Had dinner here with my cousin. The starter was the miso baked shrimp dumplings. The taste of the dish was very subtle despite the melted cheese on top. The flavours of the shrimp shone despite all the components of the dish. Not overally greasy and heavy but probably better to have it to share. The ramen I had was the lamb chashu. The broth was not as thick as I expected it to be (lamb and beef broth) but there is definitely the after mouthfeel from the lamb. Each component of the dish compliments well with each other but maybe the lamb meat on top is a bit too strong and overpowers the ramen when the entire dish is put together. Overall, it is nice and would probably order again if I visit here again. I tasted a bit of my cousin’s chicken sopas ramen and the flavours were a pleasant surprise as the chefs did well to incorporate the filipino adobo flavours in a ramen dish. A let down was that the bamboo shoots were inconsistent with varying length size and texture - some weren’t chewy all the way through and others were more tender. Service was very nice, attentive and friendly to talk to. The music selection fit the overall ambience and has some bangers coming on every few minutes. Overall, pretty enjoyable meal if you want to try something new with friends.

Ramo Ramen in Soho never disappoints! The pandesal garlic bread was a total wow, and I keep coming back for their katsu curry. They’ve got really good lunch deals too, and the staff are always so warm and welcoming, it’s such a great spot.

Everything about our visit was amazing, we were served by Mayar (going by the name on the receipt) who was so lovely and friendly, we were seated and served very quickly. The food was delicious and so unique, you won’t find flavours like this anywhere else. We started with the garlic bread which had a lovely sweet and salty taste, and was great to dip in the ramen broth. We also had the chicken wings which were sweet, slightly spicy and so crispy! Both of us went for the oxtail ramen, which was incredibly rich! The portion of oxtail is very generous and the peanut broth works so well with it, even the egg was so flavourful. As it is so rich it can feel quite heavy but I found this filling and indulgent, but there are lighter options if you prefer. It’s halal too- we will definitely be back!

Main was good but not excellent. Chicken ramen lacked spiciness and although was deep in flavour wasn’t delicious. The fried chicken katsu curry was good but the cucumber slices added no flavour to the dish and was so tiny in portion it was just there for decoration. The guava ade is literally just Rubicon diluted with sparkling water, do not get it. The dumplings were delicious though but extremely overpriced - £9 for 3 dumplings? Crazy. The garlic bread everyone apparently raves about is just a single brioche bun topped with a small amount of butter and chives. It is not worth it and is something anyone could make at home. Service was eh, while they can answer questions and smile they don’t provide proper service and when we requested for our food to come all together instead of appetisers first the waiter just said “its gonna come later” and disregarded us. Overall, for the price it wouldn’t be worth it.
