Nando’s is always a great choice! The peri-peri chicken is flavorful and perfectly cooked every time. The menu has a good variety and the sides are just as delicious. I especially recommend the mac and cheese—it’s absolutely amazing! The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, the restaurant was very clean, and the staff were really great. Definitely recommend for a meal with friends or family.

We are regular customers at Whitechapel Nandos, we decided to try the Ilford Nandos for the first time. We had to wait over ten minutes to be seated, even though there were no other customers and the staff kept walking past us if we weren't even there. Finally I managed to get attention of one of the staff and had to ask if we can get a table! Once seated everything else went quite well. The staff really need to work on their customer services!

Honestly, this was the worst Nando’s experience I’ve ever had. I’m a big fan of Nando’s and usually enjoy the food and service, but Ilford Nando’s was extremely disappointing. From the start, there was no one to greet or welcome us. We stood at the counter but none of the staff made eye contact, so we ended up seating ourselves. After ordering through the app, we could clearly see our food sitting on the counter for over 10 minutes before anyone brought it over. By the time it reached our table, it was warm at best, not hot. The food itself was tasty as always, but the service completely let it down. Even when we ordered dessert, it took around 20 minutes to arrive, which is far too long. It’s obvious the staff need proper customer service training. Someone from Nando’s head office should really review the operations at this branch because it’s well below the standard expected. Sadly, we won’t be returning to Ilford Nando’s.

"I recently visited Nando's in Ilford with high expectations, and I'm thrilled to say that they exceeded them! The staff, particularly Guy, welcomed us warmly and made us feel right at home. As someone from India, I was impressed by the attentive service and Guy's friendly demeanor. But what truly stole the show was the food – oh, the glorious food! The PERi-PERi chicken was cooked to perfection, with just the right amount of spice. The sides, including the creamy mash and flavorful veggies, complemented the meal beautifully. The ambiance was lively and modern, with a vibrant atmosphere that added to our overall dining experience. In short, Nando's Ilford is a must-visit for anyone craving delicious, spicy food and exceptional service. Guy and the team truly know how to make their guests feel valued. Five stars, without a doubt!"

Extremely Disappointed with Nando’s Ilford Branch I had one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life at Nando’s Ilford. I visited around 16:35 and ordered a Full Family Platter for takeaway. The restaurant was almost empty — just a few other customers — so I expected the order to be straightforward. I watched the staff start cooking my food right away, and after about 10 minutes, everything seemed ready to be packed. When I politely asked if the order was mine, the supervisor, Ernisha, told me they were still waiting for the corn to finish cooking. However, I noticed there was no corn on the grill at that time. Around 10 minutes later, I reminded them again, and only then did I see a chef bring out frozen corn straight from the packaging and put it on the grill. As someone with restaurant experience, I could tell it was still frozen solid. Another staff member later pointed out the same thing and replaced the frozen corn with properly defrosted ones. By this point, my food had been ready and sitting there for over 20 minutes, but the corn still wasn’t ready. When I raised this with the supervisor, she didn’t apologise and claimed they were “very busy,” which wasn’t true since the restaurant was nearly empty when I ordered. She also told me there was no manager on duty, and that she was in charge. After waiting nearly 40 minutes in total, my corn was still not ready, and my food was completely cold. I finally asked for a refund, as the situation had become unacceptable. Even then, there was no proper apology or sense of responsibility from the staff. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience — poor service, bad management, and no care for customers. Nando’s Ilford seriously needs better supervision and staff training.
