I was genuinely disappointed with my recent experience at Efes Turkish Restaurant in Stepney Green. Unfortunately, both the service and the pricing left a very negative impression. We ordered the Efes Mini Special, priced at £72.95, which is extremely high compared to similar Turkish restaurants in the area. For that price, you would expect a full mixed platter that includes items like ribs or lamb chops. However, the platter we received contained only basic items and did not justify the premium price at all. It felt as though the restaurant was overcharging customers while providing far less value than expected. To make matters worse, an additional 10% service charge (£7.29) was added to the bill without our consent, bringing the total to £80.25. For a group of three people sharing one platter with limited variety, this pricing is unreasonable. The restaurant should review their portion sizes, menu descriptions, and pricing structure, and they should certainly be more transparent about optional service charges. No complaints for the staff. Overall, the experience did not meet expectations, and I felt that the value for money was extremely poor. I hope the management seriously considers improving both service quality and pricing fairness, especially when compared with other Turkish restaurants offering far better food and service for much more reasonable prices.

I normally don't rate 5 stars but this place deserves it purely based on the quality of food! The service was quick. The bread and the mini salad were delicious. The main dishes were beautiful - the Haloumi wrap was delicious!

Birthday celebrations in full swing....embarrassing parent moment, cake, singing and great food. The history of the restaurant speaks for itself. Worth a visit if you can.

Okay m atmosphere, not very busy at all, food is served quickly, the restaurant is clean, Turkish music and Ornaments all around. Staff are very friendly and happy to offer advice regarding the cuisine. Portions could be better, especially for the price. £12.50 for a main meal that is mediocre isn’t money well spent. the table and chairs are outdated , the menu is okay and nothing to write home about. The table mats and all consist of history of the owner and his journey with cuisine - this was a nice historical touch. Menu could be more adventurous, humour abs bread was nice, but more options would be great. People from all walks of life fine here, which is nice too. The major issue is parking at £13 an hour, only if you’re fortunate at finding a spot. The owner was in the restaurant , didn’t make much of an effort with the customers and only a few diners were eating in. The waiters served whatever they wanted to, and didn’t adhere to what the requests were.
