Marinated Lamb and Seafood Bibimbaps at Superstar BBQ, Korean favourites 😍 the beef was tender and seasoned beautifully, just about the better of the two! We couldn’t go to a Korean Restaurant and not order Duk Bok Gi, one of our best-loved starters, along with Crispy Calamari!

We had a great time at Superstar Korean BBQ! The lunch was absolutely yummy, and the food quality was excellent for such a decent price. I really loved the good vibe of the restaurant, which made the meal even more enjoyable. The staff provided good service and were very friendly throughout our visit. I truly enjoyed my experience and will definitely be coming back!

Great appetizers at Super Star, their kimchi jeon is fantastic! Their Korean Fried Chicken and Yuk Gae Jang is also very delicious and a must try. The Bibimbap portions were a little smaller than expected but good. The chicken fried noodles were ordinary.

This was my first time trying Korean and also experiencing cooking at the table.

The food was fantastic. Our waitress, Melissa was exceptional. She helped me choose from the menu, ensuring I got to sample the best and make choices that were both wide ranging yet economical.

I would definitely come back.

Fried chicken is not so Korean style but good on its own style. Pancake was thin and crispy, how it should be!

We booked a Groupon voucher after checking the dates it was available, and when we arrived we were told they weren’t doing that anymore somehow. After showing them the voucher and the fact that it’s still valid and listed on the website, they reluctantly sat us down and told us they’re gonna make an exception. For what? We were still paying customers and they made us feel so unwelcome.

On top of that, when the food arrived it was all horrible. We ordered the side of 5 dumplings and they brought us 2 (despite the menu listing 5), and when we asked why they said they changed it for the Groupon vouchers. Again the change not listed anywhere. Because three pieces of frozen dumplings will really make a big difference to their revenue🫠 Also the Fried chicken was practically inedible - pink inside, and the chicken bibimbap smelled and tasted of fish! No idea whether they just didn’t care to cook our food properly or what was done to it but it was one of the worst meals I’ve had in London.

The whole evening we felt so unwelcome and treated poorly so we had to leave as the food was disgusting on top of that.

A shame because the last time I went to this place, we really enjoyed it but the management needs to get fired frankly. Do not recommend.

Our chicken is Halal and since all ingredients are prepared separately, there’s no risk of cross-contamination. You may ask staff to change the grill upon seating.

Amazing fresh sushi and noodle dishes, seaweed salad very fresh and tasty, staff very helpful and polite. Nice and cozy dining place downstairs with lovely wallpapers. Nice little neighbourhood gem, great relaxing music in the background! Highly recommended!

This was my first time visiting, and I had a great experience from start to finish. Hamza, Depu, provided excellent and friendly service, and Rubel, the chef, did an amazing job with the food.
I tried the chicken sandwich, salmon nigiri, and black pepper chicken with rice, and everything was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked.
The dining atmosphere was warm, clean, and very comfortable, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal.

The ambiance added to the overall experience and made the visit even more enjoyable.
Highly recommended! I will definitely be coming back.

Amazing sushi and even better service! You won’t know by just looking from the street, but there are seats downstairs and the sushi is the best for the price range that I’ve found in London. Hamza was really great and everyone is kind. On top of that, they offer student discount (25% off when we visited!). And they stay open until very late – I think something like 3 AM!

Absolutely amazing food. Tried the Bao buns, Chicken Sandu & Katsu Curry. Absolutely stellar & of course, TASTY food. Pratiksha and Dipu were excellent staff and friendly as well.

Great place & would recommend anyone to give the place a go!

I rarely give 5 stars on food, but this deserves it! This was hands down the best food I've had in a long time! The burger was so soft and juicy. I ordered the Shackmeister and it was amazing! The chicken bites and the chips just added to it, and the caramel shake was so good! 😋 they even had honey mustard too!! Try this food, you won't be disappointed.

Stopped at Shake Shack on Tottenham Court Road for a quick bite and it delivered exactly what you expect—fast, consistent, and solid across the board. The burger was juicy and well put together, with the usual soft bun, melted cheese, and good balance of sauce and seasoning. Fries were hot, crisp, and not greasy, which is not always a given with fast food. The shake was thick, smooth, and tasted as it should—rich but not overly sweet.

Service was fast and efficient, even during a busy stretch. Staff were polite and kept the queue moving without cutting corners. The space is clean, seating was available, and the turnover was fast enough that it did not feel cramped.

Pricing is what it is—higher than average for fast food, but still worth it for the consistency and quality you get. You know what you are getting, and they stick to it well. A dependable option if you are in the area and want something quick but better than the usual chains.

I would also suggest that they have the world’s smallest sink in that toilet lol! Should’ve been much bigger!

I absolutely love Shake Shack! The food is always fresh, and the burgers are to die for. The ShackBurger is a must-try—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The crinkle-cut fries are crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and just the right amount of salty.

Delicious food, quiet and spacious, but extremely expensive. We orders for two people, a burger, fries and milkshake for both of us, and i believe the price came up to around 50-60£

The chicken we use in our Chicken Shack and Chicken Bites in every UK Shack is halal-certified, including our 2021 festive Black Truffle Chicken item.

Very quick service. Polite staff and a very clean restaurant. I want to especially mention the staff behind the counter who served me with a smile and asked if I wanted any sauce for my fries. Awesome interaction - this is how hospitality should be :)

Very poor management. Only one girl working in front and back. She is clearly under a lot of pressure doing all the jobs by herself. Will call the council as well about this. I don't recommend coming here as there is a very big cue always. I work across the road and I come here often it's always like this.

