Very disappointing experience. We visited on Monday evening with my family. The restaurant was quiet, with fewer than 10 tables occupied. Our Chicago-style pizza was made incorrectly and had to be remade. One staff member handled this professionally, which we appreciated. However, the main issue was the unequal treatment by another staff member. While we were briefly speaking on the phone, an older male staff member with a beard came over and asked us to lower our voices. At the same time, the table next to us—around five British customers—was speaking much louder and laughing constantly, yet no one said anything to them. We were the only Asian customers in the restaurant, and this selective enforcement made us feel clearly targeted and discriminated against. This kind of behavior is unacceptable and completely ruined the dining experience. Fairness and respect should apply to all customers, not just certain groups. I strongly urge management to address this incident seriously and provide proper staff training to prevent this from happening again

It was such an amazing experience! I went with my friends for an early dinner around 6 PM, and we mainly tried the Chicago-style Wicked Chicken Pizza — honestly, it was the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life! We also tried two or three other varieties, and each one was delicious, but the Wicked Chicken Pizza was definitely the star of the show. The flavors were incredible, and one pizza was easily enough for two people. Highly recommend trying the Chicago-style Wicked Chicken Pizza — it’s a must-have! 🍕🔥

My first Chicago style pizza and I was sceptical but it was really delicious. I definitely go again because there were so many more I wanted to try but it’s very filling. The only slight down was the salad which was very bitter and drenched in dressing. Lovely waiter too.

Great pizza and friendly staff! The pizza was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. The crust was perfectly baked and the ingredients tasted high quality. The staff were very kind and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. A great place to enjoy good pizza — I would definitely come back and recommend it to others.

Japes in Soho is one of my absolute favourite places to get pizza, and last night once again reminded me why! We were served by Nole, one of the main members of staff who is always there when we visit. He treated me and my friends with genuine respect, remembered us, and made us feel truly welcome. That level of consistency and personal care is rare. He even said, “We are friends now,” which is exactly the kind of thing that makes you want to keep coming back. He kindly gave us desserts as well, which was a lovely touch and very much appreciated by all of us. We come here regularly and recommend Japes to friends all the time. Quite a few of our friends have visited because of our recommendations, and they always say the same thing about the food, atmosphere, and service. There is a lot of consistency here, which really says everything about the place. The only small negative we have experienced is with one particular waiter. We have been served by her a few times, and every time it feels like she does not want to be here. We genuinely hope she manages to find peace in her life and eventually give better customer service. She even turned us away on New Year’s Eve with a lame excuse even though there were plenty of tables available. I myself come from a customer service background, so I understand how stressful high pressure environments can be, but that does not mean it should be taken out on customers. This does not take away from the overall experience enough to lower the rating, which is why this is still a full five stars. We were really hoping Nole would be working when we came in, and he was. The food was great, the service from him was excellent as always, and we all left happy and not disappointed at all. Japes remains one of our favourite pizza spots in London, and we will absolutely keep coming back.
