It’s a nice place and the service was okay, but we were not really impressed. Maybe it’s because we came for breakfast. The ambiance is pleasant and cozy, but unfortunately, I have to give it 4 stars. This doesn’t mean I didn’t like the place — it’s good, but I wasn’t excited by it. But food was good

My son and I had such a lovely time. This sounds a little over the top, but it was the nicest dining experience of my life. The warm welcome, the wonderful staff, the ambience and food were 10/10. Thank you for a memorable experience. So good we did it twice. We dined two nights in a row, and can’t wait to return.

We had a great afternoon tea. The staff introduced what we were having when he brought us the food. The scones were amazing. Buttery and perfect match with the jam and clotted cream. The cheesecake was the best among all the homemade cakes. But the sandwiches did not amaze us. It tasted quite ordinary. The house blend tea is great, not too bitter and rich in tea flavor. Really good atmosphere. We had a really full afternoon tea here. Very good in price as well.

The place was buzzing, dimly lit. Staff professional. Unfortunately, my husband and I both chose the wrong main course. My husband had wild mushroom stroganoff, but wasn't told and wasn't expecting it go have chilli amongst the ingredients, so he couldn't eat much of it, although it was pertfectly cooked. I ordered filet beef stroganoff. Again, it had something like chilli in it and was nothing like any other beef stroganoff I have ever had, do I was very disappointed as I did not enjoy it. However, we both had traditional apple Strudel which was delicious. I ordered a Pimms, without finding it in the menu. Back home in the Colchester area restaurants a Pimms cost between £6-£9. The Delaunay charged £14.