Firstly, the area is dirty. We came in because of the double deal at 5.99£
The burger was so salty, i have never found food salty in kfc but this was bad.
The table was dirty. We cleaned it up. The person who got us the burger, we told him it was salty and he ignored us which was not cool at all. Bad service, bad food. Good cold drinks tho. Please definitely check on this.

I had a great experience at KFC recently, and I just had to leave a review to highlight the incredible service I received from Dinithi. It was during a really busy time, and I was honestly surprised to see that she was the only person at the front — not only taking orders at the till but also preparing the food all by herself. Despite the pressure and the long queue of customers, she stayed calm, friendly, and professional throughout.

Dinithi greeted everyone with a smile and made sure each order was prepared correctly and quickly. I could see she was doing the work of multiple people, but she never let it show in a negative way. It’s rare to see that kind of dedication and attitude, especially in such a fast-paced environment. She went above and beyond, and I really appreciated the way she handled everything so smoothly.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at KFC Southampton Road, and a huge part of that was thanks to Dinithi! From the moment I stepped in, her warm and welcoming attitude stood out. She greeted me with a smile, made sure my order was taken correctly, and went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect.

Dinithi showed real professionalism and care — qualities that truly elevate the customer experience. She was patient, polite, and attentive, even during what looked like a busy shift. The food was fresh and hot, but it’s the service that made this visit memorable.

It’s rare to see someone take such pride in their work in a fast-paced environment like this. Dinithi is a real asset to the KFC team, and I hope her efforts are recognised — she deserves it!

Great British burgers and homemade rosemary chips

100% local products, everything is homemade with passion and love. Rosemary chips are served in abundance as well as burgers which are the perfect size to make your stomach feel full but not tired. The passion and kindness of the staff, especially the owner, makes this experience recommendable and pleasent. Can't wait to be back in London to be back here for a burger.

We stopped in for an early lunch before a show and had a great experience. I ordered the smashed single, which was excellent—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The rosemary chips deserve a special mention; they’re crispy, herby, and absolutely addictive. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Everyone was super friendly, attentive, and efficient, which made the whole visit relaxed and enjoyable even though we were on a schedule. Honest Burgers is a great choice for a casual meal with top-quality food and service—I’d happily come back again. By the time we left, the place was filling up so plan accordingly!

Delicious! The bacon gravy side is to die for.

Buffalo chicken burger is great and so is the beef double smashed patty.
Onion rings are up there with the nicest I’ve ever tasted and the chips are really authentic and flavoursome.

Service was friendly, reasonably priced for London.

Brooklyn brewery pilsner was a lovely pint on draft too.

Have a great time with colleagues in here. Really good quality of their smashed burgers, I ordered fried chicken burger as usual. Nice services and kind staffs, will visit again.

I visited Honest Burgers with three friends for our first meal in London.
We ordered 4 burgers, 4 drinks, and a large portion of onion rings — the food was great, but when I checked the bill, I was shocked to see a 20% service charge added.

From what I know — and even according to the owner’s responses to other reviews — most Honest Burgers in the UK charge around 10%. Seeing a 20% charge made me feel very uncomfortable, as if we were treated unfairly just because we’re Asian.

During the rest of our stay, we visited places like Dishoom and Bancone, and none of them charged more than 12.5% service.
It’s disappointing that what should have been a pleasant first meal in London turned into such a negative experience.
I’ll definitely warn my friends never to visit this location when they come to London

All of the chicken in our restaurants is halal. If you would like to see our supplier’s halal certificate please ask your server when you arrive. Halal products are stored separately with strict processes in place to stop cross-contamination. Halal chicken items are handled with separate utensils and gloves. Fried halal chicken burgers and wings do not share fryers with any non-halal items. Grilled halal chicken breast burgers are cooked on a reserved area of the grill separated by a grill divider. We do not offer halal beef at any of our restaurants.

We had our office Christmas lunch at Tattu London, and it was an amazing experience! The atmosphere was beautiful, and the décor was absolutely exquisite. Staff were super friendly and attentive throughout.

We chose the 3-course set menu, which was more than enough food—everything was delicious. The sushi was fresh and crisp, the steak was perfectly cooked medium-well on a bed of asparagus, and the dessert was sweet and moreish. We added duck pancakes and char siu pork, which were both tasty, but honestly, the set menu alone is plenty.

One funny note: the round tables look like Lazy Susans, so everyone tried to spin them at some point!

Overall, a fantastic experience. I’ll definitely be back—and next time, I’m trying more of their cocktails!

This was my first visit to the London location, having previously only been to the one in Edinburgh. While I found the venue charming, I don't think it matches the appeal of the Edinburgh spot. The food was quite tasty, but I don't feel it offers good value for the price. I understand the location is busy, but I could find similar dishes for significantly less in nearby places. I sampled a few cocktails, and while the cherry blossom was enjoyable, it was a bit lacking in quantity. What stood out to me the most were the music and our server, who I believe was named Alex. Overall, I wasn’t particularly impressed and don’t think I would return.

I had a really good experience at Tattu, the atmosphere is very cool, they had a DJ while we were there, along with a nice fitout and a number of rooms.

It was very busy when we first arrived at 7 with alot of people leaving and others coming in, this lead to a delay at the cloakroom and a bit of a build up of people on the upstairs lobby. It took a bit over 5 minutes to be seated.

The cocktails that we had were all nice, well presented and had a unique trist to them. I think the tea service was so so and keeping the water topped up during the meal could have been better.

