Chicken tikkah Mac and cheese was amazing. It consists of 2 well marinated tenders on top of Mac and loaded with the minty sauce. The spicy smash burger was good, but next time I would request no mayo sauce (or only on the side). Definitely trying the Nashville sandwich and the chicken & waffles combo next. Definitely a top pick for Nashville style halal on Bedford Av.

When I entered the restaurant, there was no one at the counter. Three workers were outside talking, and I had to call them in for assistance. They came in with a bit of reluctance, which didn’t feel very welcoming. I ordered the Pataka Fries with chicken ($12), which turned out to be delicious, topped with a sweet sauce and served in a generous portion, perfect for one person. I also tried the Beef Smash Burger ($9); although it was quite small in size, it had a good flavor. The ambiance was pleasant and comfortable for dining. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would recommend visiting.

We ordered nashville and tikkaville burgers. They were delicious, I did want my food to finish actually. The personnel was very kind and helpful as well. We ordered smash burger for the kids without spice, pickles etc. and they ate all of it, even though it was just cheese and meat and we ordered another. Pataka fries has a special sauce with garlic and spices, it was addictive🥹 I will tell my friends about this place and certainly come here again.

Also they charged us for an extra grilled cheese sandwich and when we brought it up they said it would get fixed before they charged it but it didn't.

Food looked good, but 100% not worth

Really enjoyed this place!! The food was really yummy! The fries was warm but on the colder side when it was served to us and so when I told them about it they gladly made me a new fresh one and it was soo tasty with a nice crunch. The playlist was really good too lots of Charli xcx and Ariana Grande so good vibes. Really happy with everything we ordered and would be back the next time we are in the area.

Curry In Handi

This was my first time trying an Indian restaurant, and it was absolutely amazing! The food was incredibly delicious, and the flavors were so rich and authentic. We ordered Lamb Biryani, Lamb Chops, and Chicken Chili, and every dish was full of taste and perfectly cooked.

The Mango yogurt drink was especially delicious — sweet, creamy, and very refreshing!

The restaurant was clean with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, which made the experience even better. The staff were very friendly, patient, and helpful. They answered all our questions and guided us in choosing the dishes.

I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves delicious Indian spices and flavorful food. Definitely worth a visit!

l've visited NYC a few times and tried a lot of food spots, but this one is by far my favorite! ! came with friends and we all agreed - everything was amazing. The food was incredible, and the service was just as great.

I wanted a warming meal after a busy weekend and Curry in Handi did just that. The Daal Ka Shorba was gone before I could take a photo and the Lamb Biryani and garlic naan were incredible. I also tried the Smoking Mango Mocktail and it was such a treat. The service was impeccable and they gave me space as a solo diner while also offering light conversation. Absolutely would recommend!

Wow is all I can say. Don’t sleep on this spot!! Truly had a wonderful experience at lunch today! Decor is pretty and service is top-notch. We ordered the garlic naan, mango lassi, and chicken tikka and channa masala lunch specials. Everything was delicious! We came out for a new treat! Love Turkish food and we drove and pick this lovely place. I’ve always pasted this restaurant always seeing it packed. Just never thought to try it til last night(Sunday 1.11.25) the bread they brought out to us was amazing, soft and warm like it was freshly made for us, waiting til we sat. Then we had the cigar rolls (feta cheese with parsley rolled in phyllo dough) with a yogurt dip, amazing, good combo of salty and sour. The yogurt clams the salty but it is so yum! Then we shared the mix meats plate. The meats on the plate are cooked so good. You taste the grill fire on the edges. I never had lamb chops before and I can say I WILL be having them again! We got it with rice and salad. The host who sat us was pleasant. Didn’t talk much but was busy and attentive. The service was great to see working. Thank you for our dining experience!

One thing that will always stand out here is excellent service. They do great at accommodating us. The food was alright and the ambiance and lighting fixtures and decor. My waiter Yaz and Jacinto were excellent.

First time trying this place and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious and very fresh—especially the lahmacun. I went here for the very fisrt time on December 18th, 2025 for the Christmas dinner get together with my coworkers, and it was very pleasant experience 👌🏽 😊 I loved every bite I tried, and the service was top-notch 💯 I can see myself coming back 🤌🏾 because I don't even eat liver like that, and here,  I had more than 3 pieces!!!

The restaurant is located in the Midwood section of Brooklyn.  They prepare Turkish cuisine.  They have a nice variety of appetizers, entrees, desserts and beverages.  I ordered the ezme appetizer which was mildly spicy.  The chicken gyro and salmon shish kebob were tasty.  The islander kebob was in a platter with layers of lamb and yogurt on the side.  The pita breads were excellent.  The food was well-prepared and portions were generous.  Friendly and helpful staff.

