My wife’s been telling me how she used to go to pie factory a lot when she was in Uni, and it was one of her fav spots - I’ve eaten there before and wanting some nostalgia decided to visit today. First of all I want to mention that the service was good. The people were polite, and friendly, but the owners have defo changed. We saw masala wings on the menu, and being fans of masala chips ordered it straight away - it looked unappetising, and didn’t taste much better. It was raw masala thrown over some not so great wings, we disliked it so much that had to return it, no redeemable quality, but they were nice enough not to charge us for it. The pie was actually quite nice, 7/10, the accompanying veg on the other hand was poor and flavourless, 3/10, didn’t taste bad but wasn’t good. Personally won’t be visiting again, but wouldn’t dissuade others from visiting, would say give other items on the menu a shot.

Nice cosy place 5 min walk from Aldgate east tube station. Come out of the station pass brick lane on your left. Walk straight, and it's on your left. The food was nice. Had the Beef Lasagne with a side of wedges. It was awesome! Texture/taste was nice and felt like it was freshly prepared. Just like Momma's. The chicken curry pie that the Mrs ordered was a different story. Didn't really like it. Neither did she. Tasted like bits of chicken in a garam masala paste. To be fair, Mrs wanted some chicken as we missed the breakfast at 12.30pm. Service wise was fine wait time was about 10-12 Mins. Went on a Saturday morning around 13.00 ish so wasn't busy at all. Over all good halal place to get some comfort food.

The place is quite small but serves cheap food. Hence why the portions are slightly smaller. Had the lamb pie which did need more flavour, but service was great! Payment only in cash.

Very kind staff and the food is NEVER a let down. It would be nice if you did card payments too 14/11/21 update. Im taking one star off because I and my friend came on Sunday only to find out that it was closed. Yet on google it says its open. Its wasted alot of our time and travel. We do not live close by so thats alot of travel money gone for nothing.

A really filling meal, VERY CHEAP, and with large portion sizes. The plain mash potato is a bit bland, but the gravy is a good substitute for flavour. The chicken and mushroom pie was delicious - creamy, saucy and very umami.
