I went to Fat Hippo for lunch today. I ordered the Oprah burger. It arrived barely warm with a tiny amount of each of the toppings and no onion ring (which apparently doesn’t come with the smaller size). I asked if I could have some cheese. The server agreed to get me cheese but for an additional cost. It arrived ten minutes later by which time my burger was cold. The server didn’t offer to heat anything up or melt the cheese on top. I was left eating a cold and not particularly nice burger with raw cheese. We paid £30 for two burgers which is a lot given the quality. I’ve had significantly better veggie burgers for £6. In addition, the upstairs of the restaurant had no atmosphere and the general service was pretty poor. There was no music on and there were staff members sitting around at the tables rather than customers.

overall the food was really good but quite pricey, i’d also recommend booking a table especially on the weekend as it was very busy. service was okay. id recommend the white buffalo burger :)

Overall, it was a very satisfying experience. They have decent portions for sides and burger however I think it was just a bit too greasy specifically the onion rings. I understand it’s burgers and chips so it’s expected to be oily and greasy but I find it a bit too much on the greasy side that it overpowered the flavor. I did struggle a bit to finish my food but it’s still quite enjoyable.

Great restaurant, food was excellent and plenty of choice. Gluten free available upon request and was delicious. Really friendly staff and excellent service.