Food was really great. I felt a bit authenticity of Istanbul. Price was really good and I love the food actually. Enough room for people to seat in there. And I like the way they decorated their meats, just like on a street or in a restuarant at Istanbul. Service was good too. I like the way they made it and it was quick other than the dishes takes longer time to cook. If you live around in Brooklyn, you must try it.

I got a chicken adana wrap, and my friend got a lamb adana wrap. They came with ranch dressing and tomato sauce dip on the side. Both were fresh and very tasty. I recommend them! Also got baklava and rice pudding for dessert. They were alright.

The experience at Istanbul Kebab House (Ave J) was a letdown from start to finish! The toilet is an absolute travesty—tiny beyond belief, forcing you to squeeze through the door sideways like a contortionist. It screams of sheer indifference to customer comfort, as if they begrudgingly slapped it together just to meet some legal requirement, checking off a box with the bare minimum effort. Inside, it’s a dreary, uninspired mess—cheap, tacky finishes and furniture that look like they were scavenged from a clearance sale. The shawarma? A measly 3 out of 5—bland and forgettable. For real flavor, nothing beats the legendary shawarma from Genatsvale in Brighton Beach; this place doesn’t even come close! Save your time and appetite for somewhere that actually cares.

Tried the Tom Yum soup and Khao Soi Curry. Both were good, with very deep flavors.
The highlight was definitely the ice cream. We got the flight. Our favorite flavor was the belgian chocolate brownie, followed by the salted caramel ans toaste coconut.  Thai coffee flavor was good, and the black sesame seaweed had mixed reviews.

The Pad Thai with shrimp was so good! Perfect portion, flavorful sauce, and not dry at all — just like real Thai street food. Still delicious even after taking it home. Don’t miss the ice cream — every flavor is amazing! 😋🍤🍨

Me and my best friend got the Pad See Yue and spicy noodles. Both were cooked very well. I would definitely recommend coming here, especially on a cold day. It’s really warm inside and the food really fills you up.

Please note that I only tried the lemongrass fried rice, Ube mascropone and Thai tea ice cream. The fried rice was very average, it didn't taste especially unique but also probably because i got the tofu and vegetable option. The tofu was chewy and grainy, hard to swallow. Most of the flavor came from the lime I squeezed. The peas were also a little raw (not sure if it's supposed to be like that). There were probably many better options on the menu to choose from but not this one and not with tofu and vegetables... the price depends on the meat or seafood option you want. The ice cream on the other hand, was really delicious and creamy. The flavor is subtle at first but the aftertaste is amazing. They had many other dessert and menu options that I would love to try in the future!

We only went for desserts, we got the triple thai tea combo which was good, the rice pudding which was solid, and the thai tea afogato which was ok, we waited a lot of time for the desserts. And we also took the special themed drink for halloween which was great

We ordered the famous “3 The Hard Way” to try all three classics: pastrami, brisket, and corned beef. Each one was stacked high on rye, and the flavors were incredible. The brisket had that perfect smoky edge, and the pastrami was full of spice and tenderness.

The food was too bad! Bread was hotdog’s potato bun. And still cold.  Not even toasted.  The steak was the driest, cheapest meat. Potion Very small. Definitely overcharged!! This sandwich $17!!!!! Worst one in NYC!!!!!

Window seat is nice when weather is good. Decided to try the sushi and we were very very impressed. Didn’t think a Turkish restaurant would get this right but they did. Amazing. Hazelnut ice cream was one of the best ice cream I had in a long time. Sheesha - hookah was good. Vibe is fun. Had a pleasant time. The bill had a service fee on it with a notation that this is not tip. That’s crazy. They charge 15% fee which is like a tip and then you have to tip on top of that? Took off one star for that.

Been here a number of times over the years. Most recently was for my niece's high school graduation dinner with family. The food was delicious- huge portions, definitely for sharing. The servers were attentive but not lurking. The view of the Bay was peaceful and beautiful. And we got them to bring out dessert for my niece to congratulate her and they had the perfect song all ready to go (Post Malone's Congratulations)!

Beautiful atmosphere to spend time with friends and family! Freshly cooked food; salads. Fishes are well done! Everything is must try!

Everything from reservation to dining were great experiences. Staff were courteous and pleasant. The food was delicious, the prices are very good for the amount and quality of the food. We went as a party of 5 and all were very happy about the food and the ambiance. Beautiful views of the bay. Will definitely go again!

