We were out shopping on Green Street on a Sunday and decided to stop for a bite to eat. After a quick Google search, this place came up with good reviews, and since Turkish food is one of our favourites, we decided to give it a try. The restaurant is situated more towards the top end of Green Street (Romford Road side), which was nice as it felt a little away from the hustle and bustle of the busier stretch. We arrived for an early lunch and were the first customers, which meant we had our pick of seating. We were warmly greeted and the service throughout was friendly and attentive. We ordered the mixed grill, which came with a generous selection of meats, chicken, wings, mixed doner, served with rice and naan. Alongside the main dish, we were given the traditional accompaniments of hummus, tzatziki, salad, and sauce dips. The portion size were good, the food was well cooked, and everything was full of flavour. To finish, we had Turkish tea, which was nicely presented. The food was reasonably priced compared to other Turkish restaurants we’ve visited. The restaurant itself was very clean, with tidy bathrooms and even baby changing facilities, which makes it a good choice for families. Overall, it was a really good experience, and we would happily return the next time we’re in the area.

An impromptu visit to Turquoise with work colleagues reminded me why I used to be a regular here. We opted for the chef’s special, a generous spread designed for four that not only satisfied everyone at the table but also left us with enough to take home. The drinks menu impressed, with the piña colada standing out as a highlight. While the cold meze was enjoyable though not the best I’ve had, the overall experience was excellent. My colleagues thoroughly enjoyed the meal, and the chilli sauce in particular deserves special praise—easily a 10/10. The service was good however we had to wave the waitress few times for attention and had to ask for more bread. Overall good choice for a last minute decision.

Today during my shopping trip to Green Street, I decided to try out Turkoise Restaurant for lunch. I’m glad I did! As I walked in, I was warmly greeted with a smile by a young waitress, which made a great first impression. The menu was already placed on the table, so I quickly decided to go with the Mixed Platter for Two. While the platter was being prepared, they kindly served us some fresh bread, hummus, salad, chilli sauce, and a variety of other sauces as a starter a very nice touch and much appreciated. The Mixed Platter itself included Adana kofte, lamb shish, chicken shish, and mixed doner. I felt the portion of mixed doner could have been a bit more generous, especially when paired with the rice. Other places I’ve visited offer slightly more variety for a similar price. That said, the overall service was excellent, possibly because it wasn’t a busy time when I visited. The staff were attentive and friendly throughout. The mango lassi was quite thick and could have been sweeter. It might have benefited from additional milk. I found it to be somewhat tangy. In terms of food, I’d say the platter was decent but not exceptional — not bad, but not outstanding either. However, I’m definitely open to trying other dishes on their menu. In my opinion, Turkoise stands out as one of the better restaurants on Green Street, especially when it comes to service. Final thoughts: Great service, good atmosphere, and a decent food experience. Looking forward to coming back and trying more!

My family and I stopped for an impromptu bite to eat here whilst shopping in Green Street. The food was really good both in taste and quality! Portion sizes were generous and the service was fantastic! Would recommend if you are in the local area and need somewhere to stop by for a bite :)
