It’s a cool vibe cafe but the food and coffee actually live up to the hype.

Coffee very nice.

Rueben sandwich, well balanced flavours, tasted like good quality filling and the bread was crisp on the outside whilst being soft on the inside.

Everything croissant - incredible, the filling had a very subtle lemon hint to it which made it very light.

Everything was great so we ended up getting a cookie and croissant blondie to go which were also yummy!

Pollen at Kampus never disappoints. The pastries here are genuinely next level – beautifully laminated, rich, buttery, and packed with flavour. The square pastry with pear on top was incredible, perfectly balanced sweetness with a delicate crunch, and every bite felt carefully crafted. The other bakes looked just as tempting and tasted every bit as good.

The coffee is excellent too – smooth, well-balanced, and finished with lovely latte art, whether you’re sitting in or grabbing an iced coffee to go. Everything feels thoughtfully done, from the presentation to the quality.

The chicken katsu sandwich was amazing, very juicy and not overly heavy. Pumpkin spiced latte was good as well, not too sweet. The kimchi cheese sandwich was a but too sour and oily. And the cranburry ice tea was soso, felt like concemtrated juice mixed with water. But still would definitely recommend the katsu sandwich and pumpkin spiced latte.

We had a lovely breakfast here. The food was delicious and served promptly. We liked that there were choices from the bakery counter or the menu. The cookie is one of the best I’ve had as was the all day croissant. Genuinely great breakfast spot!

We, a Japanese couple, had a wonderful experience at this restaurant.

Pollen Bakery

My favourite bakery in Manchester. I used to get my sourdough there a couple of times a week (for me, it’s the best in a very competitive field!) and loved working my way through their pastries and sweet treats. The staff are the absolute best—so friendly and warm. I also love the location; it’s full of natural light, overlooking the marina, with outdoor seating for sunny days. The cooked breakfasts are excellent too. Honestly, everything I’ve had here has been top drawer. 🥐

One of the best breakfast we ever ate! Lovely place,fresh ingredients,super tasy. Especially recommend to try egg benedicts and homemade hashbrowns with kimchi sauce!!! They have also good coffee and fresh pastries🫠

I absolutely loved Pollen Bakery! The bakery items are a must-try. I had the halloumi & eggs dish and a cinnamon roll, and both were fantastic. The flat white was smooth and perfectly made. Everything tasted fresh and delicious, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. The place itself is quite small, so it can get busy and finding a table might be tricky. I went early in the morning when they opened and managed to find a spot right away. Definitely worth a visit, and I’ll be back for sure next time I’m in Manchester.

Delicious food!! So good! I would have bought one of their massive sourdough breads that look so tasty but I had no room to take it. A little warm inside, a fan would do well there on hot sunny days. Free self-water, kind service, take your time here as on busy days it is slower. Beautiful being by the riverway.

Came for my birthday brunch with my friends. I had the lemon and blueberry french toast and they both had the hash brown bun. All of the food was absolutely delicious and the coffees were delectable. Shout out to the server who gave me a free cake for my birthday, it made my day!! We will definitely be returning to try out more of the menu!

The Flat Baker

This was our second visit to The Flat Baker in Ancoats recently, and the first time we’ve dined in at their lovely cafe rather than just grabbing takeaway.

My wife and I popped in this morning and opted for their signature savoury items. I finally tried the Sweet Chilli Cheese swirl – with its chilli sauce, spring onions, and mozzarella all wrapped in that signature soft, buttery dough with a perfectly flaky exterior. It was exceptional and unlike anything else you’ll find in Manchester – a real unique treat!

But my absolute favourite remains the Feta and Wilted Spinach swirl, which we’ve ordered before and had to get again today because it’s just so delicious. Similar construction but with those tangy feta and spinach flavours – both are standout items on the menu.

We paired them with an oat milk flat white, which was hands down the best we’ve had anywhere (personal taste, of course!).

There were plenty of tempting pastries on display, but we stuck to the savoury signatures this time. The Flat Baker is a must-visit on the Manchester food scene – highly recommended for breakfast, brunch, or just a delicious coffee and treat. We’ll be back soon!

Feels a bit overrated and overpriced compared to other bakeries in Manchester or Liverpool. We tried the popular pistachio croissant — the filling was generous and tasty, but nothing special, more like a good supermarket pistachio paste. The croissant itself was decent but not very flaky.