The food was generally expectional, we had the mixed dumplings taster, which all rated nice and again was well presented. The sticky beef which was great.

Our mains we had pork belly, tofu and shredded duck fried rice. I thought the duck fried rice was ok but not at the same standard as the rest of the dishes, it tasted like something I could get at a local shop while everything else tasted expectional.

We had the pagoda chocolate desert, which was nice but I think I would give desert a miss if I went again.

Service seemed attentive and friendly but also a little slow at times given the number of staff and the 14.5% service charge I think it could be better.

We went just before Christmas. Everyone was seated in an area away from the flowered rooftop which was disappointing, as that was the main reason we booked. We were given a far more expensive menu, and only the 'set menu' upon request. The starter and dessert was average, but the main was excellent. I found the servers a bit hit and miss. Our main server was very friendly and accommodating, changing wine when it wasn't to our taste. The starter however, came out before our drinks had even arrived. Another woman was quite rude and seemed offended when asked questions (which she told us curtly not to ask her, but the servers). I asked her later politely to take a photo of me with the flowers, and she seemed irritated. It's a shame as we mostly enjoyed our experience, but for the above reasons it's a 3/5.

I had an incredible experience at Tattu!
From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was stunning – elegant, modern, and full of character. The food was absolutely exceptional, with every dish beautifully presented and full of bold, authentic Chinese flavors.

What truly made the evening special was the service. Our bar manager, MICHELE, went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. His knowledge of cocktails and attention to detail were outstanding — each drink was balanced, creative, and matched perfectly with the dishes. You could really feel his passion for hospitality.

Tattu isn’t just a restaurant, it’s a whole experience — one that I’ll definitely be coming back for. Highly recommend!

Our chicken and lamb are halal. Some of our dishes do have alcohol reduced down in the sauces, however an allergy matrix will get brought over for you to help with your decision. 

We do also have a good selection of seafood and vegetarian dishes also.

I came here for the Palestinian support ofc, but it turns out that's not the only perk of the place. The staff is all Palestinian, and so the owner and the food. I had a Kafta Meshwi, which came with 3 lamb skewers, for just £17. I think it's great value for money. And the quality was really good. It's not the typical London restaurant, bringing you food after 2 minutes. Here you have to wait, as they prepare everything from scratch, even the drinks or the sauces. Talking about drinks, I had a nice Jellab, which reminded me a bit of a rose lemonade. Definitely a great place to go if you're in Holborn and hungry. You'll make your stomach feel good, and so your heart.

Ordered catering for a work event - so generously portioned and good value for money. Beautifully presented and very friendly staff. Catered to all dietary preferences and Sayeda was flexible to my requests and last min changes. Would highly recommend!

TLDR - came at 5, ordered food at 5:45/6 food came at 7 with many missing items, missing drinks, warm/cold food. Cancelled a few items as everyone was overwhelmed. Overcharged us with a few drinks but also over made a wrap 3 times so just gave to us. Don’t go as a big group and on a Saturday.

Wanted to go here to support a Palestine restaurant so went as a group on 9 on a Saturday. We understand that it is busy and a group of 9 is pretty big so we were very understanding but I’m sorry we had a terrible experience.

We came around 5 (we booked in for 5) and got sat downstairs as we were a bigger group and it was almost like they forgot about us. We sat for almost an hour until we were able to order anything. No one came to check on us and we had to keep going upstairs to get their attention.

Finally near to 6 we got to order. Ordered the food and drinks. I had 2 friends that came later on and ordered upstairs, their food platter came before everyone else did. It took an hour to finally get everyone’s food but still there were missing items and missing drinks. Most of the food was warm/cold by the time it got to us. Some food we even ended up cancelling because we were already there for almost 3 hours we were just getting overstimulated. We were all so hungry so we just ate, we were also told someone would come down with the bill but no one did.

They did end up giving us randomly 2 chicken wraps because I think there was no communication between anyone. (They didn’t charge us for this).

We then just decided after 20 mins to go upstairs to pay. They tried to charge us for extra drinks we didn’t order as two of us ordered the platter for 2 and it came with drinks but they added it as a separate item.

I also don’t want to make it about anything but the service but there was a small family of 5 who got sat down and left within an hour and a half while we were still waiting for our food. There was also a bigger group of people who got sat down and within 10 minutes got theirs order taken and within 20/30 minute majority of their food came out. There was a clear distinction between them and us with languages…. Take that as you will.

I’m sorry but I really wanted to enjoy my experience here but it just ended up being an overstimulating, cold and stressful evening. It was meant to be for my birthday but I’m just extremely upset. Like I mentioned we all tried to be understanding, the food would have been good if it was hot or warm but it was warm closer to cold. They meat was kind of dry, the chips and rice was unseasoned. Hummus was amazing, salad was great and fresh but overall experience 2/5 sorry.

I came here for dinner, I had excellent Palestinian/Lebanese food, good and cheap! A special mention for the dessert, the knafeh! Delicious, I could have eaten 10 more! The staff is super welcoming and ready to exchange a few cheerful and welcoming words! Highly recommended!

Amazing food! Portions are generous and everything tastes so delicious! I had a mix plate of cold and hot mezze…. The lamb was incredible! The service is friendly and polite! Very nice and calm atmosphere!

Which Wich Superior Sandwiches

Which Wich Superior Sandwiches really impressed me with its freshness and variety. The bread was soft and flavorful, with different cuts to choose from, and the sandwich fillings tasted just as fresh. I loved how you could customize everything to your preference, which made it feel like a meal made exactly for me.

