A fully halal restaurant in Walthamstow serving up traditional cuisine from the Uyghur region of China. A very simple and cosy place from a husband and wife team. Be prepared to wait for food during busy periods. .

The noodle chicken chow mein had some crazy spicy that left a strange tingling sensation on my lips and tongue. .

Not your typical Chinese style food.

Etles Uyghur Restaurant

Absolutely delicious. Hand pulled noodles are amazing and the service is top notch.

The only issue was that they did not have some of the drinks listed on the menu, but that still doesn't affect my review.

The lamb dumplings were the best I've ever tried.

I'd recommend booking in advance as it gets quite busy for dinner time.

Came here based on positive reviews and an Instagram influencer. Got the chochure soup with "fiery" lamb dumplings but it wasn't spicy at all, just salty and heavily seasoned. Also ordered the Traditional leghman with lamb, which was very salty & oily. You can see the oil & how much sauce is left in the photo.

These two dishes came to £27.48 so it's not cheap as some reviewers claimed. I'll try other dishes if I come back here but I wouldn't order these two dishes again.

I want to carefully word my review as I do not want to cause any offence! Firstly I want to say the service was great and many thanks to the chef as he was able to customize the dish the way I wanted! Price was good for the area. Also the decor is beautiful and a lovely showcase of the culture and history of the Ugyhur community.
However overall we were not big fans of the food. We felt the hand pulled noodles used too much sichuan pepper and I could not enjoy any other flavours in the dish. The kung po chicken and the lamb samosa was okay. The honey cake for dessert was nice but also noted it was not made fresh. Given this is the first time we tried this cuisine, it is unclear whether this is how the general flavour profile is or our experience is specific to this dining establishment.

A truly life-changing meal.

The large chicken plate is a dish I’ll be thinking about for a very long time. And the spicy tofu, I want to eat again and again.

BYOB, which is a plus, and very economical if you’re going as a group.

I want to gatekeep this restaurant, but I also want to take everyone I know.

Had an awesome lunch. We tried 2 starters and a main and shared all 3. The amount was perfect for a lunch. The shredded potato was the highlight. Also the sauce with the dumplings. Will definitely go back and try some more another time. The service was calm, relaxed and friendly. We were about to ask for water and he brought some for us ☺️.

A halal sign is clearly visible on the premises of this restaurant.
