⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Worth Every Bite (and the Wait)! 😋 I went to Hoppers on 5th Street near Charing Cross, and oh my goodness; the food was absolutely delicious! 😍 I didn’t have a booking, so the wait time was around an hour, but they take your number and text you when your table’s ready; super handy! There are plenty of pubs and bars nearby, so it’s totally worth the wait : grab a drink, wander around, and come back when it’s time 🍸 We went for the £35 per person sharing menu, which turned out to be the best decision ever. It included a salad to start, two starters, and two curries (one per person). For the staples, you can choose between a hopper, dosa, or rice 🍛 We were a bit cheeky and asked to swap in the spicy cheese dosa and they kindly agreed for the same price! We also added the bone marrow for an extra £5, and oh my god 🤯 it was divine a generous portion, perfectly cooked, served with kothu paratha and another paratha on top. It honestly felt like a banquet for two. Every dish was bursting with flavour! The lamb curry was the standout rich, tender, and perfectly spiced. The chicken curry was okay but not as special. The kothu paratha was absolutely amazing too full of texture and taste. 🥘 The staff were warm, friendly, and attentive, and the lovely waitress recommended a cocktail that paired perfectly with the food 🍹 The place had such a welcoming, lively energy relaxed, cosy, and full of good vibes. I’ve been here before, and I’ll definitely be back again the food is so good it’s calling me back already! ✨

We came in without a reservation, started at the bar, and eased into the evening with a Paloma and the cheekily named Arrack Attack — built on Sri Lanka’s own arrack, a spirit distilled from coconut or toddy palm. From there, the namesake dishes took center stage. A hopper is not an insect (LOL, I am vegetarian) but a fermented rice-and-coconut crêpe, thin and bowl-shaped with crisp edges. Its counterpart, the string hopper, presses the same batter into delicate noodles. We had ours with kiri hodi, a coconut milk curry, alongside the house set of chutneys and sambols: coconut, tomato, pol (coconut sambol), and seeni (caramelised onion). Each brought a different register of spice, sweetness, or coolness — designed to be mixed, matched, and layered. The veg kothu parotta — flatbread chopped and wok-tossed with vegetables and heady Sri Lankan spices — stole the show, while a dosa added its crisp, savory bite. It’s easy to see why Hoppers has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand nod year after year: the food doesn’t chase novelty, it delivers consistency, character, and a rare taste of Sri Lanka in London.

Well that time the lamp meet , some of the pieces can't chewed. So the manager changed as to a chicken Kari. But also the pieces were included some signs of un perfect taking care. The hopper and the sauces was ok and tasty.
