fantastic. Again amazingly crispy with a rich and tender beef filling.

The most enjoyable thing about this place is the variety of dishes that you can get which allow you to experience a lot of different, tasty and fresh flavours. Everything thing including the prawn laksa and nasi lemak ayam were fantastic.

Terrible experience! Visited with high hopes of having a decent Lebanese food. Sorry to say but none of the food we ordered were upto the mark. Staff had a nonchalant attitude as well. Never coming back!

What a magical night, i have head so much about Maroush chain restaurants but had never been. Was feeling extremely hungry as I arrived and was not disappointed. I was full to the point i had to unbutton my belt. 
The food was tender, moist and cooked perfectly. The live music was hilarious as the lady and gent singing got all the diners involved in the fun also.
Will definitely be returning, thank you Maroush.

I've come here a few time as it's close to where I live - always delicious and great quality. Huge menu with many choices. Good service and has always been quick when we go!

last week I ordered prawn with rice and it was disgusting,the taste felt too much oily,only the french fries that my sister took were okay. Staff was polite and the order came very soon.

Exceptional food and great service. 4 of us had mixed grills and a bottle of the house red with hummous and breads and were more than satisfied. Tasty Lebanese food with great flavours and spices brought to us swiftly by polite waiting staff who were very friendly. Very happy we found this place!

Queen of Sheba, on a quiet street near Paddington Station, is a 17-year-old Yemeni restaurant with an intriguing atmosphere, hookah pipes outside by the coffee tables, and charming booths inside.  As a side note I'm happy to support an institution that might give back to a country suffering a difficult time.  To start with, the people and service were low key and very nice, and likely from the region.  I ordered the lamb stew and a mango juice - alcohol is not served.  The stew came with a massive freshly-baked bread.  There was also some spicy homemade salsa on the side.  The stew was clearly the real deal, if you closed your eyes you'd never think you were in London.  That said, it was not entirely my style.  There was too much meat and not enough broth and herbs for me.  I prefer Eastern European soups and maybe Turkish as well.  But credit is due for being true to what it is.  I almost ordered the lamb soup starter (without meat) for £3 and the 4 vegetable appetizer (served with mentioned bread) for £12.  Chicken dishes may also have been more my style.  That said I had a very nice time, spent £17 including the mango shake, and would happily come back to explore the menu further or just sit out front and have a tea or coffee with a friend.

This was my first time in a Yemenite restaurant. The food was good, the freshly squeezed juices were outstanding.  I had hummus and lamb with rice, my wife had a stew.  I honestly think the stew was the better deal as the Lamb and rice was fairly dry. The hummus was tasty and the bread was massive.  The portions are fairly big here, so you certainly won't go hungry.

This restaurant does not serve alcohol but the waitress told us that guests can bring their own.

I'll try something else on the menu next time. Bit pricey for ok food. Staff very friendly and nice atmosphere.

My first experience with Yemeni cuisine. I really enjoyed it especially the chicken stew. Very good value.

This restaurant is awesome. Clean toilets, high chairs available, great staff. The food was amazing. The lamb was so soft and Haloumi was the best I ever had. I would highly recommend to couples, friends and families.

I has a cup of mint tea. I thought I will get fresh mint but it turned out to be mint bag! My friend ordered a latte and a dish of Mahalabia. She returned it back because it tasted bitter and she thought it might have been from the day before. Waiter was very nice and offered her free Baklava

I would rate this place higher if the service was better. It’s frustrating because the food is really good. When you have a waiter who doesn’t smile and generally doesn’t make you feel welcome then it ruins the experience. I can relate to the other reviews on here so hopefully the management picks this trend up and improves its service. Prices also very reasonable for the quality of food.

food was average I did not like the mint sauce it was plain white yogurt, the chicken was not marinated well enough the taste was pretty plain took long to arrive, the food had some odd smell to it , the waiter service was ok hence 3*

This is a nice, little place to eat. The food price wise is reasonable considering the location. The set plates is what most of the locals order, and for a reason because they are most cost effective but we ordered single dishes to try food we had only ever heard of. It was delicious and good quality. Portion size was relative to cost of the dish. The staff are friendly and the owner and his wife come out to greet guests and mingle which is nice. We went midweek so it was quiet. The restaurant feels dated - chairs are worn and tables look old but the waitress was giving everything a thorough clean. Restaurant is in basement level - no step free access.

Melur London can be quite difficult to find as it is located in the basement. However, once you manage to find it. 

The restaurant offers an amazing choice of Malay food. This reminds me of my days visiting local restaurants back in Malaysia. The food is tasty and service is excellent. 

