We visited Plum Valley in Chinatown and were initially met with quite a queue, but it moved down quickly. The staff asked if we were happy to be seated in a separate room rather than the main restaurant, which we didn’t mind at all — the room was clean and quiet. Given how busy the restaurant was, I expected delays, but service was surprisingly efficient. The food arrived quickly, piping hot, and freshly made. There’s also a huge amount of choice — a full menu dedicated just to dim sum alongside another for starters and mains, so there’s plenty of variety for everyone. I tried their new lychee prawn balls, which had just been added to the menu that day. Personally, I found them a bit too chewy and didn’t think the pairing with the lychee sauce worked very well, but it was still fun to try something different. I also ordered the soup dumplings, which were packed with flavour, but my favourite had to be the chicken dumplings - perfectly made and incredibly tasty with the chilli oil & spring onion garnishes. Overall, it was a smooth and enjoyable experience with good service and lots of delicious options to choose from.

Plum Valley is one of those spots that feels a little fancier than your average Chinese restaurant, but still super welcoming. The vibe is sleek and modern, with dim lighting that makes it great for a date night or a nice dinner with friends. The menu is loaded with classic dishes, but they put a slightly upscale twist on everything, so even something simple like dim sum feels special. The cocktails are also worth a try—they’re creative and pair really well with the food. Taste-wise, it definitely delivers. The duck was crispy and full of flavor, and the dumplings were delicate but packed a punch. Prices are a bit higher than your usual Chinatown joint, but you can tell they’re going for quality ingredients and presentation, so it feels justified. If you’re looking for a spot that’s stylish without being stuffy, Plum Valley hits the mark.

The dim is very good. Enjoyed most of the dishes. Theres good aircon, the toilets are clean and service is fast and polite. Must try 57 whisker cod rolls, don't think you can get that anywhere else. Po Li Tea is very nice. Prices are reasonable. Very easy to order. They give you a sheet with prices listed which you mark how many dim sum you like. The full menu has pictures. Be sure to turn the sheet over to see main dishes available too. One of the sauces which came with one of the dishes was strange. It tasted like mango lassi

Food was very nice. It was clean and comfortable inside. Not pushy or dirty. Came recommended and would definitely come back here. I think reviews should be higher in general so glad we gave it a try.