On top of the sandwiches, I was pleasantly surprised by their cakes and coffee. Both were a great addition and made the whole experience more enjoyable. It’s a spot that feels healthy yet still indulgent, and I’d happily come back whenever I’m craving a wholesome but tasty bite.

We ordered a bacon 🥓 muffin which tasted mouth watering.
It arrived very fast and very hot.
Also an ultimate breakfast muffin which was bacon 🥓 sausage  and one egg.
My friend ate this one he said the sausage was juicy and tasted very good.
The egg 🥚 Yolk was hot and runny and tasted very nice.
10/10 Will be back soon.

An amazing sandwich spot to grab a quick bite to eat. Pair with side of fries or chips and your favorite beverage!!!!

We visited the Tottenham Court Road location – it’s a busy area, but we easily found a table. Service was quick, and the staff were really helpful.
I had the Shrimp sandwich and it was excellent, while my friend had a vegetarian option and really enjoyed it. The chips came in massive portions – great for sharing!
Love the whole concept of customisable sandwiches, and the friendly staff/atmosphere, good prices,  makes it a place we’d happily come back to. Thank you.

We got the philly cheesesteak and roast beef with mushrooms. Both sandwiches were really great! Hot throughout, bread was perfectly toasted and the fillings were tasty. There was a very polite server, we didn’t catch his name but he was very friendly. We will be coming again in the future for sure! I would say always go large as you definitely get your money’s worth when compared to the size of a regular

The chicken is halal and we have a few seafood options as well. We are aiming to make the meat halal soon as well!

Used to be super great! Despite the hefty price of £10.50, I was very happy with the portion size, food quality and taste.

However, recently I have noticed that the portion size has become very small. I got only 3 pieces of mango in my house salmon today and not a lot of other ingredients generally.

Was very happy otherwise 5/5 but now that the portion size is lower (specially on my purchase today 14/07), team and I will be considering lunching elsewhere.

Good value for money, the poke bowls are pretty big and you get a lot of seasonings, I bought the spicy salmon bowl and it was delicious, lots of salmon!
Think it's better value than some of the big sushi chains, would recommend for a lunch and even takeaway dinner!
Staff were also lovely.

Love it here! I go here nearly everyday and have not gotten sick of the food - been going for nearly 2 years straight!!

Unfortunately they had ran out of the spicy tobiko poke bowl I initially wanted. The salmon poke bowl I got was still tasty. The portion was slightly on the smaller side.

The beef gyudon we have in stock at our red lion branch is not halal. But the chicken in all our stores is Halal.

Homeslice is always a solid choice for a casual bite. The giant pizzas are delicious with great flavour combos. Service is quick and friendly, and it’s a fun place to grab food with friends. It can get busy and a bit loud at times, but the quality of the pizza makes it worth it. Definitely a favourite for an easy, tasty meal in SEven Dials.

Great spot for sharing or a quick slice on the go!
The pizzas are HUGE, thin-based, and delicious - perfect for sharing. We were three people and got one pizza, doing a half-and-half, which worked out great. The only downside is the limited seating. The place is quite small, with only a couple of two-person tables outside due to the narrow walkway. Still, totally worth it for the pizza!

Great pizza. Fairly limited menu but what they have is great. The pizzas are very thin, but they are very large - one between 2 of us was plenty. You can have 50/50 topping so great for sharing.

Nice and rustic inside. We had a booth, which was cosy, but a little cramped for 4 people. The benches were also a little uncomfortable.

Service was friendly and efficient, even though it was busy.

The pizza was ok, nothing that amazing like the reviews really, I think it’s over priced for £5+ for a very thin SLICE of pizza, I paid £11 for two slices and can’t say it was really worth that all, we had the margarita and it had hardly any cheese on, pretty much bread with tomato sauce.

The staff were nice and we managed to get a nice seat out the front which made it worth it, after walking around London for hours.

Our Wagyu and lamb are both halal, and of course our vegetarian pizzas.

Inventive approach to Indian cuisine with a cosmopolitan twist

Very impressed with the food. The popadoms were fresh and crispy, the chutneys that came with it were absolutely delicious. Then we tried the mall road dahi sev puri which were full of flavour. The kandhari panner tikka was also decent. For mains we had the butter chicken and the daal makhni. This butter chicken was very high quality compared to other indian places I've visited. The breads were perfect, the garlic naan had the right amount of seasoning and the malabar parantha was crispy on the outside and soft underneath. For dessert I recommend the dark chocolate silk cake, presented very well and hit the spot! The service was excellent. Loved the traditional decor, the chandeliers, countless paintings and statues gave off an authentic Indian vibe

Absolutely amazing tasting menu. It likely changes throughout the year but attached a picture of the menu and we got to try nearly everything on it. Can't recommend it enough for a tour of Indian cuisine. The alcohol pairings are also fantastic and a decent deal!

We visited Colonel Saab for hi-tea to celebrate our anniversary, and the experience was truly memorable. I had emailed them in advance mentioning the occasion, and they went above and beyond by arranging a beautifully presented pastry with a “Happy Anniversary” topper. The staff were also kind and courteous enough to offer to click our pictures, which made the celebration feel even more special and personal.

The service was outclass — warm, attentive, and genuinely caring throughout. The food was delicious, elegantly presented, and made the hi-tea experience feel indulgent and special.

Colonel Saab truly excels at hospitality and attention to detail. Highly recommended for celebrations and special occasions — we’ll definitely be returning.

