The breakfast here is gorgeous. My friend also had the vegetarian option and they were really happy with their food. Great atmosphere. Would recommend.

I spent the weekend Manchester and would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys food, great service and a brilliant atmosphere. We ate brekkie, dinners and spent a few hours enjoying drinks.
We were served by Anna most of the time and she was brilliant too.

The coffee was nice but besides being seated and the first order taken, staff made me feel invisible, not sure what it was about me that was so off-putting. The place was nearly empty and I was alone, other patrons were checked up on around me while I was ignored. Very lonely experience, might have ordered more if I hadn't been made to feel so judged and unwelcome. I liked the music I guess.

We were looking for a nice brunch place around Manchester and ended up in Wilson’s as all other local places were full. We were seated but were sat for around 15 minutes with no service. We had to approach a member of staff to take our order. The food took around 20 minutes and so did our coffees. The food and drink itself was very nice and was reasonable for the price. There was a 10% service charge on the bill which was automatically added on however when I went to pay on the card machine the server had asked if I wanted to add anymore tip onto the bill! I declined as I already felt I overpaid by not asking them to take the 10% service fee off. Overall giving it a 3 stars out of 5.

The food, drinks and cakes in here are 😋 absolutely beautiful. Visited twice whilst in the area and its not disappointed. Excellent service both at the door and table. Good is well presented just a beautiful little place with wonderful staff 😀. Thank you

I went there with a colleague for the afternoon tea experience, and I absolutely loved it! The cakes were soft, delicious and beautifully presented. The tea tasted amazing and soothing, I highly recommend trying it with milk.

Amazing food and they were able to make gluten free french toast! Lots of milk options and alternatives. Staff were lovely and the atmosphere was cosy and lovely. They had gluten free cake options stored separately from non-gluten free items

5 stars – Absolutely phenomenal experience!

We had the most amazing time at this restaurant last night! Carman and her team were incredible — they looked after our party of four with such warmth and care. From start to finish, the service was flawless and made us feel right at home.

The vibe was absolutely beautiful — it genuinely felt like we’d been whisked away to Sicily. And the food? Unreal. Every dish was packed with flavour, but the pistachio pasta completely stole my heart. I need more of it in my life!

We were also celebrating a birthday, and the team went above and beyond to make it really special. It meant so much and just added to the magic of the night.

This is hands down my favourite restaurant in Manchester now. Can’t recommend it enough — we’ll be back very soon!

Absolutely beautiful food!
The Arancino starter I had, could quite possibly be the nicest starter I have ever had!
I had the cannelloni for main and that was equally as delicious!
And we had a couple of cannoli’s to finish off with, which was gorgeous.
Even the drinks were delicious, I had the homemade Sicilian lemonade, which wasn’t the usual, too sweet or too sour, it was refreshing and perfect.
We will definitely be returning x

Hands down the worst dining experience I’ve ever had. If you’re thinking of eating here — don’t. I went for my birthday and honestly, I wish I stayed home.

The food was an absolute disgrace. Nothing was fresh, everything tasted like it had been pulled out of a freezer and microwaved. We ordered garlic bread. No garlic, just rock-hard frozen bread. We paid an extra £4 for mozzarella, making it £10.50 for something that I wouldn’t even feed to a stray dog.

The staff clearly couldn’t care less. We had someone on crutches and still, they refused to move us to a more accessible table. They rushed us to leave by 6 PM, claiming another booking was coming — yet when we left, that table sat empty. Nothing but lies and attitude.

To make things worse, they shoved us next to the coat racks, so while trying to gag down the terrible food, we constantly had strangers leaning over us to grab their coats. Absolute chaos.

Staff were rude, slow, and seemed like they hated every second of being there — honestly, same.

The place was filthy too: dusty spider webs hanging over our heads, like a horror movie set.

Prices were outrageous for the garbage they served. It’s insulting they even call themselves an Italian restaurant

Spent a great evening here and food was authentic and great. LOVE the clam sauté (forgot to take photos haha), pasta and the tiramisu the most. Would definitely come with vegetarian/vegan friends again as they have multiple options of those.

Love love this place, nice boutique, cosy, loved there starter veggie platter for two, huge portion. For main I had the tagliatelle mushroom which needed loads more seasoning and Parmesan for depth of flavour, and all finished with sensational classic tiramisu. Merlot to wash it all down. Definitely coming back one day soon. Oh and great friendly service with a smile from the youngster.

Loved it! The eating area is really nice, it was really warm as it’s in a greenhouse type room but didn’t bother me and my friend too much. The food was really good, we wasn’t too impressed with the pizza but the sides were so so good… the pizza is good as well but had nothing on the sides… staff are really friendly!

This place was really nice. It's an extremely unorthodox setting, in a kind of timber clad marquee(see pic). Almost Xmas market vibes but fresh.

The food was an absolute delight. Everything was super tasty with lots of different interesting options. It came out quickly after we ordered too.

They knock out some top-tier cocktails aswell 🤌🏻🤌🏻

The 4 🌟 for service is because I think they need another member of staff or two to serve the amount of people. The service we had was excellent, but it's was a bit annoying trying to get the attention of someone to get served.

Anyhow, I'll definitely be returning 🙌🏻

I’m in two minds about Ramona’s. It is very loud but has a nice atmosphere with loads of chatting. The music is pretty good too. The pizzas tasted great and the chicken tenders were different but delicious. We visited when there was a deal on the pizza slices but I wouldn’t spend £4.50 per slice of pizza, that is a ridiculous ask. I would recommend but in my opinion it isn’t somewhere you’d stay all night just a quick slice of pizza and a pint then move on.

We had an incredible time at Ramona during our bottomless brunch! From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding—our waitress was so attentive, polite, and genuinely made sure we had the best experience. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, and her recommendations were spot on!

The drinks were absolutely amazing—expertly crafted and full of flavor. Coupled with the bottomless brunch, it was an unbeatable deal and fantastic value for money, which made the afternoon even better. The atmosphere was great, and we couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend our brunch.

