Ong Ong Buns: Maltby Street Market

I was very excited to try these unique buns, given the high reviews. However, the chicken curry bun was extremely disappointing. The bun did have a nice shine to it, but the filling was appalling. It tasted like a cheap, flavourless generic chicken curry. Although, I must say the staff were very friendly and welcoming. A very underwhelming experience unfortunately.

Wow, that Ong Ong Nom was really good! I’ve always passed by Ong Ong Buns whenever I’m around seven dials and I have been dying to try their buns. I’m happy I finally did!

Definitely worth dropping by here if only to get your hands on the Ong Ong Nom!

I also had the Chinese Pork Bun, which was made into a very cute paw shape and was quite tasty. The Korean Garlic bread was also nice, and is excellent if you like buttery garlic bread filled with cream.

Overall, highly recommended even though it is on the pricey side. They are a unique bakery and I love their Ong Ong Nom!

The most friendly bakery for Cantonese pastry. Family run business provides family like vibe. Lovely freshly baked pastries. Please support them and hope them find the next location very very soon!

Nice buns and offers fun flavours. However they are so over priced for what it is, pretty greasy as well.
I bought 3 for £11, one Chinese pork and 2 custard and coconut. It was definitely more bun than filling.
Fun to try, but probably won't be buying again at this price.

First visit here, staff was so polite, friendly and helpful.

Ordered the Korean Garlic bun, heard good things about it. Cost £3.80 and they popped it in a box for me with a fork.

I couldn't wait to try it, soft bun, with an abundance of garlic and flavours, only slight upset was, I thought it'd be a little more moist.

Will visit again to try out the other goodies.

Our chicken curry bun is halal. Sometimes we have kimchi cheeseburger and the beef is halal.
