I highly recommend trying Roti King if you've never tried Malaysian food! The food was incredible and the service was very friendly. There are a couple of downsides though. There are not many seating options, so you are basically touching back to back with your table neighbors which makes the atmosphere very claustraphobic. You cannot book in advance, so be prepared to wait in line outside. I only waited about 15-20 minutes for a table of 4 before being seated which felt very reasonable. I would also not recommend if you can't handle some spice! Aside from those things, Roti King had an absolutely delicious rendang. It was incredibly flavorful and filling. The spinach and cheese murtabak (not pictured) is a must try and great for sharing, and the planta and kaya desserts are the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. I could dream about the kaya with how wonderful the filling was. The coconut ice cream was delicious and perfectly balanced. Overall, I would absolutely dine at Roti King again.

Roti King is London’s go-to spot for authentic Malaysian comfort food 🇲🇾✨. Nothing fancy — just comfort food. Famous for its flaky, buttery roti canai served with rich curries, it’s the kind of meal that hits all the right nostalgic notes. The menu also packs favorites like nasi lemak, beef rendang, and mee goreng — bold, hearty flavors at very reasonable prices. 🍛🔥 The vibe is no-frills and always buzzing, especially since it’s tucked just by Euston in Somers Town 🚇🍴. Service is fast and efficient, portions are generous, and the food is consistently satisfying. A must-visit if you’re craving true Malaysian flavors in the heart of London. 🌆💙

Visit here as craving to Malaysian food and it is quite unique to find Malaysian style food in London. Overall taste is just average if to compare for those nice local Malaysian food. Plus, the ingredients here are different from local Malaysia, do expect some distance with local Malaysian nice food with this place. Teh Tarik is a bit too sweet and tastes different due to the different milk used. Nasi Lemak is not bad, but Sambal not sweet enough, but spicy, the rest are average. Nasi Goreng is spicy but was good in taste. Kangkung Belacan is a bit too salty, but when eating together with other dishes, then is good. Waitress’s service is good and quick to serve the food within 20minutes. Quite crowded shop and small tables and near to other customers at table beside. Had to queue for around 30minutes to enter.

Like many people, I’d heard great things about this unassuming place and had often walked past many people queueing expectantly outside. We decided to try it out this weekend and it was definitely worth the wait. We queued for about 20 minutes. The food was very affordable (especially for central London) and delicious. The Beef Rendang is a must try, and we ended the meal by sharing a jam roti with coconut ice cream. The staff were friendly and we never felt rushed despite a growing queue of excited people outside. Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back.

Really great food, at a great price in an intimate location. The cramped basement eatery with the constant queue down the street clues you in that you're in for a treat. Several great options. Loved the noodles (could be a bit hotter) and the sweet banana roti for dessert. Just next to the British Library so perfect for scholars after a long day of research. Service was fast and very kind. Definitely coming back.
