🇮🇩 Having lived in Indonesia for a collective 8+ years in the past, I’m especially a stickler for authenticity in my Indonesian cuisine - ie. the flavours and the spice MUST NOT be toned down to suit local palates, the eatery needs to be unapologetic of its authentic recipes and serve them as it would as if in Indonesia! 🍛 There are no shortages of “Indonesian” restaurants in Hong Kong 🇭🇰, especially in the Causeway Bay area.. and quite a handful have good 4+ ratings on Google. The devil is however in the details - ie. you want to pick the ones rated well and called out as “authentic” by what would appear to be Indonesian names, not those with local Hong Kong Chinese names (mine obviously excluded) 😁..“Warung Malang” is one of them! My go to spot whenever I have a craving for “Nasi Campur” where I get to pick from a selection of delicious dishes from Kari Ayam to Telor Balado, Cabe Ijo to Sayur Lodeh.. And their Rawon Sapi is also amazing! 😻 Note: BTW, don’t worry about the “Members Only” sign.. everyone is welcomed!

Visited many times already. Halal, authentic taste. Nasi campur is highly recommended - my non-Indonesian friends all loved it. Flavourful, spicy and affordable (50-100HKD per dish). Kind staff too. Located on the second floor, the entrance might be a bit hard to find at first. Worth visiting if you crave good, authentic Indonesian food.