I had the pleasure of dining at Colonel Saab and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The menu offered a great variety of dishes, all expertly prepared and bursting with flavour.
But what truly made our evening memorable was the exceptional service, particularly from our waiter, Anshul. He was attentive, friendly, kind and truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a great time. His recommendations were spot-on, and he made sure every detail of our meal was perfect. It's rare to come across a waiter who is genuinely passionate about providing a top-notch dining experience. Simply the best!! Thanks to Anshul, our visit was one to remember, and we'll definitely be returning!

Had lunch at Colonel Saab in High Holborn today and honestly it wasn’t planned at all. I was in the area, starving, and the place looked kinda fancy from the outside but I just walked in anyway because hunger does not care about vibes. The inside is actually pretty cool — loads of decorations everywhere, almost like someone collected half their life’s memories and hung them on the walls. Took me a minute to figure out where to sit because I was just staring around like a tourist.

I ordered something simple because I didn’t feel like pretending I know every Indian dish on the menu. Whatever I ended up with came out smelling ridiculous in the best way. The spices hit instantly, but like… in a good warm way, not that “I’m about to cry” way. Everything tasted proper fresh, and the chicken was actually soft instead of the dry stuff you sometimes get at busy places. Even the rice was on point, not mushy or clumpy.

Portion was decent too — not tiny “posh” portions, but not so much that you feel like rolling out the door. Staff were chill, friendly without being overly polite, which I like. Overall, it was one of those lunches where you leave thinking, “yeah… that was definitely worth it.” I’d go back for sure.

We don’t endorse pork and any other meat other than Halal. We have chicken, sea food, duck, beef on our menu. All Halal.

Eat Tokyo, this branch in particular, has been a favourite for years and would usually be a 5* for me. The food is always delicious, the portions on the larger side and the prices reasonable. The fish and sushi especially have never failed to be great.

However, my guest and I were both rather disappointed by the service on our last visit (4th of November). We arrived before restaurant opened and queued so we were some of the first people to get in at opening.

I understand the place gets busy but we felt rushed: our waitress asked us not once or twice but thrice if we were ready to order, whilst we were still very clearly reading the menus on the table. There’s so many options it takes a while and it was getting annoying to be pestered.

The dishes all came quickly and I cannot fault the food (though a few options were not stocked that day) but we felt watched like a hawk!

Barely had time to finish eating and decline desserts and we were promptly presented with the bill.

As it happens, this was a birthday meal for me which has been a little tradition for a while and I’ve never felt rushed like this before. For context, I ordered 5 dishes of different sizes plus a drink and my friend also got several starters plus a main meal and drink so it’s not as though we were were hogging the table with barely any food.

As we left, we expected to see a large line outside that might explain why we were being so rushed, but there was no one!

Overall, we enjoyed the food but the service certainly dampened our experience.

Overall, it was a rather disappointing experience. The restaurant itself has an unusual layout, spread across several very small floors. The uppermost and largest floor, which lacks windows, felt somewhat enclosed and overcrowded.

The menu was quite confusing perhaps typical of authentic Japanese establishments, but it made choosing dishes more difficult than expected. The food was acceptable, though not exceptional; I’ve had more enjoyable Japanese meals at smaller, non-London venues.

Service was also underwhelming. While staff were not overtly rude, they were somewhat abrupt. One of our main dishes arrived nearly an hour after the rest, and the initial response from staff was unhelpful they declined to cancel the dish despite everyone else having finished eating.

Vegetarian options were notably limited. Moreover, several dishes marked as vegetarian actually contained fish, so those with dietary restrictions should take care.

In summary, it isn’t a terrible restaurant, but it fell short of expectations, and I wouldn’t be eager to return.

Solid choice for authentic Japanese food at good value. The serving sizes are generous, the ingredients fresh, and the menu offers plenty of variety. Service is efficient yet welcoming - you’re well looked after without any fuss. Great spot for a casual, satisfying meal

I had an excellent Chicken Katsu Curry at the Eat Tokyo restaurant (Holborn). The main dish was about £9 and the can of soda a few pounds. The size and quality of the meal was good value for central London prices.

I visited on a Friday at lunchtime, so it was busy and I had to wait only a couple of minutes for a table to become available.

The staff were friendly and once my order was taken, I only had a short wait for the meal to arrive.

I opted for the regular size Chicken Katsu curry (there is also an option for large). The regular sized meal was definitely filling and I was glad I did not order the larger version. The food was tasty, with the chicken nicely crispy coated, the curry a medium spice level and the carrots & potato well cooked.

The menu is quite large, and looking around the restaurant the Bento boxes also appeared to be very popular.

I would recommend this restaurant.

I’ve been here many times and have never been disappointed. The place itself isn’t fancy, but the food more than makes up for it. Every dish I’ve tried has been excellent, and you can really tell the people here care about what they’re doing. This spot truly deserves five stars.

Our chicken is Halal and we do not use alcohol in the preparation of our sushi rice.

My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner here! The topper was our super fun and friendly server Alexandra we had so much fun chatting with her, and she was very helpful with everything. The vibe is super fun and we liked the crowd the night we were there. The food, it's good not 5-star but really tasty and w/ creative twists on some traditional meals/  We had the caesar with pollo and it came with these really delicious little peppers and a piece of fried kale. Nice take on the usual caesar! The churrasco chicken (kinda like karaje, fried) was served with a delicious spicy sauce, but unf. was too fried and we had to pick through the dish for the good pieces. The mac & cheese was good, with a creative sauce and cheese that made it unique, we enjoyed it. All-in-all we liked it a lot, thanks Alexandra for making it so much fun, and we'll be back!