Birdies Hot Chicken

Birdies is a legit little hole-in-the-wall fried chicken joint. The owner is a riot. A super friendly guy who goes out of his way to befriend customers and make genuine conversation.

The chicken itself is good. The owner has made a huge effort to ensure the quality and freshness of the food is noticeable. The slaw is great, the sauce is tasty, the bun is fluffy yet holds its shape. All around solid hot chicken sandwich.

I had the “hedium” spice level (between medium and hot), and it wasn’t too too spicy (though I am a self-proclaimed spice freak who eats habaneros raw).

Overall, Birdies a fun, funky, down-to-earth fried chicken/chicken sando shop that everyone who likes cooked poultry should try at least once. My recommendation: Start at Blinky’s, have two drinks, and walk to Birdies for a little alcohol absorption and tasty tipsy meal.

Just moved to the area, and have been looking for my go-to spot and I think I found it. The owner was super friendly and the food was incredible. Food is fast but also does not make you feel gross. I got the signature fries and am so happy I did, tiramisu was also amazing. $13 for the signature fries is an amazing deal.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had an amazing experience at Birdies Hot Chicken — this place absolutely delivers on flavor, quality, and vibe. From the moment I walked in, the energy was fun and casual, and the staff were warm, efficient, and clearly passionate about what they do.
I ordered the Bird in a Bun with medium spice, and wow — the chicken was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned perfectly so the heat built rather than overwhelmed. The soft brioche bun, crunchy pickles, and creamy slaw offered a great balance to the spice. Their Signature Fries — chopped chicken over fries with their special sauce — were next-level good (I could’ve eaten a whole tray!). To top it off, the shake (I went with vanilla Ferrero ) was rich, thick, and just the sweet contrast I needed.
If you’re a hot chicken fan or even if you just like bold, well-made comfort food — don’t sleep on Birdies. I’ll absolutely be back. Highly recommended!

Fantastic food, I got the signature fries and they were LOADED. The medium heat level was a little more mild than I expected but the flavor was insane. The owner was great too, very friendly and wanted to make sure everything was good. Also got a strawberry shake which was delicious. Highly recommend this place of you're in the area.

I can’t stop thinking about the meal I had here. The flavors were perfect, and the presentation was beautiful. The staff went above and beyond to make sure we had an amazing experience.

The Grounds Of Brooklyn

This hidden gem has become the go to spot for me and my seven year old son. We had the Pizza alla parmigiana, the margherita pizza, both were SOOOO delicious. On other occasions we tried the meatballs, the chicken parmigiana and salad. The mocktails are amazing as well. My favorite is the lychee mojito and my son loves the blue lagoon. The rose Martini was ok. George appears shy or timid, but he's super sweet and provides great service. My son never forgot his name. I highly recommend this place

George is just a chill dude 😅 what some would consider timid but he is good! He recommended great options and held great convo. I had the paperdelle pasta (great) and the cacio w/chicken parm on top (light, buttery and great). Also the rice balls for appetizers. 10/10 EVERYTHINGGGGG oh and the lychee mojito is a musttttttt.

The pizza, the seafood pasta, and burger was magnificent! It’s a great neighborhood restaurant. George is so kind, he convinced me to try the pizza and I’m happy he did.also mocktail was 10/10.

I just had my first lunch here today after seeing several post on social media about this place. It looks like right now they are still not doing indoor dining, which is fine. The little "pods" outside are super cute, clean and very warm. The food and service is really good as well. The only issue (which is not major) is that they don't serve any alcohol. The menu looks limited, but the prices are very reasonable. I will definitely be back again!

Great food. My daughter was in the mood for fettuccini alfredo with chicken. Although it's not on the menu, they still were able to make it for her.  We also had the lamb ravioli and the skirt steak. They were delicious. For an appetizer we had the chicken pizza. We tried their mocktails and they were very good. Service was outstanding.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Hidden Gem That Feels Like Home!

Listen I originally walked in just for cornbread. I was in the area, looked the place up on Google, and thought I'd give it a try. The moment I saw the food, I started yelling to my friends (we were visiting from Toronto Canada) asking if they wanted anything because WOW. Every single bite was worth it.

The food felt like it came straight from my Jamaican family’s kitchen homemade, flavorful, and full of love. That cornbread? Easily the best I've had in YEARS. No joke. I even bought two extra pieces to save for later... but ended up eating them because everything was just that good.