The tiramisu was interesting with croissant layers and a chocolaty or caramel-like cream, but we couldn’t really taste the coffee or wine flavours. The coffee, however, was the best part — rich and nutty with a nice Brazilian bean flavour. The spinach and feta swirl was slightly disappointing with very little feta, and the Nutella cruffin was overly sweet with too much sugar and not much pastry flavour.

Staff were friendly and the café felt cosy, especially on a rainy day, but dine-in prices are quite high compared to other bakeries in the city.

The best croissant in all of Manchester, maybe even the UK. The pistachio one is incredibly good and flavorful. We also tried the lemon one, which is definitely worth it too. The place itself is very pleasant, especially on sunny days

We were expecting the croissant to be served with ice cream, but upon arrival, we were informed that it’s only available during summer—not in winter. We ended up ordering the pistachio croissant instead, but it was just average, and the price felt slightly on the expensive side.

Might give it another try in the summer if I’m back in Manchester!

I've tried all three of their vegan bakes - Tonka cookie, Cinnamon Swirl and Banana Walnut loaf and all of them were 10/10. I put a candle on the cookie fory birthday, it's thick, doughy and had the best chocolate in it. And was only a couple of quid, their coffee is quite affordable too.

The new cafes are much appreciated addition to having to wait in the cold, be aware on weekends  there Normally is a long queue, lots of runclubs and people go here for breakfast! However, it goes down reasonably quickly. The staff are always friendly and helpful -  they do seem always a bit tired.

They always have a very wide selection of food. However, I really wish they'd rotate some of the vegan options, it's a bit frustrating seeing these awesome new bakes - pistachio croissant - but vegans, dairy free individuals have the same thing. Also oat milk is 40p extra, I understand the price for coffee is low but it's annoying.

That being said, it's a great place to quickly pop around if you're in Ancoats, it's for some good cake.

Gooey Bakery + Café

Food was very tasty, with an interesting menu that I’d like to come back to soon. We tried the Classic Reuben, Egg sandwich and Bacon sandwich, as well as coffee and teas. All were absolutely lovely and staff were very kind and accommodating when asked if we could get extra Reuben sandwiches to go. Atmosphere overall was very friendly, though some tables could have been cleaned quicker. Otherwise, we had a great time and I’d love to come back to try the famous french toast!

Best bacon sandwich I have ever tasted. Took the kids here, they tried the French toast. Simply wow. Breakfast at Gooey is now an essential part of any foodie trip to Manchester. You have to try the bacon sandwich.. That brown sauce - so good!

I wasn’t expecting too much from this café at first, as I thought it was just another influencer spot — but it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise! What impressed me most was actually their savoury food, which was absolutely delicious and even better than many savoury restaurants I’ve tried.

The katsu sandwich and crispy prawn bun were both full of flavour. With my Asian palate, I noticed the stir-fried veg tasted a bit like Cantonese-style sauce, which I really enjoyed. The katsu sandwich was perfectly balanced in flavour, and the prawn bun was juicy and thick — just a little salty, so make sure to have it with the bread in one bite. I was genuinely shocked (in a good way!) at the first bite — I’m sure you’ll feel the same.

We didn’t try the cookie, so can’t comment on the sweet options. The Kinder donut was good, though not particularly special. We planned to try the Reuben sandwich but didn’t this time — it seemed popular, so check other reviews for that one.

The only downside was the service — not sure if I’m happy with it, as there’s always a queue outside but the table turnover seemed quite slow. The online ordering system also felt a bit sluggish, which might have caused the queue. It made the experience a bit less pleasant despite the great food.

All in all, I’ll definitely be coming back for the savoury dishes again soon!

We felt genuinely welcomed from the moment we arrived. The staff checked in on us throughout the meal, clearly explained the menu, asked about allergies, and gave solid recommendations on what to order.

The food arrived promptly and was exactly as expected. The quality was excellent across the board. The French toast is clearly the standout and seems to be the most popular item on the menu, and the pastrami sandwich was also top-notch.

Overall, the value for money was very good and I would highly recommend this place.