Great vibe, especially in the late afternoon/early evening. Perfect for relaxed drinks with friends – spacious seating, cool breezy atmosphere, and a solid happy hour menu with well-priced cocktails, beers, and wines. The staff are friendly and quick, and it never feels overly crowded during those hours. Not a fine-dining destination by any stretch, but if you’re looking for a laid-back place to kick off the night with good drinks and a fun crowd, Cabana nails it. Definitely recommend for happy hour!

Nice looking restaurant. Came with friends.  Service was slow,  restaurant was not busy at the time. Vibe was nice enough. All the food was decent, but needed more punchier flavours of Brazil. It's a place to stop off for a casual lunch. A good food place, with some adjustments to the flavour and service it could be great. Still left happy enough. Full and satisfied so no complaints.

The food was mostly really good with a decent vegetarian selection and special shoutout to the dough balls snack and the oyster mushroom-skewer (which is not for the faint hearted🔥🥵). BUT the tacos are veryy dry especially the fish tacos are extremely dissapointing for the price with basically no sauce. There was a slither of fish.

The price to portion ratio is lowkey criminal and the DJ was playing slightly dodgy tunes at some points but he’s only there on fridays. But definitely over priced if you don’t go with a discount deal

The food here was absolutely delicious but that’s just the start. The space is awesome, staff super friendly and they even had a live DJ playing relaxing music at a civilised volume. Our order-taker answered our questions about the food on the menu and gave us great advice on what combinations would go well together. Food came quickly and was piping hot. Now to talk about the food again, each dish had its own standout flavour. Everything was well seasoned. The steak came out perfect and the chicken wings had that distinct open flame flavour. They were also very juicy and meaty. The sides of chips, beans and rice were so good, I could eat them by themselves! Such a great meal and atmosphere I’ll definitely be going back.

All our chicken is Halal as is our rib eye, and lamb.

I'm working back near Leather Lane this week again after a year away. The famous market is one of my favourite places in London for lunch, there are soo many halal options now, even more so than when I last was here. We are talking street food, restaurants and cafes. Love it here .

Whilst walking up and down the market spending most of my lunch break on what to eat I spotted that @tongue_and_brisket had a halal sign in the window. So I had to finally try a salt beef sandwiche. They also have a beef bagel as well. I sampled the roast beef and salt beef, but opted for the salt beef as its something different .

Price is £5.90 for a small sandwich, nothing really special. Pretty simple. With so many choices around I doubt I'll try again, but at least there's finally a place to try salt beef. I confirmed that the meat in all locations is halal and is purchased from Spitalfields Market

I was taking my friend around Leather Lane, the area, the lovely and very busy food market, lovely coffee shops...etc.
We settled for Tongue & Brisket.
I knew it before and I was glad to go back.
It is a very busy place, especially for take away.
But the service is friendly and fast. We decided to eat inside, as they had a free table on our visit.
We both had the Reuben  sandwich.
It was fantastic, tasty, soft, and a good portion. We also took some fish balls - lunch deal at £ 15.00 for sandwich, fish  balls, and a soft drink.
It was a perfect lunch.
But you have a lot of choices to buy from, all style of cusines... The main issue is that you have very limited space to sit outside in the area, especially on sunny weather, unless you go back to your office...
Highly recommended...

Solid Reuben Sandwich, 4.3 stars. Non-fuss, very friendly service. Found this on my lunch break, large was enough. Lots of meat and fresh fillings.

I was disappointed with my Reuben because of the star of the show - the beef. There was no moisture left in it and the sauces weren’t enough to make it up to a 4/5. It sounds like I got unlucky - will make another trip in the future!

Tender and tasty salt beef and tongue sandwich. Bread soft. Served quick and hot. Good portion for £7.50 (regular), and the sandwich can be customised to your needs without extra charges (I wanted to try two meats in one sandwich, and you can even have 3, though it isn't recommended cos of the different texture of roast meat). Would revisit.

Been here today a bit early and had a nice talk with the guy working there. I got the first cut of the day and it was really delicious. The cole slaw also was refreshing. Should fit nice with the chicken schnitzel as well. Will come back here!

We've had to change some of our suppliers since COVID19. Our salt beef and tongue is no longer Halal. But all other meats such as roast turkey, roast beef, chicken schnitzel, chopped liver and chicken soup are all still made with Halal meat.

My Old Dutch

Had the stack of 5 Butterscotch pancakes, Pistachio and strawberry/blueberry. Pancakes were soft and cooked well, filled with flavour and very filling. The atmosphere in the shop was also cosy. I would visit again :) staff were also helpful when one of us ordered the crepe instead of the stack of pancakes by accident

Our group of 11 had dinner at My Old Dutch.  They were ready for us, and had us served impressively fast.  There were options for the gluten free, dairy free, and vegan members of our group, which was amazing.  Everything was delicious.  Would definitely return!

Omg I can’t even explain how much this place is amazing! The pancakes were the best I ever had (really). I got one with chocolate chips, maple syrup and chocolate. I’m so sad this is my last day in London and don’t have more time to try other ones, but for sure when I come back to London it will be the first place I’ll go. If you love pancakes, like I do, don’t even think about going to other places, just come here and you will love it, I promise! The waiters were so nice and the restaurante is really cute. I came at 16:00 and it was really quiet

You Me Sushi

Really good sushi and a nice place to eat. The fish tastes fresh, the rolls are well made, and the portions feel worth the price. The service is quick and the staff are polite. It’s not the most premium sushi in the city, but for the quality and the experience, it’s definitely a solid choice. Would happily come back again.