I was so impressed I told my other friends staying at a different hotel to make the trip this place is worth it. Amazing food, great vibes, and warm service. Go support them you won’t regret it! Look at my pictures food sweet me bod bod I almost forgot to take a picture I had to play it off like I didn't touch the food 😅

Ordered for pickup because it said delivery, 5 blocks away to my hotel, was too far.

Food was done on time, but the lamb chop was the only thing that came out as expected. The black eyed peas with rice were more like Caribbean rice and peas vs the traditional style. It was hard to discern if it was in fact salmon in the croquettes because it was overpowered by sweet mashed potatoes. The jollof was okay but the stuffing tasted like they used the leftover cornbread, it was so sweet it could have been dessert.

It was just totally not the style I expected when it said "soul" because we don't even have the words to say what was wrong with the green beans but I miss seasonings and flavor.

This is what they sold me for $16 out of my hard earned money. I just wanted a dinner meal not a plate full of oil, gravy. The meatloaf wasn’t even that grate, I bit into something in it. The whole experience was horrible. Rushed me to make an order and to choose.

Y’all don’t understand HOW GOOOOOOOD this food is! My new favorite work spot. The ribs and mac & cheese are a 100000/10 — you can taste the love in every bite!

This restaurant’s name speaks for itself-The Soul Spot- literally feeds your soul. Seldom do I come across a meal that feels like a hug to your soul. The smell alone made my mouth water! 10/10 from flavor to a HUGE portion size. The woman serving me was so sweet and explained every option to me.
Will be craving this place forever now!

I’ve been wanting to try this place for at least 7 years and I kept coming across it online in various features. I ended up in the area by chance, so I figured it was finally time to give it a try. I ordered a bunch of dishes to really give it a try based on waiter recommendations. The menu didn’t have some stuff I wanted to try. Someone else mentioned that they Chan the menu.

Unfortunately the food was generally bland and overly acidic (others have also mentioned this). It was hard to enjoy as a result. Though the kibbie was the best I’ve ever had and the lamb chops were good but ultimately a very small amount of meat (1/3 of them was extra tiny and there was a decent amount of fat for that cut) for more than $40. I would’ve preferred a cheaper cut and more of it.

The waiter raved about the hummus and babba, but  they were honestly mediocre and a bit sour. The Brussels sprouts could have been good if not for the excessive amount of acid. The eggplant and lamb lasagna was pretty bland. The eggplant seemed boiled though it looked a bit browned. The falafel were bland. The rice/noodle mixture was okay but I’ve had better. The potatoes were just okay though unseasoned. The tea seemed to be watered down.

The service was generally good, but there were some mishaps.

I was not told that I had to order dessert with the kitchen closing, so I did not get to try the kanafe that I was looking forward to trying.

I took the leftovers home to my husband and he agreed with my assessments (before I said anything). He had even more trouble with the high level of acid. I’ve been to Ayat/Albadawi (same owners/similar menu) several times and that was drastically better. There are people who like acidic food, so this could work for them. I might get the kibbie again, but that’s about it.

Most resturant reviews are about the food, service, and atmosphere, and rightfully so. But occassionally there is a restaurant that goes above and beyond. They realize the value of their relationship to the neighborhood and the community. Tanoreen is such a resturant. The food, service, and atmosphere are all exceptional. We do not live in NY but were visiting our kids that do. I was treating dinner for 7 of us. I did not realize that there is an automatic gratuity for that party size. I tipped $70 on top of the included $68 gratuity and did not realize it until the day after. When I called I was told the credit card billing was already submitted. They offered to refund the $70 in cash. However we were leaving and couldn't get back to the restaurant. They held the money in an envelope for my son to pick up a week later. Now that is customer service! Thank you!

This place was there on my list for a while and finally went there to celebrate my birthday. We drove down from Philly and called a few hours in advance and made the reservation. It was easy to find street parking. We were seated promptly and the food arrived quickly too. Food was good but not outstanding. Service was great and the owners were very warm. Definitely worth a try.

Just went for restaurant week and it was great! The food was delicious and plentiful. Loved the fried cauliflower. It was tender in the inside and crispy on the outside. The sauce was also very flavorful and creamy. I ordered the lamb shanks was tender and paired very well with the yogurt dip. Finished it off with the infamous kunefeh. Very cheesy, hearty and super filling. Ate a bit but had to take most of it home. Very large portions. Thumbs 👍

Other dishes that were great include the grilled meats, Fetti with extra harissa, and musakhan. Get the labne it's also so good! But the cocktails are not it - but really this is a Palestinian restaurant...they're not cocktail experts.

