Cockfosters, Enfield

A couple of years back (2017) I visited @skewdkitchen in Cockfosters, North London, a modern Turkish restaurant. On that visit I remember having a non meat dish and found it amazing, goats cheese with a honey glaze. So I actually decided to revisit and see if that dish still had the same memories and try some other dishses.

I tried to keep a balance of vegetarian and meat dishes, and ordered mainly starters.

Smashed eggplant £5.90
Pacancha (beef spring rolls) £7.90
Honey glazed goats cheese £8.90
Adana Kebab £15.50

Prices are on the higher side, but the venue aims for quality, which is reflected in the service and Decor

However, I was left a little underwheled with all the food. In particular the honey glazed goats cheese, it just wasn't anywhere as good as when I had it a few years back. All the other starters where simple and the cauilflower dish was very poor

I only got one main, the Adana, I know that this restaurant has the same executive chef as The Mantl, who's adana is excellent and at £15 for one kebeb I was expected something special, but it was rather basic, I didn't get any deep flavour from the lamb, cooked perfectly, but lacked in the flavour department

Total was £50 Inc service for 2 of us. Its not comparable to a traditional Turkish, but I was expecting for better

Covid status. All waiters wore masks correctly, hand sanitizer on entry, and screens between tables.

Absolutely outstanding dinner for two at Skewd Asia. The Peking duck with pancakes and hoisin sauce was simply amazing—perfectly cooked, rich, and full of flavour.

The cocktails were next level: Three Wishes with the flying carpet and Aladdin’s lamp was not just creative but genuinely magical 🍸✨.

We also had the tuna avocado roll and the vegetarian roll—both easily West End–level quality, beautifully presented and incredibly fresh.

Crab salad was rich and flavourful and the eggplant was delicious.

A truly memorable experience from food to drinks. Can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended. 🥢🔥

The place had such a lovely and romantic atmosphere. The staff were very polite and truly lovely. The food was delicious, but it was a bit pricey compared to typical Turkish dishes

Absolutely impressed by the atmosphere, service, food freshness, quality, and diversity — and most importantly, the wine selection and quality. It was my first visit, but definitely not the last.
The value for money was impeccable as well.

Consistently impressive — amazed by both the food quality and the service on my second visit.

This was a very enjoyable meal. The quality of food was excellent. Everything was well presented and the service was top notch.
The price of the meal was what I associated with central London, which I wasn’t expecting, but you do get a good meal and service.
I came for a quick meal before a long stroll in the park, so I didn’t want to eat too much. I have my eyes on the seafood dishes, which I hope to have a chance to come back for.

The meat was tender, full of flavour and had that lovely smoky finish, the rice was decent but the Adana kebab was the star of the show. What helped was the massive portion sizes which was well worth.