The best place for lunch in the area. Great choice of freshly prepared sushi, soups and bowls. Poke is especially nice, very generous portion for a good price. All meals are prepped quickly and nicely. Staff are very friendly, smiley and knowledgeable. There are always some seats available both inside and outside.
Music is a bit of a disappointment as it doesn't reflect the atmosphere of the place :(

My bowl was amazing with the perfect amount of sesame sauce and seeds all over, very fresh and the man who served me was absolutely lovely. Only reason for 4 stars is there are multiple beeping noises within the restaurant, so it’s not the best to eat in

Quick, fast and for the price, quality was definitely there! Good value for money! Everything's halal except the gyoza just because of a potential chance of cross contamination, very good for them to point out! Would recommend for going her for lunch and on the go!

I had a really tasty vegan poke bowl and sprite for £10 at lunch. Friendly staff and nice meal!

We have recently improved our processes to remove mirin (alcohol) from our preparation process. All our chicken tempura is halal but our chicken gyoza is not halal.

Outstanding experience at Oorja!

We had an absolutely fantastic time at Oorja. The food is exceptional — truly authentic Indian cuisine that exceeded all expectations. Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully prepared.

The service was immaculate. A special mention to our waitress, Lovely, who was incredibly attentive, warm, and highly professional throughout our visit. She made excellent recommendations and really elevated our experience.

The atmosphere is vibrant and buzzy, yet still comfortable enough to enjoy good conversation with friends. And the cocktails deserve a shoutout too — expertly made, high-quality, and delicious.

We will definitely be back, and we can’t recommend Oorja enough. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Very impressed with the food but the service was a let down. Went here for Sunday lunch with my cousins and food wise, most of the dishes were delicious - favourites include their chicken chops and the palak chaat, yumm!

The service though left much to be desired - the mains came before the kebabs, the naans took ages to arrive while the curries were already there. Repeat naan orders were lost and even asking for a bowl of yogurt took 20 mins.

If the service was better, would have earned a 5 stars for sure.

I went in around 9 p.m. on a Saturday night. Even though it was really busy and I was on my own, the staff still sat me right away with no waiting.

The food was honestly amazing. The Barrah lamb chop was super tender, packed with cumin, and basically melted in my mouth. It had a bit of spice, but the onions and green sauce balanced everything perfectly.

The butter chicken was smooth and comforting, and the chicken was actually juicy. Paired with the rice, it was the perfect combo for me since I love a little sweetness in my savory dishes.

If you do not drink alcohol, you should definitely try their spiced mocktails. They are really unique and not the usual overly sweet fruit mixes you see everywhere.

All the staff were extremely kind during my visit and the food came out really fast. Great experience overall.

The Decorations of this restaurant is really nice. The service was excellent. We will return when our next trip to. I had great aprons that you put on when you’re having dinner makes a great picture  thought that was a really cute idea. Also, at the end they gave you this box with herbs in it. We tried it has an interesting taste

We celebrated my husbands birthday with a Sunday roast. Our server Lovpreet was amazing and helped us with recommended cocktails from the bar manager Ahmit. The bespoke cocktail at the end of the meal was a true pallet cleanser. A mix of cucumber and citrus flavours it should be on the menu! Overall 10/10 experience will be coming back again to try the main menu.

Ordered a custom bowl with rice, chicken, salad and various toppings and sauces. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, guiding me through the order process. Ingredients were good quality and tasty and the meal felt filling. Cost: £11.95. Intending to visit again to treat myself to a healthy lunch!

Cute place with healthy food. Really good for vegans. You assemble your own salad which is always nice.

I took a half-day off today, and on my way home, I stopped by to pick up my favorite salad bowl, which I had ordered online. I got a message saying my order was ready, so I walked into the store—only to find two staff members chatting inside the kitchen, completely ignoring me. Was saying hello really that hard?

One of them barely acknowledged me with a glance, as if to say, Oh, you’re here?—but didn’t bother asking me anything. So I told them I was here to pick up my order. No response. Instead, she just jutted her chin in a vague direction, basically telling me to check over there. I mean… does she not know how to speak?

I simply asked if I could just take my order. She finally opened her mouth and went, Yeah?—with a tone that said, Why are you even asking? Oh. My. God. That was the first time I actually heard her voice 🤩

Truly an amazing experience

A bit of a queue but well worth it for excellent food and ingredients you would be unlikely to think of making at home. The servers are friendly and helpful. Lots of repeat customers. Both excellent vegan, vegetarian and full on meaty options. Nice range of soft drinks.

If you want to feel a truly Korean atmosphere in London, this restaurant is perfect! I strongly recommend this restaurant as Korean. The restaurant has such an authentic vibe, and the food tastes just like real Korean dishes. I especially recommend trying the plumade! In Korea, it’s even known as a digestive drink, and here it pairs perfectly with the meal, refreshing, sweet, and tangy. In addition, the owner and staff are incredibly kind and welcoming. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to experience not just the taste, but also the warmth and spirit of Korea

Very good and cosy Korean restaurant. We ordered a bunch of of starters and everything was delicious:
-korean fried chicken: extremely crispy and tasty (preferred the spicy one over the soy one)
-kimchi pancake: top notch, decent portion
-toppoki (rice cake) were very spicy, only for the brave
Finally mains were tasty too. Prices very reasonable. Booked in advance for a large group.

This is my third time at this restaurant and I strongly recommend. The food quality is top, the people are very friendly and help whenever needed. The space is cozy and welcoming.