Black Nile Seafood & Soul Food

I’m extremely disappointed with the food on this visit. I ordered the fried chicken with seafood mac and cheese, seafood cornbread, broccoli, and garlic herb rice.
Unfortunately, most of the meal fell short. The rice was hard and undercooked, the broccoli was completely bland with no seasoning or flavor, and while the fried chicken had decent seasoning, it was very soggy. The seafood mac was the one highlight, it had good flavor but the “seafood cornbread” was definitely not as described. It was essentially just regular cornbread with Cajun butter on top, which felt misleading.
I genuinely wanted to like this,especially since we’d been looking forward to trying it for a while but for nearly $50, this just wasn’t worth it. Sadly, I won’t be returning. Order at your own risk.

A bit disappointing considering what positive things I had seen about this place on social media. The honey jerk chicken was super inconsistent; it was uncomfortably spicy for some bites, sweet and enjoyable for some bites, and completely bland in other parts. Most of it was dry. The rice under it didn’t seem too fresh. However, the mac and cheese and coconut yams were very good. Overall, the heart is there but the execution is not.

Really? And I did confirm with a call.  When I arrived there 8.15 they were already closed and boarded up. Bad business.
Actually when I called i did say I was coming by After work.  Nothing additional was explained. Actually I did  walk into a food pick up building where I saw 2 men talking and noone at the window. I even asked them but they didn't know. Im not confused. You should put clear signage about specific instructions. Since then I been calling and I guess you're even too busy to answer for your customers....

I love to support our black owned businesses. However this is not a walk-in restaurant as it appears on google it’s a virtual restaurant where they serve multiple restaurants and place your food in a locker, text you a code to get your food. I’m not a fan of this type of stuff. Secondly my bbq chicken had feathers On it still. My blueberry cornbread taste like coconut. The yams are made with coconut. The Mac and Cheese was oily and definitely not baked. The only thing I really enjoyed was the stuffing with gravy.

Food was very good. Would definitely eat from them again. A little mix up with the directions but more so Google maps fault. So just make sure to put 1140 Utica ave in your maps manually.

Milk And Honey Cafe

Had a lovely brunch at Milk & Honey Café! The French toast was absolutely amazing. We also tried the croissant sandwich, salmon Eggs Benedict, and the Habibi breakfast plate—solid 8/10. The Egyptian egg sandwiches had a bit too much spice for my taste, maybe a 6/10. The atmosphere is great, though! I do wish they had a kids’ menu.

I had such a wonderful experience here! The staff was incredibly welcoming and provided excellent service from start to finish. The food was delicious—fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. I have been to both locations & the atmosphere is amazing as well, with a cozy, relaxed vibe that makes you want to stay longer. Whether you’re grabbing coffee or sitting down for brunch, this place is a must-visit. I can’t wait to come back!

I’ve been here twice and always get the steak sandwich with roasted potatoes. It tasted absolutely delicious. The freshly squeezed juices always are on point. My only issues are that I don’t like that you have to get up your table to order and that for the type of food you are getting prices are extremely expensive in my opinion. I paid $40 for my sandwich and a juice. Overall, the atmosphere is nice and staff is very welcoming and friendly.

•	We chose this café because it looked very nice, clean, and elegant in the Google Maps photos. Unfortunately, the reality did not match the pictures.
•	The place was not well organized or very clean, which was disappointing.
•	We had friends visiting from another country and invited them here, but when we saw the atmosphere, we even thought about leaving. We decided to stay only because we were short on time.
•	The cashier gave us the menus and said we could sit anywhere and come back to the counter to order. There were six of us, so my husband took everyone’s order and went to pay at the counter.
•	The food came quickly, and it tasted good — thankfully! The food was halal, which we appreciated.
•	However, we had to go to the counter every time we wanted coffee or even water, and we had to pay separately each time.
•	Despite having many employees, no one paid attention to the tables. The service system and management really need improvement.
•	Prices were a bit high for the quality and service level.
•	Parking was also difficult. Even on a Sunday, we had to park quite far away on another street.
•	Around lunchtime, it became very crowded.

👉 The food was delicious, but overall, the experience was not comfortable.
Next time, I would only order takeout, not dine in. Still, thank you.

I stopped by Milk and Honey Café and absolutely loved it! The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for relaxing with a good coffee or brunch. The drinks were smooth and flavorful, and the food tasted so fresh, especially the toasts. The staff were warm and attentive, making the whole experience feel personal. It’s the kind of spot you’ll want to come back to again and again.