The waitress was also very attentive in accommodating our friend’s dietary requirements and offered a substitute which made the whole experience even better.

We’ll definitely be back very soon. Highly recommend!

A great spot to go for a quick bite and a drink or strap in for a long haul of funk and high energy vibes. Staff were all very helpful and efficient, you must be seated to order food; however, orders are taken at the tills, so it was rather cheeky to have then charged service fee on both a drink and food separately. I had the Jabba slice and whilst light on the nduja, overall it was a light dough with crispy edges and great flavour combinations. I would definitely return and I recommended to all in a large radius.

Piccadilly Bakes

Incredible cookies and brownies! You get your money’s worth as they’re very dense and have tons of filling.

The red velvet cookie was absolutely amazing! It was so soft and had a rich white chocolate centre, couldn't get enough of it 🤤 we also really enjoyed the Brownie, rich chocolate with pieces of Kinder 👌🏽 the Lotus Brownie was also so good especially as it was warm and gooey and paired so perfectly with the ice cream, not too chocolatey so a perfect balance! Can't forget to mention the cookie pie! Never had something like this before, the filling was a rich nutella flavour, so creamy and delicious with the cookie!

It’s difficult to walk past their selection of cookies, brownies and bakes. I decided on a Milkybar Brownie, which was alright. My sweet tooth definitely rates the fares of other Manchester bakeries more highly! The server was too busy talking to someone else on the stall to pay me much attention.

Amazing little treats, I rarely buy cookies but this place definitely gets my money.

Chicken burrito with all the fillings was insane, I'd come back from Cornwall just for one of these. The Mexican cola was great as well, we can't get them in cornwall but I'm going to try and get them online somewhere. So much choice on this place and all very reasonably priced. Absolutely fantastic

They are the most authentic in the town. Their burritos are very tasty and have good spice levels.

Great food the large burritos are really large, had those once but second time i opted for kids size... They really are loaded. Really liked the slow cooked beef the first time i went second time had chicken, be good if they did kids size but with diffrent filling options meat wise the big ones are just too big for some of us

I know Mexican food very well! But sadly, this wasn't it. Despite all the amazing vegan options, I did not enjoy it enough to want to come back. A cafeteria style buffet with so many options. Guacamole was just a blended avocado. No salsa within. Not enough flavour, even with salsa. Disappointing as I have eaten Mexican food for 4 decades. Sweet staff.

I got the small size which was the perfect size for lunch without feeling like I was blocking myself 😂

Loved that you could choose 5 add-ins rather than the usual ones and pay extra for guac… Highly recommend!

OMG! Absolutely bloody gorgeous 😍 I was with my American friend, who, is somewhat of a cheese connoisseur, me, I just love cheese 🧀, WOW! It was amazing, fantastic staff, who i can't praise enough, they deserve a raise 😁 seriously though, customer service was impeccable, so friendly and helpful, the food...it was stunning 😍 plus fantastic background music, an absolute little gem! I will definitely be back ♥️♥️

Great welcome and a nice interior, feels a bit like you're stepping into a New Orleans diner, great music to vibe to.
We ordered the Soul with extra jalapeños  and tabasco sauce, The Combine with mac 'n' cheese, a mozzarella stick and 3 chicken tenders with Baby Ray's BBQ sauce.
Mouth watering and soul pleasing.
The mozzarella stick is a stealer along with the perfect Ray's BBQ sauce.
I'd say if you're totally famished, the Combine is your go for, my friend practically inhaled hers. While the Soul is an all taste buds pleasing choice if you don't like massive portions.

We had a great experience at Noi Quattro – we were a group of seven, and absolutely everyone was satisfied with the food. The pizzas were really well-made with a great consistency to the base, fresh ingredients, and loads of flavour. We tried a bit of everything on the menu and loved it all.

The Italian beer was also really nice – crisp and refreshing.

The staff were the cherry on top: super friendly, attentive, and welcoming.

Would definitely love to visit again – a brilliant spot for groups and anyone who appreciates proper pizza!🍕

We come to this restaurant every time we're back in Manchester. The previous couple of times, we went for lunch and the restaurant wasn't too busy.
We went for dinner this time on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was packed. Our food order was taken quickly but the food took a long time to come out. The appetizers were okay and the pizza was great as usual.

We will come back but probably during lunch time or a weekday when it's not as busy.

A group of us went here for food, the pizzas and starters were ok. However my partner found a long black hair in his Arancini balls, which he complained to them and they took it off the bill, when we came to pay they were quite rude about the fact we didn’t want to pay the service charge, which we then said, why would we when we found hair in the food & the men’s toilet had loads of cigarette butts in the sink & no hand wash in the bathrooms.
I’ll give an overall 2 star rating because some staff were ok at their job (apart from the red haired lady)& the starters were good.

Friendly and attentive staff, and we weren't waiting too long. The pizzas are delicious so no need to stray from the classics. A little empty when we went but we did go off-peak

We tried the Margarita pizza. The base is thin, as we like it... But the tomato sauce felt uncooked, the cheese had not melted..  I think the temperature of the oven is too hot and they take the pizza out when the base is about to burn, but the toppings have not had sufficient time to cook... Or the tomato sauce and cheese are both unsuitable.

Really lovely people, equally lovely food. Taco Tuesday is highly recommended but all the food we had was excellent and the stuff going to others looked amazing too.

I inadvertently ended up on the leader board just because it's hard to stop the tasty train (had I known I'd have gone for the top spot!)

I'm looking forward to another visit if I'm in Manchester again.

This is the best fried chicken restaurant we have visited. The chicken is perfectly succulent and tender without being greasy. The flavour and seasoning is perfect. We loved our dishes and the service we received was very friendly too.

The quality of the ingredients is very high and you can see the owners are passionate about food. Highly recommend this restaurant in the Northern Quarter.

