People talk about my local burger joint as if it’s something amazing, but yet again I have found another burger restaurant that could teach the beefy boys a lesson or two. I had the born slippy, frickles and onion rings, my god the portion sizes were huge, that you could easily share the frickles (fried pickles) and the onion rings. The burger was cooked perfectly and was still juicy without being fatty, and the flavours were matched so well, and the chips were fantastic, definitely worth visiting.

Had the best time at Fat Hippo! The food was so good, but the real star was Maia — she was absolutely lovely! Super kind, friendly, and just made the whole experience feel really special. You can tell she genuinely cares about her customers. Thanks for making our visit such a good one, Maia! 💕 Definitely coming back soon.

you don’t need my 5 stars when you already have so many but, credit where credit is due, amazing value. attentive staff. great food. a vibey setting. it’s an easy win for me. you know your lane and you do it well, and that’s all a restaurant needs to do to be considered amazing. provide good food, serve it well, don’t charge through the roof. it clearly pays off as if a restaurant is turning walk ins away, they are busy enough from bookings to keep things afloat. go if you can - with an empty stomach

We had such a great experience at Fat Hippo thanks to Maia! She was so friendly, kind, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. Her service was amazing – attentive without ever being overbearing – and she really made us feel comfortable and looked after. Maia’s warm personality and genuine care turned a good meal into a brilliant experience. Thank you for making our visit so enjoyable – we’ll definitely be back!
