Fait Maison South Kensington

What an amazing venue and staff! I booked the private room for a 40th Birthday party and my gosh it was incredible. Liasing with the team before hand and being able to take the worry of organising the surprise. The food was exactly how I wanted, they organised a tea party with add ons and it was spectacular! Most importantly the servers and staff on the evening was absolutely amazing (unfortunately didnt get names) they made the evening more special. Thank you so much

Very disappointing experience at Fait Maison – Gloucester Road. I stood at the entrance for around 10 minutes waiting to be seated. There was a table clearly designated for staff to seat guests, yet no one was there. Several waiters walked past me without acknowledging me or asking if I needed a table. Eventually, I had to call a staff member and explain that I had been standing there for a while with no service. He then told me to sit at any table I wanted. I asked to sit outside, ordered my food, and the service remained poor throughout. When the bill arrived, I asked to remove the service charge, which is a normal and acceptable request in many restaurants in the UK when the service is unsatisfactory. I was told that it could not be removed due to “restaurant policy” and that even if I spoke to the manager, it would not be removed. I was basically forced to pay it. Honestly, this was one of the worst service experiences I’ve had. If the service had been good, I would have gladly paid the service charge, but it simply wasn’t deserved. Unfortunately, this restaurant does not deserve even one star 👎🏻