The best fried chicken I've ever had! I had the Korean chicken burger with buffalo loaded fries, we also shared a portion of caesar wings. The portions were large and tasted incredible. The staff were friendly and attentive too, we will be back!

Went with my family without booking a table.  The gentleman was kind enough to seat us. The service was excellent, and the staff were very attentive. Drinks came out quick, and food was served very hot. Had signature chicken sandwich and burger with bacon, plus side of mac and cheese. All very good. Highly recommend, however, recommend booking in advance.

Absoloutly the BEST Tacos we have ever had, and some of the best chicken wings ever too.

We came here on a night out a couple of weeks ago and the tacos were amazing…. So good that me and my partner decided to go again, we decided to spend the night in Manchester last night but missed out as the kitchen had just closed when we got there…. We went today instead and it did not disappoint either, the staff were very friendly, the food was amazing and the atmosphere was awesome too

Gooey Bakery + Café

Quite possibly one of the best brunches I have had. Fresh light tumeric brioche topped generously with avocado and a perfect poached egg. Turmeric pickles and a nutty crumb providing texture and extra flavouring.
Chai latte was perfectly made with plenty of cinnamon - pleased that there was a rare decaffeinated version of latte.
All at a very good price for the generous portions and quality.
We also took away some delicious freshly baked desserts. A must try café - will be back.

Me and my wife come to Manchester to eat new food, we’ve been here a couple days and this has got to be the best place for service. The staff are helpful and so friendly! The rest of Manchester could learn a thing about service from them.
What also helps is that the food is amazing! The French toast and egg sandwich is just as good to eat as it is to look at.
Great way to end our trip before we head home.

Portions were giant. I ordered the beef pastrami sandwich (halal) and the french toast. Honestly struggled to finish it.

I found the sandwich to be a bit too salty for my liking. I would personally not order it again.

The French toast was tasty. Definitely a two people job. It was however slightly raw in the middle.

Would recommend to people who are looking to try it out

Mice and Burnt Sourdough…

They have raised the prices and the service is below average. The sourdough was burnt and was hard to cut. When we asked for a sharper knife to cut it, we were told only butterknives were the available cutlery and informed us quite snarkily that this was the nature of sourdough… we have been eating sourdough for years, our sourdough was burnt (even the replacement), and every other brunch place provides a sharper knife - namely Ezra and Gil across the street, Which we wish we had gone to. As we were about to leave a small mouse scuttles acrooss the cafe behind a fridge. We have been coming here since it opened in 2015 - wont be coming back again.

A good place for studying, with your laptop and access to WiFi. The staff are friendly.
The food options are limited and the French toast with bacon wasn’t up to taste, felt bland and heavy. wish there was something more like soft savoury buns or cinnamon rolls, for snacking during studying.
But great atmosphere for quiet learning.

Lovely place to have a great cup of coffee, staff are very very welcoming - full of smiles and respect, I felt as if I was a celebrity instead of a normal, albeit disabled, person. Facilities are excellent, staff brilliant and coffee out of this world!! Struggling to find fault.

Very spacious and reasonablly priced coffee shop with wonderful staff 👍👍. Had the luxury hot chocolate which was very well presented and tasted great for the price. Coffee club discount available too if you have one.
Overall would recommend!

Federal Cafe Bar

Having seen the reviews I looked forward to having a nice brunch after a long week. The staff were friendly enough but felt churned through. Tables are crammed in together so you can just about get passed and you’re practically part of the next tables conversation. The food was very basic - in presentation and flavour. Examples are the granola bar looked like something I could make at home - just thrown in a bowl. The eggs Benedict had a few leaves of raw Spanish and the sourdough was almost impossible to get through because it was hard and brittle. Seems like it maybe was something great but has lost its shine. I left to get my coffee and a dessert elsewhere. Also quite pricey for what I actually had. The £3 extra avocado wasn’t great quality and had no seasoning. I don’t recommend.

The best Turkish eggs this side of Istanbul!

Wow what a hidden gem, I'm not surprised it's won so many awards. Everything from the atmosphere to the staff to the place settings was friendly & welcoming & that's before we even get on to the food!

Delicious coffee, the Turkish eggs were creamy garlicky goodness, the matcha strawberry French toast was just the right blend of lightness sweetness & freshness.  Both were beautifully presented too.

If Manchester is the  foodie capital of the north, Federal is the foodie place of Manchester!

I love this place! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The baristas were incredibly helpful and the service was quick for such a busy place. I would recommend going with another person, but not people as the line can be quite long. However, I will say after wanting in line for 15-20 minutes, the baristas helped lift our moods by offering blondies and some incredible hot chocolate! When we were finally seated, Josh so kindly offered us a free French toast. It was absolutely delicious. I would 100% coming here and ordering the steak and eggs too!

Stumbled across this place yesterday on a solo date. Such a lovely atmosphere and every single staff member was so friendly, welcoming and kind.
Can’t remember the name of the girl that seated me, but she was so lovely and an amazing representation of what great customer service is.

I recently visited Federal Northern Quarter  and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I walked in, the vibe was so welcoming and full of positive energy. The aesthetics are on point and the food was just as impressive as the atmosphere. You can tell that the staff truly cares about the experience they offer, and everyone was so friendly and attentive. Sam was amazing from the moment we got there. He brought the vibes and the great energy and made us feel right at home. Keeping us company in the queue, he had a good laugh with us and the wait didn’t feel like anything at all with the lovely company. It’s the kind of place that just makes you feel good, and I can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a cozy, vibrant spot with great food and an even better atmosphere.

Food was good, quality,  portion size, as described and well prepared.

Fresh OJ was tasty, with Ice, but the glass was still warm from the dishwasher  .......

Cortado was spot on, good strength and tasty.

Some of the food is on the higher end of pricing, and changed my mind about what I ordered from a full breakfast to a sausage sandwich,  although I can't argue the quality and surroundings.

