Pelican State Bloomsbury

I booked this restaurant for my wife’s birthday meal, after craving seafood boil for some months, and I was not disappointed.

The online booking process was extremely easy and I was sent a timely reminder of my booking, which was nice.

On arrival at the restaurant I was met by a member of staff and shown to my table, where the ordering process was explained to me. I really liked the fact that I was able to order online using a QR code.

There were a few other diners in the restaurant, but it wasn’t too busy, which was nice (went on a Tuesday evening FYI). The music selection was also incredible - I Shazamed 3 or 4 songs! 🤣 🎶

The food was delicious and extremely filling. I’d initially planned to get a larger platter, but I think that was definitely a case of my eyes being bigger than my belly, as I was completely stuffed half way through the meal!

Obviously it is a seafood boil restaurant, but the menu variety was impressive, with wings, burgers etc. also available. It was also good that you could easily add items to your order without much hassle.

Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would thoroughly recommend a visit!

Had seen many videos of this restaurant and finally visited last week. They have a huge variety of seafood options to choose from and it was tough to decide cause everything looked delectable. I ordered the Fried Seafood Platter , which was really very filling, flavourful. The Dip was perfect with the dish. My friend ordered the Grilled option and it was equally delicious. Tried one of their Cocktail mixers which was okay. Service staff is really very attentive and they made sure that we had a lovely dining experience.
Ambience is beautiful. I’m inclined to go back to try out the other dishes on the menu.

Service and ambience is good- order via a qr code. We got the fried seafood plate and the boil. All was good and ranch as well as mayo was nice. Fries were also good. Reasonably priced too at £40 for two.

Very few places surprise me, and this is one of those places. The food was super delicious. 👌.  We ordered 3 different platters, boiled, fried, and grilled, and all of them were absolutely tasty!. The shop was clean and neat, with very good ambience. The service was absolutely great!. The 2 girls that served us were incredibly polite, attentive, professional, and friendly, I really appreciate this kind of attention. I think the name of one of them was Misha, I really can't remember, but her performance was very good. The place is inside the Bloomsbury shopping centre and a few minutes from Russell Square tube. Resonable prices for a super meal full of flavour 👌

Ordered the daily signature catch, which was supposed to include calamari,  mussels, prawns,  a lobster tail, potatoes and corn on cob - the dish came with 2 missing items which are the lobster and corn.  I'm not sure how the kitchen could overlook them, but overall, the food was OK. The sauce was nice, though.

Service was minimal and not much of an atmosphere. Overall, the place was overrated. I don't think I will be going back anytime soon.