I will definitely recommend everyone to try the rendang which is damn bloody delicious. The only thing you will regret is the weight gained after trying it out. 

Place and toilets are clean which is a huge bonus. Will definitely recommend!

Quietly running its business somewhere along Edgware Rd, this hidden underground restaurant triumphs many other restaurants above ground level, surprisingly. If you appreciate Malaysian cuisine, your first visit to Melur London would mean there has to be a second. The boss is really friendly, this place is quite suitable for large gatherings, and there is a great variety of food selections. My most recent visit was with two of my other friends, and we all enjoyed the Nasi Kandar served (though it was probably overly-soaked with curry). Nostalgically, that was our final meetup in London. If I do ever go back to London for a long vacation, I hope to visit Melur again. 10/10 would recommend!

Very overpriced. Service was very bad and they were trying to make me pay service charge. Food came in very small portions. Server tried to tell me that the service charge will come out of her pay check like I care cause I’m paying for the food anyway, that’s coming out of my pay check. Anyway, i highly suggest not to come her. Food was also dis-gus-tan!

Had the mix starter plate, was really nice, had a bit of everything.
For mains we ordered couple of different dishes with plain rice, the chicken coconut curry with Turmeric was lovely, we requested for it to be extra hot even though it already was, definitely my favourite dishes.
Would definitely recommend to try.

Great little Malaysian place in the west of London. A hidden gem, serving very authentic food! My first try at a Malaysian in London and did not disappoint. The chili ended up being too spicy that day (and this is from a Thai person, plus the Indian lady next to us enquired the same to the waiter) however I believe that was just a batch of chili paste being too expensive. Apart from that, everything else was great!

Came to this restaurant near its closing hours and the kind staff kept the kitchen open for our last orders. It was a decision we would not regret!

The food was delicious, starring a perfectly cooked crunchy sea bass with sambal sauce. You must try the chicken satay skewers dipped in their yummy peanut sauce. The satay plate came with a few rice cakes to make sure we have every bit of the sauce. 

Other delicious surprises included the breaded prawns, the Nasi goreng and the uber tender beef rendang. 

Another unforgettable dish was the kari lakhsa which was rich, spicy and super filling, coming with a very generous serving size.

We polished off the meal with sagu and ais kacang.

Overall, awesome meal! Definitely recommend it to anyone who discovers its hidden location.

Pros: Duck was fantastic. Food was of a good quality. Halal.

Cons: Service was poor. £4 for a diet coke is extortion. Absolutely zero understanding of the concept of gluten free. Waiters don't know what's in the dishes and basically provided next to nothing when it came to gluten free options. Do not come if you have any dietary requirements.

First restaurant I’ve ever been to with my husband as a newlyweds. We visited because some of the menu is halal. So big thanks to Jimmy choo! It was delicious. My husband and I visited again for the duck. He wished for Peking duck, but it wasn’t on the menu quite as he expected (since he is Chinese). But it was delicious. The curry and shrimp and service is great. I visited again as another milestone in my life was leaving the UK for good. And we chose Maximini again. Food is just delicious and environment is quiet. Food is brought out quickly and however you want it, whether in intervals. It’s worth visiting for sure. But for me it’s also sentimental. Also, it’s tucked away and just opposite Diana princess memorial park.

I’m gluten free (coeliac) and the waiter was VERY unaccommodating (he even asked if I had my medication just in case!). they didn’t offer (m)any choices and the waiter would say ‘not for you’ every time he put anything down including sauces, even though I’d told him, I was only eating my meal - very embarrassing. Also my ‘sweet and sour’ chicken was basically sugar water with chicken, I definitely did not enjoy my meal! Just to top it off, my coke was £3.80 which is just ludicrous! For a restaurant in central London, they should at least know what ingredients they put in their dishes! At least the food for the gluten-eaters was good! 🤷🏻‍♀️

This have been my favourite restaurant in the area for a while. The food is very tasty and the quality is amazing. Before lockdown I used to the get lunch or dinner at least once a week here. Now I am back to work and I was happy to see them open and offering take out or dinner in. I had a take lunch, and the taste of the Barbecued minced chicken was to die for! I definitely recommend this place.

Visited for a quick lunchtime meal with work colleagues and was pleasantly surprised. The outside does look a little rundown with the paint peeling but this adds to the atmosphere of the place and the Persian/Iranian culture you feel once you go inside. They serve large amounts of food and the price is very reasonable. It tasted amazing and well spiced. Who would have known this small place is a goldmine to grab some quick food.