Tohbang is a decent Korean restaurant with a calm and relaxed vibe. The staff were friendly and polite, which made the experience pleasant. I tried the Squid Game box for £16.90—fun idea, but the portion felt quite small for the price. The food overall was okay, though it lacked the bold flavors I usually expect from Korean cuisine. One downside was the ventilator blowing directly at our table, which made it a bit uncomfortable while eating. Still, a decent spot if you're nearby.

Enjoyed the incredible meal for a friend's birthday. We had the BBQ special... And it was more than enough for 4 with left overs. Staff were super kind and accommodating. Takes through the menu and how to eat certain dishes.

Indian food. We came by for dinner cos we were staying nearby visiting London. The food is pretty good and service was commendable, though we came a bit early so we're not sure if the single attendant would be overwhelmed with a larger crowd. Authentic but also somewhat a summary of all Indian food, with a combination of North and South dishes - at least to a Southeast Asian's experience with Indian food, this was pretty good for the price.

We like the Sag Paneer.

I planned my team Xmas dinner, with a hope to have a good time with everyone.

There are no staff to take order or serve the food. Drinks order at the beginning did not arrived till starters are finished, then eventually we have to cancel the drink order.

More then 40/45 mins take for main course and meanwhile some of the team member left without food.

Very poor service and experience in middle of central London.

My Christmas Day dining at Salaam Namaste didn’t quite live up to expectations, particularly in light of other positive reviews. Here are some areas where it fell short:

•	The starters included some gristle, which was a bit off-putting. We chose not to try a replacement.
•	The portions were a bit smaller than anticipated for two people, and there was a slight mix-up with the rice, but it wasn’t a major issue.
•	The Christmas pudding and coconut ice cream (which tasted similar to vanilla) were not as impressive as hoped.
•	There were minor service delays, like waiting for plates and spoons for our pudding, but these were resolved fairly quickly.

The staff were quite friendly, though the standard 12% service charge seemed a tad high given the overall experience. The non-acceptance of American Express was a minor inconvenience, considering the location.

The experience didn’t quite match the enthusiastic reviews I’d read, leaving a bit of a gap between expectation and reality. While not awful, the meal and overall experience, especially considering the £155 cost, didn’t quite capture the festive spirit I had anticipated. It was an alright experience, but not as memorable as I had hoped for a Christmas celebration.

The food was nice, but as an Indian I would say it could have been better, specially with the main course.

I visited with one of my Dutch colleague, who was trying the Indian cuisine for the first time. The starters, Chicken Tikka and Sheekh Kebeb were really nice. But the main course we ordered, although I won’t say it was bad, but it did not meet the expectations for sure. The butter chicken was more like a dessert, being too sweet, although the name says “Motimahal Butter Chicken”, to be honest it was no where close to Motimahal (the restaurant which originally created the dish). Second main course was “Hyderabadi Mutton Biryani”, and I specifically asked the waiter if it is really a “Dum Biryani” as you are stating it is a Hyderabadi Biryani, and he had no clue what a Dum Biryani is.

In short, the names of the dishes on menu, does give some high expectations, but doesn’t match up to it.

Really tasty Indian! Very flavorsome indeed. Will be going back!

Kanada-Ya 金田家

I had the Truffle Ramen with added complementary toppings and started with an Onigiri filled with chashu. I liked the rice ball itself, but the pork filling was quite hard and did not feel like it was slow cooked at all. I ordered my noodles "barikata" (very firm) but they came out very soft, almost overcooked. It might be because they use very thin noodles, either way it was not what I expected. The broth was not very nice either. It had a strange olive-like bitterness that did not complement the noodles or toppings.

The chashu pork loin in the ramen was hard and not tender at all. As for the truffle, it tasted cheap and left an unpleasant stank on my breath for hours. I know truffle is strong, but this did not taste like good truffle. I also do not like that you have to pay extra to add an egg when the ramen is already pricey.

The service was pretty average and they seemed bothered.

I was particularly disappointed with this dish, but I might try another ramen on a future visit to see if it is better.

I visited Kanada-Ya in London with a group of people, and while the ramen was absolutely worth trying, be prepared to queue, we waited more than 30 minutes in line before getting seated. The place is small and very popular, so the wait makes sense, but it’s something to keep in mind if you’re hungry.
Once inside, the vibe is cozy and minimal, very much a no-frills ramen shop focused on the food. I ordered their tonkotsu ramen and it delivered: rich, creamy broth, great noodle texture, and really flavorful toppings. It’s clear why people keep coming back.
Seating is a bit tight, but the food comes out quickly once you’re in.

If you’re looking for your new favourite London ramen then look no further. We got the Tonkostu X ramen (decadent, silky and fatty), Chicken Chashu ramen (proper chicken smack of flavour) and ebi katsu (eat asap, they’re crazy juicy when hot!). Firm and regular noodles. Not too salty.

10 mins wait outside in line. Grab a seat near the window and watch the world go by.

Enjoyed the chicken katsu curry for lunch. But there was a construction going on right in front of the restaurant very loud and dusty, I was stressed. Also when it was getting crowded, felt stuffy wouldn’t want to stay longer. Probably suitable for a quick lunch only.

I’m really disappointed that the taste is not as good as before 🥲 (i was a regular here since 2015-2018) and I used to think that this is the best ramen ever. But now the ramen itself is not as thick as before, so the flavors aren’t that rich. The waiting time is long as always (came in at dinner time). But well the karaage was a win though 👌 love the wasabi sauce so much.
