Ordered off seamless, waited almost two hours then called and they said my food is just sitting there because there’s no seamless delivery person to deliver it and he didn’t want to send his own instead. He refused to give a refund despite this. I call seamless and the restaurant says that they’ll deliver it, only to find that they never planned to and decided three hours later that they wanted ME TO PICK UP. For three hours they refused to deliver my food or give me a refund on simple spring rolls. Very annoying.

Looking for a way to sample great West African food in NYC? Or need a great introduction to African cuisine in NYC? Visit Keur Sokhna, a small Senegalese restaurant nestled in the heart of Harlem's small ethnic enclave of Little Senegal. While the name of Keur Sokhna is a bit intimidating (I probably don't pronounce it correctly and don't know what it means) especially for a newbie to African cuisine (this is a Senegalese food restaurant...not a country you hear of much), the food is surprisingly familiar. Lamb chops and tilapia anyone? The most interesting twist to the meal was a side of vermicelli pasta topped with sauteed onions! In fact, almost everything we ate was topped with the sauteed onion gravy and no one was complaining. Thirsty? Try Bissap, a popular Senegalese drink composed of hibiscus flower that resembles sweet tea with a hint of ginger. The ambience of the restaurant is subdued, the decor is on the darker side and it appears to be a small family run joint that's popular among Senegalese locals. And if the local Senegalese experts flock here, then you know it's good!

The service was absolutely horrible. I do not recommend. Upon eating at this restaurant with a friend, I found 2 pieces of hair in my food (I’d ordered the Senegalese Dibi Chicken). I asked the server to replace my meal, she got who I presume to be the restaurant owner from the back. He came to my table and accused me of lying about the hair, wagged his finger our in faces and proceeded to scream and shout saying “You people always do this. You people don’t want to pay so you do this.” I replied saying I had no problem paying for the food I would not however pay for food that I found two hairs in while I was eating. As I stood, he pushed me back down into my seat and locked the front door saying I would not leave the restaurant until I had paid. I proceeded to call the police who took about 25-30 minutes to arrive. After holding is in the store for 20 minutes, one of his servers unlocked the door and 5 minutes later, I received a phone call back because the police had arrived. We explained the dispute to the officers and the officers explained to the owner that he is under no circumstances allowed to lock patrons in his store. Nothing further could be done since he hadn’t harmed us or brandished a weapon. Stay. Away.