Visited today after an overnight stay in Manchester to see a concert. Took 3 young children with us. We were warmly welcomed and accommodated, despite having 2 prams! The food was delicious and the coffee was great too. I had the veggie breakfast with extra halloumi - everything was tasty and well presented. The service was excellent. It's a little on the pricier side, but this is to be expected given its location and quality of food and drinks. Would definitely visit again and would recommend.

Such a lovely find and brilliant place for brunch. We visited on a busy Saturday and were seated almost immediately. We went for 1 veggie breakfast and 1 brioche French toast to share between us and both were so delicious and filling- the portions are VERY generous. The iced matcha and latte were also lovely. We liked them so much we got them again for takeaway on the way out!

Had to go up to the counter and order and the queue was fairly long but service was quick once we ordered and all the servers are very friendly and helpful. Everyone is very attentive towards allergies and are great with checking in throughout the meal.

It’s a really cosy vibe inside with plenty of tables and delicious food. Definitely recommend visiting here.

First time visiting Ezra & Gil and was really impressed. The decor and atmosphere here and the staff are so helpful and friendly. When the food arrived it was visually impressive and even more so to eat. Definitely will come back here again.

My flatbread was pretty tough and there wasn’t much flavour in the food. They missed my coffee and I had to remind them twice to finally get my coffee. I’m also quite surprised that they don’t serve atleast halal chicken, especially in a city like Manchester which has a huge Muslim population. I asked to check if the chicken was halal and the server pulled quite a face when I asked?? Felt rude to me and quite dismissive.

Coffee tasted fine but not the best. Service was pretty bad in my experience.

Pizza had an excellent dough, excellent amount of sauce, excellent amount of cheese. You know that when u feel that ur sad it’s finished and you didn’t feel that it needs anything more.

Tiramisu was excellent as well, in pistachio it just needed to taste more pistachio, this doesn’t mean it needed extra cream, however, the cream itself when combined to all other ingredients needed to be more dominant of pistachio taste.

Overall, excellent pizza, will come back again for sure.

Amazing pizzas, we ordered the fried spinach ravioli (insane and so different) and 2 pizzas to share - la calabrese pepperoni (one with burrata on top) and polpettina. We took 1/2 home! Some of the best pizza I’ve had and so fresh. It was a Saturday night so very busy and had to wait a little however we didn’t mind as the drinks kept us going. 🫶🏼 we really wanted the tiramisu however they had run out :( definitely not a place to miss

Came here for our anniversary dinner and we definitely would come back. Service was friendly and quite fast, sometimes felt a bit rushed. Food was really good. Had a couple of garlic breads to start with and they were both super tasty. Then our pizze came and we couldn’t be happier about them. Well cooked, interesting ingredients. Amazing. Finished off with their special dessert, which was the perfect ending for the meal. Already recommending to many of my other fellow Italians. Definitely give it a go.

Black Milk

In the cold, wet rain of Manchester, we sought refuge in this Black Milk dessert shop. The ice cream flavours were delicious! Especially the pistachio! Cosy, warm, atmosphere and lovely staff. Open late so super convenient for when you’re randomly escaping the northern torrential weather.

The atmosphere here leaves much to be desired, and their understaffing issues led to several customers walking out. Although the pistachio milkshake was excellent and carefully made, I noticed pancakes and cookies were heated in a microwave. Hire more staff, and this place could truly shine! It has the potential to be amazing.

Came for a vegan birthday treat.
Girl at counter knew all the offerings and told me about them. Vanilla ice cream with Biscoff and Oreo. Tub or cone. Milkshakes. Oat milk coffee.
Nothing fancy. Modern.
Will be back.

Gaz was absolutely fantastic. I’m from the United States and have met plenty of baristas in both US and UK, and Gaz takes the coffee cake. Black Milk has wonderful cakes, bars, and sweets; along with lattes, espressos, and mochas. Look at this cookie cake with a scoop of gelato on top. Hats off and cheers to both Gaz and Black Milk. 🫡

I first had the Bing back in 2021 and haven't shut up about it since, live in London and this was the first time having it since the reopen.

Didn't disappoint. Still the best thing ever. Pure perfection. Love the new job and the style / vibe.

Went here for Lunch right as they opened, was already packed with people but the queue moved really quick and I got my food just as fast. Went for the Bing for my first time, what a sandwich. Fresh to death, full of meats and flavour in every bite. Will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu!

We stopped in on a Saturday at about 2pm for a long overdue taste of the hoagies here. We ordered The Bing and the Chicken Tender Sub. The menu is relatively simple and the production line is efficient even though it was busy. Regardless of whether you sit in or takeaway, they’re packaged up the same.

The blue cheese ranch on the chicken sub was certainly a highlight.

If the price feels high at first glance, consider from the photo the amount of fillings you get, and know that I actually got two meals out of my sandwich, and it held up well for a couple of hours in the fridge in the meantime.

Perfect to grab and go and eat in the sun somewhere.

Brilliant food and I’ll be back for the T shirt soon enough!

My only thought would be that I ended up heating my sub up and it enhanced it ten fold, might be something to consider!

My current verdict on Bada Bing is that they clearly make great sandwich’s. Although I waited a while which was understandable I believe they forgot my order, so I waited longer. Im going to try them out again soon and I’ll give a proper review with updates 😀. 🥪 food was good and it’s filling for sure.

Almost Famous NQ

I’ve been to Almost Famous NQ multiple times previously but this is the first time I’ve visited since it moved to the new location. It was a Saturday afternoon and very busy so we were unable to get a table inside, the weather wasn’t bad so we were happy to sit outside. Food has always been good although the prices have crept up a little since last time I visited. I ordered the Awesome HQ burger and Bacon Bacon Fries, the food arrived within 20-30 mins and was as nice as I remember. I would recommend this place and I’m looking forward to visiting again soon.

Fantastic spot for burgers and fries. Great menu with lots of options for all diners. The staff are accommodating and friendly. I had a mango margarita, Liberty Island burger, and winning fries. The food was so fresh and delicious. Definitely recommend this spot!

