I'm working back near Leather Lane this week again after a year away. The famous market is one of my favourite places in London for lunch, there are soo many halal options now, even more so than when I last was here. We are talking street food, restaurants and cafes. Love it here .

Whilst walking up and down the market spending most of my lunch break on what to eat I spotted that @tongue_and_brisket had a halal sign in the window. So I had to finally try a salt beef sandwiche. They also have a beef bagel as well. I sampled the roast beef and salt beef, but opted for the salt beef as its something different .

Price is £5.90 for a small sandwich, nothing really special. Pretty simple. With so many choices around I doubt I'll try again, but at least there's finally a place to try salt beef. I confirmed that the meat in all locations is halal and is purchased from Spitalfields Market

I was taking my friend around Leather Lane, the area, the lovely and very busy food market, lovely coffee shops...etc.
We settled for Tongue & Brisket.
I knew it before and I was glad to go back.
It is a very busy place, especially for take away.
But the service is friendly and fast. We decided to eat inside, as they had a free table on our visit.
We both had the Reuben  sandwich.
It was fantastic, tasty, soft, and a good portion. We also took some fish balls - lunch deal at £ 15.00 for sandwich, fish  balls, and a soft drink.
It was a perfect lunch.
But you have a lot of choices to buy from, all style of cusines... The main issue is that you have very limited space to sit outside in the area, especially on sunny weather, unless you go back to your office...
Highly recommended...

Solid Reuben Sandwich, 4.3 stars. Non-fuss, very friendly service. Found this on my lunch break, large was enough. Lots of meat and fresh fillings.

I was disappointed with my Reuben because of the star of the show - the beef. There was no moisture left in it and the sauces weren’t enough to make it up to a 4/5. It sounds like I got unlucky - will make another trip in the future!

Tender and tasty salt beef and tongue sandwich. Bread soft. Served quick and hot. Good portion for £7.50 (regular), and the sandwich can be customised to your needs without extra charges (I wanted to try two meats in one sandwich, and you can even have 3, though it isn't recommended cos of the different texture of roast meat). Would revisit.

Been here today a bit early and had a nice talk with the guy working there. I got the first cut of the day and it was really delicious. The cole slaw also was refreshing. Should fit nice with the chicken schnitzel as well. Will come back here!

We've had to change some of our suppliers since COVID19. Our salt beef and tongue is no longer Halal. But all other meats such as roast turkey, roast beef, chicken schnitzel, chopped liver and chicken soup are all still made with Halal meat.
