Swiss Butter Holborn

I recently visited Swiss Butter in London with my family, and it was an exceptional dining experience focused on steaks and rich, flavorful gravies. From the moment we arrived, the warm and cozy atmosphere set the tone for a comforting meal. The staff were attentive and friendly, making sure we felt welcome and well cared for throughout our visit. We ordered several steak dishes, each cooked to perfection—juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The quality of the meat was evident in every bite, and the accompanying gravy was rich, smooth, and the perfect complement to the steaks. The portions were generous, leaving us fully satisfied without feeling overwhelmed. Alongside the steaks, the side dishes were thoughtfully prepared and fresh, adding great texture and balance to the meal. The menu offered just the right variety to keep things interesting but stayed focused on what they do best. Swiss Butter is a gem for steak lovers looking for a cozy spot in London where quality and flavor come first. It’s a great place for families or groups who want hearty, satisfying food in a relaxed setting. We left happy, full, and already planning our next visit.

Overall I give Swiss Butter a 3/5. Starting with the good. The service was excellent, prompt and accommodating. Atmosphere was great the aesthetics of the interior is warm and welcoming. The smell of the steaks grilling is also very pleasant. Food. Unfortunately my steak was semi warm and very chewy. My friends on the other hand was very tender but also semi warm. The butter sauce had a peculiar flavour. Might not be for everyone, certainly wasn’t for me. It almost tasted mustardy. Lastly, the wait is quite long. Took us an hour to get a seat. Over all the wait and food were the reasons for the lower score.

Tried to come on a friday night with other plans later in the evening…. no chance, people are still in the cue at 10pm it’s so busy. So we planned ahead and went on a Wednesday afternoon which was great, although it was still busy there was no cue and we sat down as we walked in. The waitress Rema was lovely, friendly and welcoming, recommended steak for my husband and brought the food with a smile. I had the chicken and we had the chocolate molten for dessert. All the food was delicious. wasn’t fatty, the sauce was nice. we would recommend and will 100% be back!