What a burger!! First time here and loved it. The Awesome HQ burger-2 patties, 2 tenders-all over ya face n dripping down ya hands filthy animal delicious. Could’ve ate two!! Bacon bacon loaded fries also canny. But the burger, did I mention the burger?! If you’re a fan of a filthy burger then this is your place. Thank me later.

I found a delicious handmade burger in the UK for the first time in a long time.

It tastes American, but British in size. The patty was a little overcooked, so it lacked juice, but it was good enough, and the vegetables and other ingredients inside are  fresh as well. Overall, the balance of the taste was excellent.

The fries I ordered together were mixed with potatoes and sweet potatoes, so I had a quite interesting and different taste.

Overall, it's a young-looking hip restaurant that offers quite satisfying burgers.

50% off burgers in January, what's not to like about it. Went for the Awesome HQ and a sharer portion of the bacon bacon fries ( more than enough for 2 people). Seated, served and fed in no time too. Definitely worth a visit!

A Nice Sip

I love their drinks. But had a bubble waffle yesterday that was soggy. I went back to ask if bubble waffles should be crispy. They have offered me a new one but explained it would be the same. They have explained the reason that the matcha bubble waffle was soggy it’s because I chose the matcha flavor. The original one or the one with the cheese will be more crispy.  Wouldn’t recommend this flavor as I was feeling like I was eating some moist dough.

I went there around 12.30 PM. As an Asian people who is always drink the bubble tea. I can say this place is one of the best bubble milk tea in Manchester. The bubble was really nice while the tea is not too sweet. Similar with Taiwan bubble milk tea i've ever had.

So disappointed. Been here for a few time and been my top choice for boba in Manchester. However I ordered 25% sugar today and got a fully sweetened milk-tea! It is so sweet. Moreover, the milk powder is not properly melted as seen in the picture!
Just awful. Waste of money. I’m so disappointed by the quality control! Avoid at all cost if you want a consistent taste milk tea. Disgusting!

Very authentic taste of tai wan bubble tea, the pearls are squishy and the tea is very nice. I was told they use original tai wan loose tea to make every cuppa.

A must every time I visited arndale!

One of the best bubble tea shops in town! Their tea is full of flavor, and the pearls are fresh and perfectly chewy.

Buzzing Atmosphere and Brilliant Breakfast at 19 Cafe Bar

Even at 9:00 am, 19 Cafe Bar was clearly the place to be – packed with people! While there was a bit of a wait for a table, let me tell you, it was absolutely worth it. I tucked into their full English breakfast, and it was a standout. Every element was cooked to perfection, from the succulent sausages to the wonderfully juicy bacon and perfectly runny eggs. The quality of the ingredients shone through, making it a truly satisfying start to the day.
To complement the hearty breakfast, I treated myself to their "Pick Me Up" Bloody Mary. It was expertly crafted, with a lovely balance of spice and a refreshing tomato base – the ideal savoury accompaniment.
Despite the morning rush, the atmosphere inside was lively and welcoming, and the staff remained efficient and friendly. It's clear why this spot is so popular!
If you find yourself at 19 Cafe Bar and there's a queue, take it as a good sign. The delicious full English breakfast and expertly made drinks like their Bloody Mary are well worth the brief wait. This is a place that understands how to do a proper breakfast right!

Visited the venue on a Sunday for brunch with my partner, we got seated within 10 minutes.
The coffee was fantastic and the staff were so friendly and attentive. We were visiting Manchester for the weekend, they asked where we were from & what we were in town for. All really lovely people.
The vibe was immaculate sitting outside, weren’t bothered by flies or any bugs.
The food, was out of this world. We both agreed possibly one of the best breakfasts we have ever had. Everything was perfect and we will be returning next time we are in town!

I recently tried the breakfast at 19 Café Bar. I had visited this café about six months ago and only tried their pancakes, but this time I had the full breakfast, and it was amazing! The sausages and eggs were especially delicious. I went on a weekend, so I had to wait around 45 minutes in the queue, but it was definitely worth it. Just keep the wait time in mind if you’re planning a visit. Overall, I think 19 Café Bar is a great option for both breakfast and a casual café experience.

Food was nice. Pancakes over faced my 13 year old, who has a sweet tooth. The Irish breakfast was good. and the French toast was gorgeous.

Welcomed with a smile by Taylor. I didnt feel rushed to choose what to order and got to decide where to sit. Interior is amazing and very original. I ordered the bacon pancakes and biscoff hot drink. Definitely cooked and made to perfection and the portion sizes are definitely a great value for money! The dedication and the eye to detail from the kitchen was a credit to this place and sets it apart from the rest. Had an enjoyable experience from start to finish. Thank you!

Bit of mixed feelings here. I really wanted to enjoy this place but had a strange experience. Prawns were absolutely delicious, Mac and cheese was okay, chicken wings and plantain were served stone cold…. The wings could have been delicious too!!
Staff weren’t too happy to see people… was hoping for a bit of soul but I felt a bit of a hindrance being there.

The food was nice and delicious, it's a very small restaurant so it's better to book ahead before going. The service was nice but our food took way too long to come out. Also I really wanted the jollof rice but it was not available at the time. At the end of our meal I was offered a plate of delicious jollof rice😘🤤 to take home on the house which is a very nice and thoughtful gesture 🙌 Overall it's a really lovely experience and I absolutely recommend.

YUM! The plantains can’t help but be the star of the show—- would’ve eaten a basket full. The mac and cheese is fabulous…. Prawns were my absolute favorite but had to try the lobster too. The wings were absolutely annihilated by my friend. You have to get to Soul & Surf!

Refreshingly different, relaxed and friendly dining experience.  Portions not as overpoweringly huge as at another soul food outlet I've tried but just about the right amount for the more standard range of boxes, didn't try the top of the range one.  We had salmon, prawns and various sides and found it all well cooked, tasty and nicely presented. I would recommend the gizzdodo in particular.  What stood out was the friendly service by the lovely chef (no dirty looks for wanting to drink tap water) and the waffles - we only shared a small side to try them but they were hands down the best waffles I've ever eaten, pure ecstasy!  I found myself planning my next visit and fantasizing about buying a waffle iron.  We will be back, ordering LARGE portions of waffles!!

