I haven't had Ramen for a long time, and the last time I visited Kanada Ya was the Covent Garden branch. That place was packed but service was swift and it flowed smoothly. I visited the Haymarket branch on this occasion. My lunchtime order was the large Tonkotsu X Ramen and the green tea. The table is so small where I sat and with a companion, I would think the table will be crowded. The large felt small even, the chashu was thinly sliced. It would be a better mouthfeel if it was more thickly sliced. The broth was moreish, and tea was fine.

Food was delicious and authentic as were the drinks. I haven’t been to Kanada-Ya in a few years but it was just as good. The menu has also expanded but remained authentic. I will return.

I bought two plum rice balls. Since they were made fresh after I ordered, they were warm and I was happy about that. However, they weren’t firmly packed, so they fell apart easily. The taste, though, was good enough.
