If you can only choose one cuisine in London, make it Indian. Kanishka by Atul Kochhar delivers creativity, distinctiveness, and truly memorable flavours you won’t easily anywhere else. Every dish—from the halibut to the scallops—is beautifully presented and expertly balanced. Desserts are exceptional, each leaving a lasting impression. Service is warm and attentive without the slightest hint of Michelin pretension. The only downside is how popular it is, so booking ahead is essential. An outstanding dining experience all around.

The location is also great, just off Regent Street. Chicken Tikka Pie: The staff kindly let us try it. The puff pastry on top was wonderfully fragrant, crispy but not greasy, and the filling inside was rich and flavorful. Tandoori Monkfish: This one was really well done. There was sauce at the bottom of the plate, and even eating the monkfish on its own, the seasoning was excellent! Jalpari Nilgiri: A must-try for scallop lovers! Three pieces per portion, beautifully tender in texture, enhanced with seaweed for extra flavor. Laal Maas: The portion of lamb was very generous. It’s seasoned with special Indian spices, giving it a nice spicy aroma. If you like rich sauces, you can even add more! 📍Kanishka by Atul Kochhar, 17–19 Maddox St, London W1S 2QH

London’s getting cold and grey, and honestly nothing beats a proper curry to lift the mood! Kanishka by Atul Kochhar hits that sweet spot, refined but not pretentious. Loved the warm lighting, beautiful art on the walls and the super friendly staff. Feels cosy but still special enough for a date night. Highlights for me: Chicken Tikka Pie (British pie meets Indian curry, genius!), Tandoori Monkfish and their signature Black Daal with that subtle smoky flavour. It’s run by a Michelin-starred chef, but still feels relaxed and welcoming.

I love the food, starters were great and was served by Roshan, who was excellent. The mains were good but felt the Daal was a little too sweet. The paneer was very nice and fresh. Dahi puri was ok. They also did a nice little cake for my Wife’s birthday which was a nice touch.

We had an amazing private dining experience at Kanishka. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and full of flavour. They had wonderful children’s menu options and thoughtfully catered for different dietary requirements, which made it perfect for everyone in our group. A huge thank you to Pankaj for his exceptional service. He was friendly, attentive, and made the meal truly special. Everything ran perfectly from start to finish. Highly recommend Kanishka for anyone looking for great food, a lovely atmosphere, and top class service!