This was an amazing place to eat. We went for an early lunch and the food did not disappoint. Brilliant price, so tasty and great portion as well. I am do sad I am missing their upcoming brunch event - I would have been there in a heart beat. we ordered  two daiquiris and zobos and two trays of the the Soul and Surf specials. Highly recommend. Also the music was A1 throughout our dining experience & such nice staff!

Situated in Manchesters secret garden me and my mum have been meaning to go for a while and it didn’t disappoint , Mala has great options and we had some delicious food and drink from wok bros who have only been there 3 month but fit right in

The place was decorated festive and enjoyed the live pianist that was playing , admired the dogs just littering round as its dog friendly too , with a variety of vendors under one roof perfect to please all

The ethos features Bringing the far east to the north west with oodles of noodles and big bold boxes with classic Asian sides! Perfect for lunch or an evening to relax and have a fab time

We tried a selection of dishes off the menu catering for every preference from veggie and meat offerings

I got the Pumpkin katsu that’s the vegan option That came with delicious veg chow mein noodles just like an authentic Chinese

Then shared some tasty sides and delicious dips such as the Salt + pepper Hash browns that were a highly and Veg Spring rolls

Firstly, the food took ages. It was cold when it arrived. The noodles are somehow really salty while at the same time being completely devoid of any flavour. The crispy beef strips are like something you’d give to a dog.

Wok Bros is a great place to try if you're new to Asian cuisine.

El Jefe Birria NORTHERN QUARTER

We ordered 2 beef birria tacos and a chicken birria enchilada.
They tasted ok but not birria. Had more of an Italian / bolognese taste than it did Mexican.
Birria dip was more of an oily watery gravy rather than a thick, meaty sauce.
Salsa was nice.
Also, enchiladas had way too many onions which were rather unnecessary.

Always worth a try but Quite disappointing really.

I had to wait a long time for my food about 20 minutes.  Was very very very good.  I know I said a lot of times, but it was.  Great flavours, great textures well done.  I will be back as it may have actually been worth the weight.

The food here is tasty and reasonably priced, but beware, they have a strict ordering online process from your table. This process is flawed in so many ways.  Firstly, they forgot part of the order. Secondly, if you order from different suppliers, say Mexican and Caribbean, the food doesn't arrive at the same time. Big discrepancies here. Lastly, apart from the drinks being eye-wateringly expensive (4 cans of IPA £26.00) the service from the bar is hopelessly slow. It's a bad experience here.

Wholesome Junkies is a vegan restaurant specialising is in "junk food" but with a high quality twist. This restaurant is found within Hinterland and can be found just under street level in the Northern Quarter. I visited with a non-vegan friend so it really was put to the test!
We both tried chicken burgers with different dressing and we were both very impressed. The fried chicken had an excellent blend of spices and the garnish on both were expertly delivered.
We also ordered the Fried Oyster Mushrooms. This was definitely a stretch for a non-vegan but landed extremely well. They were super crunchy and the flavourful batter really sold it. I could have just eaten a full portion of these for my main course!
Overall the food was delicious and was well worth the visit. I think the price point is slightly high given the menu is based around burgers and fries, but I will say that each thing I tried felt like there was an extra level of consideration and flavour to the dish. I would definitely advise visiting this restaurant and I convinced a friend that being vegan can still be super tasty 😁

Wholesome Junkies catered our 10 year anniversary and we had the best experience! The food was incredible! Everyone was so happy and commented about how delicious and unique the food was, but also how lovely, kind and interactive the team were. We loved everything and cannot recommend them enough. Great vegan junk food, very tasty. We went fairly early so it was a little quiet. That's not a problem for me.

The menu is full of family favourites. From burgers to tots they've got the lot.

They also have a full selection of non alcoholic drinks catering for everyone.

The setting is cute and intimate.

I will be back to try something different when I'm next over in Manchester.

Wholesome Junkies came highly recommended by online vegan influences and friends who have visited, and it did not  disappoint (other than the vegan-wings not being available). With one opportunity to eat in Manchester with a friend, this was the right choice! Friendly staff, really nice atmosphere, a nice variety of non-alcoholic beers/drinks and absolutely amazing food!
They have actually paper menus (rather than only a QR Code) which I really appreciate! Please never change this!
My friend and I shared a delicious (small sized) Mac and cheese which was actually perfect size for a shared side (quite big), a beautiful roasted squash on hummus (I think!), Korean tofu cubes, and the best vegan chicken burger I’ve ever had. It was perfect; crunchy, tasty, and not messy.
I had a wonderful experience here and would definitely recommend it as the top place to visit in Manchester and I really look forward to going back again asap with more friends!

Arrived mid afternoon and was fairly quiet but massively picked up. Lovely atmosphere, plenty of choices and friendly staff. Food was brought out quickly and I actually like how you pay at the bar beforehand so once you are finished, you don’t have to wait around.

This and That is an Indian cafe offering a variety of combo meals and snacks. The best part about this cafe is that it’s both budget-friendly and delicious. The ambience and service were decent, though nothing exceptional. I tried their rice, curry, and a snack, and was satisfied with the meal.

Hidden gem just around the corner from Manchester bus station. Amazing Indian food, friendly stuff and a lot of happy customers at all times a day. Been there on Friday around 6pm and did not wait at all.

The street looks shady but the food is great! Very cheap! 👌

So good! I had rice and three veg - they were all very tasty and can’t go wrong for £6! My partner enjoyed his meat curries. Two rice and three, a garlic naan, one samosa and two cans for £19.30! You’re not getting food this good anywhere else in town for that price! Just wish I’d been sooner. Can’t wait to come back. Really friendly staff! Other people were having chapati’s and mango lassi’s and they looked really good.