I can never forget this French toast from gooey. It was genuinely the best French toast I’ve had. The flavours are so incredible and the texture is unlike anything you will have had before. One thing I must admit is that we selfishly ordered a French toast each. This was not a good idea. Despite being very good, it gets hard to eat after a while and it is much better shared between 2 or even 3 people. Don’t be gluttonous. We also got the pumpkin spice filled donuts which were good too. Just be careful how much you order otherwise you’ll walk out in a genuine food coma

La Chouquette Didsbury

I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars. Could possibly be the best sausage roll and almond croissant I have ever eaten. You do pay for it but wow is it worth it. The young lad that served us was very nice and helpful. We haven’t tucked into the sourdough loaf yet, but it looks amazing. We will certainly be back and will recommend to all of our friends. Ps, the picture is of an empty box because I couldn’t wait 😂

My fav French pastry in UK! Recommended by my French friend and I’ve visited twice, trying my best to devour as much as I can lol. I am obsessed with their flans and almond croissants! My favourite bakery shop in Manchester ❤️!  Love both the sweet and savoury items. Friendly staff there and nice environment. It can be very busy during weekends. BTW,  they have the massive croissant (need to be ordered in advanced) which is amazing. Their seasonal desserts are always lovely.

Best pastries and bread I’ve tasted in the uk. Defiantly good fresh ingredients quality and freshness is up there! Very busy - and expensive but it’s justified!

I have consistently purchased your cakes and breads, and you have always met my expectations. However, this birthday cake has left both me and my kids very disappointed. The cake I received is very different from the photo provided. Besides, the taste and texture are worse than those from supermarkets. I really can’t eat it.

Levenshulme Bakery

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Exceptional Bakery with the Best Samoon Bread in Manchester 🔴

Levenshulme Bakery is a real gem everything here is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. The highlight for me has to be their Samoon bread: soft on the inside, beautifully golden on the outside, and baked to perfection. It’s warm, fluffy, and perfect with just about anything or even on its own straight out of the bag.

The bakery also offers a great range of Middle Eastern pastries, flatbreads, and savoury treats, all at very fair prices. The staff are always welcoming and happy to help, even when it’s busy. You can tell this place is loved by locals and for good reason.

If you’re in Levenshulme, don’t miss out on this spot. The Samoon alone is worth the trip!

Chicken sharwama on samoon was delicious.
Good variety of salad and sauces and the price was fair.
Chicken fatayar was edible and average.
Ordered a large chips and the portion was given sparingly.
Please fill the tray and don't be so tight.
Customer service was poor but polite, staff told me to wait 10 mins, no probz so I went outside stood next to the window where he can see me but didn't call when the order was ready.
Place can do with a renovation. Parking was a nightmare.
Warning to a south asian customer, the food is more suited to a Arab or English palate therefore don't expect a Chicken doner naan type of sandwich.
It's more towards the bland side. 😜

Had to try this after a recommendation and I wasn't disappointed. The lad on the front was cheerful and made me feel welcome.

so I chose the mix of chicken and lamb shawarma  in a fresh  fluffy tasty samoon bread with salad and it was perfect. And only a fiver as well

Then chose the halloumi tray with chips and salad including hummus, pickled cabbage and other healthy fresh veg tables .

The halloumi is the best I have ever had no joke.

Absolutely fabulous food and great value would highly recommend and will be back.

Vegan Infinity - Raw Vegan Cakes & Treats

Been a while however my partner got me a Birthday cake from Vegan Infinity and honestly it was superb. I've been here a few times now and it never disappoints!. Everything tastes so devine, I have nothing bad to say.
I would definitely recommend, especially if you have major food allergies.

The only “clean and allergen friendly” bakery I’ve found. Gluten, dairy, soy, and refined sugar feee. It doesn’t get better than this. And let me tell you, everything tastes phenomenal. You can tell it’s high quality ingredients. My favorites are the bannofee pie and the snickers cake. Love love love!

These raw chilled cakes are absolutely, body meltingly delicious! 🍰🍰

I had the Tiramisu cake pictured at the Northern Vegan Festival. It was amazing!

The great thing about these cakes is that they are so nutritious your dessert cravings will be satisfied immediately!

We ordered a selection of cakes on Friday evening, and we received confirmation that we could receive them the next day, so we were really impressed with how quickly we could collect the cakes. On top of that, we decided to order some more on the way over, and were able to collect them at the same time, so amazing service.

My partner and I are both gluten and lactose intolerant, so it was great to find a dessert business which can cater to these. The Trio Chocolate Cake, and the Vanilla & Berry Crumble Jam Cheesecake really stood out, and the cheesecake is one of the best that I have ever had and it is just perfectly balanced.
We will definitely be ordering again in the future!!

My wife absolutely loved her lemon and raspberry celebration cheesecake. I will definitely be ordering from here again. The chef is a lovely lady aswell. Would definitely recommend 👌🏻
