Very disappointing experience. I ordered food from KFC at mile end and found feathers in the chicken wings. This raises serious concerns about hygiene and quality control. It was extremely off-putting and unacceptable from a global food brand. I’ve reached out to report the issue and hope it’s taken seriously. Definitely not what you expect when paying for a meal.

Nice and quiet on my visit. Served quickly and tasted good. My only issue was being served the ice-cream before the main meal.

Didn't want to take my order, kept pointing me to a screen telling me to order there when I'm stood at the counter, all the staff were just standing around. I said can I just order here, you're here in front of me now at that point I’ve decided I would not order and just go then the girl opened it till then I wanted my  five year old daughter to order their chicken popcorn girl just turned around and said we don’t have popcorn chicken anymore. Finish how could that be? It’s one of the busiest day of the year you got the carnival around corner taking place today, and the station right there and they said they don’t have it anymore. What a disappointment. What a joke a chicken shop doesn’t have chicken.

Very disappointed with my recent visit to this KFC. I paid extra for drinks, but later realized they had only filled the cups with the same amount as a regular size, just poured it into a larger cup. That’s completely dishonest and feels like a scam. I didn’t notice until I got home, so I didn’t have the chance to bring it up at the time. One of the female staff members, wearing a hijab, possibly the manager, handled my order. This kind of service is unacceptable, and I won’t be returning if this is how paying customers are treated.

Absolutely disgusting. I feel like I want my ten pound back, total thieves. The food was horrible. All the chicken had been cut off the chicken portions that had been coated in their original recipe coating. Even the legs had had 80 percent of the meat cut off them. Literally you are chewing on bones.

Absolute robbers... outrageous

HFA has certified KFC's products in these stores, and the store environments, as halal. KFC has also ensured that the halal certified chicken would also meet the rigorous animal welfare standards employed in the UK, and has consulted leading animal welfare groups about this. KFC insists that all poultry is stunned before slaughter. HFA allows the use of a technique called 'stun-to-stun' - a pain free process that makes the animal insensible to pain and suffering. A verse is also recited from the Quran at the point of slaughter by an appropriate person and the poultry will not come into contact with non-halal meat at any point in the supply chain. KFC only buys high quality, Grade A, farm-assured chicken from trustworthy suppliers, and this will not change.

Blu Ivy Cafe

The food here is absolutely gorgeous and everything is plated like it’s ready for a magazine shoot. Definitely a spot for people who appreciate the art of brunch.

A drawback is that it’s a bit tricky to get to from the station, so give yourself a few extra minutes. It’s near a gorgeous canal so the route will definitely be worth it.

I’ve been here a couple of times throughout the years and the quality has been consistent.

Lovely place with the pretty pink colour being the main theme! Food came quickly and was nice.

However, mine was slightly cold and my friend’s vegetarian order was completely wrong (but she was fine eating it luckily).

We popped in for a matcha latte on our way to the park and took the opportunity to check out the menu at this cute café. The staff were friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The latte was reasonably priced at £4.50 and well-prepared. The café itself is charming, with a diverse brunch menu that includes halal and vegan options. We will come back soon to try brunch here. It's a lovely spot conveniently located along the Regent’s Canal, near Victoria Park.

Update Sept 2025

We have been a few times since back from holiday. The place is a cute cafe right on the regents canal just off the south west corner of Victoria park. We popped in for a macha a few weeks ago on the way to the Victoria Park market, and the the latte was really good for a reasonable price (around 4.50GBP) so we decided to come back from brunch last week, and as it was good food, we decided to come again this week. They have comfy tables and chairs inside and if the weather is good you can enjoy the canal view from the open terrasse, where they have one covered table. The menu is quite big, my recommendation is the purple latte (it's made with sweet potato powder) and the matcha latte. They have plant based milks available, oat and coconut for sure, but I assume they have almonds too. I normally get mine with coconut milk. The eggs benedict we had last week was very good, the halal turkey bacon complements the eggs and sauce really well, and the french toast does not just look sublime but tastes great too! Most food items are around the 15GBP mark so not expensive given the quality. Both drinks and food are highly recommended. They have very attentive and friendly service too. We have been regurals here since the Ragged School cafe closed for a few weeks.

Nestled right by the canal, this café is an absolute treasure! The setting alone is enough to make you fall in love – so peaceful and picturesque. I recently had brunch here with my girl mates, and it was the perfect spot for catching up and enjoying a leisurely afternoon. What truly stands out is their incredible food. I had the pleasure of sampling the crispy roti with herbs and potatoes, and it was seriously amazing. Perfectly crispy with a delicious filling, it's a must-try! I was served by Dee, who was so lovely and made the experience even better. This place is ideal for a relaxed brunch with friends or a cosy afternoon treat. It's definitely worth a visit!

The food was absolutely delicious, as were the drinks.... and the carrot cake… my word, divine! There’s outdoor seating, making it very dog friendly, with a lovely atmosphere and excellent service. My dog even received a little treat upon arrival.

Will most definitely be returning!