Great place. Down a little alley. Cheap and cheerful food. The curry is very mild. You're out of luck if you want hot and spicy.

For the price of the food you expect better but their is a huge lack of care in the food.
Wings and chicken in the burger came out cold! This is after waiting a bit (not long) for the food so you atleast expect it to come out hot and fresh.
Chicken tasted dry and some bits of the chicken and salad was hard to chew.

On top of that advertised was a spicy burger. If you're a place like that I expect the coating to be spicy. Not just dumped in some cheap hot sauce which it was. Same as the wings.

The frustration is you expect this kind of food at cheap chains but not a independent and with the kind of prices you are paying.

Absolutely a shambles of a place. They catfish people on Instagram with the way their food looks but once you're there it's utterly appalling. The chicken tasted like it had been cooked 2 days prior and tasted as dry as a lady who's not into you. Don't go, save your money!

The chicken and chips are quite a huge portion. The chicken is very flavorful and crispy. The Louisiana hot wings are a must try. Crispy and saucy, you have to get in there with your hands! Definitely worth multiple repeat visits.

Some of the best fried chicken in Manchester. Nice lads too!

Ordered the chicken cheese steak looking sandwich for 6.50 , not only was My order half the size of what the picture showed, the chicken was absolutely terrible and dry with 0 taste and drenched in sauce, the chips were soggy and the bread smelt out of date. Avoid

Salt & Pepper

Salt & Pepper serves a generous amount of food for each order. We got the Salt & Pepper Chicken, the Sticky Beef and the Honey Soy Beef. The flavouring for the different meat was on point - the Salt and Pepper Chicken nicely coated in a savoury batter, and has the taste of what salt and pepper batter would be in Asia, the Sticky Beef, albeit a little too vinegary, had a good amount of sauce and sesame over it, and the Honey Soy Beef satisfies the craving of those who wants something sweet and salty. However, out of the three dishes, we recommend the flank beef. It was less tough than the other two meat - after a while of chewing the chicken and sticky beef left our jaws a little locked and sore. Choose fries over rice - the fries were crispy and fluffy and soaks in the honey soy sauce well (it is what I would come back for). The rice... was not as aromatic as we hoped it would be. Loved the variety of sauces too.

I don’t usually post reviews, but I feel like I need to save lives here. Don’t fall for the hype. I ordered a bunch of stuff, and honestly? The prawns had so much batter I thought I was eating a deep-fried pillow, and the salt and pepper chicken was so dry it could’ve doubled as firewood. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. If you’re from Dublin, just know that Xian is running laps around this place.

Not exactly a cheap eat, but definitely full of flavour and variety. They’ve taken a classic favourite and elevated it with rich flavours and high-quality ingredients, creating a great range of delicious dishes. Highly recommend giving it a try!

Exceptional food. High quality. Tastes amazing. Perfect for those craving a Chinese quick fix. I had the wrap with s&p chicken and s&p fries wrapped with salad alongside some s&p hash browns and curry sauce. They have mastered the fusion of Chinese and British cuisine for modern palettes. Highly recommend (but note whilst it is not completely authentic, the food is delicious). Higher price point made up by high quality food and fast service and friendly customer service!

One of the best lunch spots in Manchester! It’s always busy but definitely worth the wait if there’s a queue. I went for the surf and turf this time with half rice and half chips. Such a good deal for £12.50 - you get three big prawns and steak and it all tastes amazing. They’ve also got a great selection of sauces to choose from at the front

GULF TEAHOUSE

I went here with my family as I was intrigued with the layout. Fortunately it was only us as the space is small and intimate. I liked the cushion seating which gave the atmosphere a Middle Eastern vibe.

When the food came I was pleasantly surprised with how filling the Arab Breakfast was; it was just right not too bloated and overly full.

The hummus, bread, falafel were all very tasty, freshly made, moist and fluffy.

We shared the Tiramisu and it was divine ! ♥️

Came in to do some work, had a pistachio tiramisu and coffee, both of which were delicious!

Great atmosphere, a lot of people come in here to work on computers or read so the atmosphere is generally peaceful. It can get busy for this reason though.

Also, I think this café is part of Mala now, so you can order food from the restaurants in Mala to your table, which offers great variety. It can get a bit loud at dinner times though since there's an open door between the two.

My only criticism is that the food can be expensive. Basic food/snack items are around £10. Though, since you can order from Mala you could buy from another restaurant. But it is a shame because I love the food that the teahouse itself offers.

Had one of the best experience for Arabian cuisine. Hummus was incredible and tea was properly prepared with taste and love.

The atmosphere was inviting and vibrant, setting the tone for a memorable evening. The food was absolutely delicious—each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Every bite was a treat, and it's clear that the chefs take great pride in their work. The menu offers a great variety, with something for everyone, and I appreciated the creative twists on classic dishes.

Rita's Reign

Rita’s Reign is my go-to - and for good reason. It’s always been fantastic value. Prices have gone up recently, like everywhere else, but it’s still good value for what you get.

The Large portion size is absolutely massive - enough to keep you full all day. The jerk chicken is outstanding: smoky, tender, and full of flavour. It comes smothered in a rich sauce that’s delicious, though on the salty side - worth noting if you're sensitive to salt.

You can choose between Jollof rice and rice ’n’ peas. Both are excellent: the Jollof brings a spicy kick, while the rice ’n’ peas is hearty and satisfying.

The jerk chicken is tastier than the curry goat, in my opinion.

Every meal is rounded out with fresh coleslaw and salad, which really balances the plate. More places should follow that lead.

Long lines are common, but move quickly - a short wait is worth it. Everything is halal. This place delivers.

i cannot spend a week without getting Rita’s jerk chicken…it’s always so delicious.  i like getting both jollof rice and the rice n peas :) get the plantains too! so nice. the queue can be long but don’t let that deter you from trying! cause the line usually moves quickly.

The guys in our Manchester office rave about Rita's, so when I paid my monthly visit they took me here.

I was not impressed. Jamaica is one of my favourite holiday locations, and I cook goat curry and jerk chicken at home. The fusion box of goat curry, Jerk chicken and rice and peas was bland and mild to say the least. I don't think it was authentic at all. I've certainly never had jerk that had no taste. Maybe this is Rita's British twist?

I won't be returning.

Rated 3 stars purely on the portion size, which was massive.

As always very friendly staff and excellent food. I went for the curry goat box with rice and peas and would highly recommend.

Great effort

I been a regular at Kool Runnings in chorlton which I still think is the best in flavour but Rita done a very good job , I have tried many carribean food across manchester and they usually very bland but it's decent here ,of course it would be better if they add even more seasoning like kool Running do .

I got a fusion mix box for £11 that has jollof rice , rice and peas , curry goat and boneless jerk chicken with tinybamountbof coleslaw and salad

Portion sizes are small they sell this mix fusion for £10 regular and large for £11 which really shpuld be called small and medium
They should do a big square tray and call that large.

Prices are on the high end

Overall I rate it 4 stars and it has potenial

Pull Up Bar Cafe

Me and my partner stumbled on this place when walking up the street. I am so glad we decided to go in! The food was fantastic - we ordered the hench box and the health box - it was authentic and quite simply, delicious. We had a wine and rum punch to drink - the rum punch was very good. The service was brilliant. The vibe was great. We loved everything about it. Even the decor and the music gives it such an upbeat feel! Also it was nice to meet you Sharon! Keep doing what you are doing in there :)

Very tasty food and friendly staff. The sauces were really delicious—sweet and perfectly spicy. I can warmly recommend this place!

I had such an amazing time in Manchester! Despite all the flight delays, I still managed to enjoy a few hours there. Since I missed out on trying jerk chicken and other UK dishes since I moved to France, my cousin recommended that I visit Pull Up. Even though I arrived pretty late, the staff, especially Auntie Sharon, was so welcoming and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious, and believe it or not, their caipirinha was even better than the ones back in Brazil!
I'm looking forward to the next visit!

Meokja!

Meokja is such a lovely spot! The owners are  sweet, & the service is real quick. There’s a seating area right in front, and it’s located in the south food court at Arndale. We ordered the garlic soy fried chicken and spicy gochujang chicken, and both were delicious- totally loved it! The food portion was just right for the money, and the sitting space was clean. It’s a lively place, and since it’s in Arndale, it’s really accessible to get there. They’ve got loads of vegan and vegetarian options too, which is awesome! I’d definitely recommend checking them out. 😋

Food is good but I think I’m spoiled with authentic Korean food I’ve had before in London, I find the bibimbap a bit flat in terms of flavour, only spicy. Good mix of vegetables and steak, but the steak is a bit tough to my liking. For the price, this is good food.

The gochujang chicken is crispy on the outside but chicken itself is a bit dry.

Rice here is well done, using the short sushi rice grain I like.

South side of the food court is a quieter than the other side, good atmosphere and tables to sit and eat.

We got the Japchae which was incredible. We devoured it. We also got the tteokbokki. It was nice but not spicy. However the staff who took our order was very rude, even audibly sighing when we requested to split the bill. Really made us sad because the food was delicious :(

Gimbap was very disappointing. The rice was hard, and the ingredients were bland.
If you just want a quick cheap eat, it's alright. Just don't expect authentic Korean food.

I had to pace myself because it was so hot lol but as soon as it cooled down enough I scoffed it.

I had the kimchi fried rice with chicken. The rice was spicy and the chicken was flavorful too. There was a perfect chicken to rice ratio. Looking forward to trying their other dishes next time

The most fabulous curry and service I have had in a long time. Perfect. These guys are extra special when it comes to authentic Pakistani food. Loved it so so much.  The price is fantastic for City Centre food.

Friendly staff and nice wholesome food. Keep in mind that it's a cafe and a down to earth place. For me that's a refreshing change.

Arriving on a Monday afternoon, I was aware they were nearing closing time. However, the warm and welcoming gentleman behind the counter graciously allowed me to dine in. I opted for the naan sandwich with chicken tikka and seekh kebab, and I was not disappointed. The freshly made naan was soft and flavorful, while the meats were expertly seasoned and grilled to perfection, boasting just the right amount of char from the tandoor. The accompanying fresh salad and the vibrant chilli and mint yogurt sauce elevated the sandwich to another level.

Despite the short time frame, the service was impeccable and the food was prepared swiftly. The generous portion size, all for a mere £7.50, is a testament to Kabana's fantastic value. Even with my rushed schedule, the staff thoughtfully packed my leftovers for my train journey, a thoughtful touch that I greatly appreciated.

This wasn't my first encounter with Kabana's culinary delights. On a previous visit with my partner, we delved into their curries, sampling the chicken and spinach and the lamb karahi (off the bone). Both were exceptional, ranking among the best curries I've enjoyed outside of India. The garlic naan, large enough to share, was equally impressive.

The price is reasonable and the portion is quite large. I’ve ordered a lamp chops. It was so tender and juicy, just tastes slightly burnt but overall is a 8/10. Both dishes are freshly cooked and served hot which tastes extra nice on a rainy day. ₊˚ ⋅ 𓐐𓎩 ‧₊˚ ⋅⋆◡̈

😟 While there's a sign indicating where to order, it seems like some customers still linger in front of the ordering area while waiting for their food. Perhaps a friendly reminder from the staff, in addition to the sign, could help to keep the flow moving efficiently

The corn dog was really nice. Love the taste. Both of the ladies were nice and polite as well.

It was amazing. Really gooey, lovely sauces, great value for money. Didn't want it to end. Highly recommend

The service was great and the food was super delicious! The hot dog bun was the best I've ever had. It was far more better than the other koren food in Piccadilly

The food was absolutely delicious, there was so many to pick from. The Tobbokki was lovely and hot, and the gochugung sauce was amazing. Only downsides are that it can take a little bit of they are busy and that there is no where to sit, but that is expected with where it is.
