Donostia Restaurant

Really enjoyed our dinner here. Sat by the counter to see the chef and his assistant manage to deliver delicious dishes from a small kitchen. Efficient service and delicious food. Some dishes are more generous than others, but I didn’t have complaints about the ones I ordered. The octopus was done just right and the squid ink risotto was very tasty. Don’t miss out on the Basque cheesecake. Five stars for me 👍

Nice Spanish restaurant in Marylebone, decoration is good for a tiny place, you can smell a bit of Spain since you step in, the service was really kind during all the dinner.  In terms of food, quality was good enough, being honest we were expecting more for the prices/ rates they have, the best plate was the dessert, home made cheese cake. Amazing. Rest of plates were normal in terms of taste/quantity. Consider 50£pp more or less including bottle of wine.

Excellent place to dine will be returning in the future. Rung up while walking to the business. To book a table last minute was able to fit us in. As was busy when we arrived. Only had bar seats as tables was all booked. But was happy with the bar as you could see what was being prepared and added to the experience and quick service. Good hospitality friendly staff who could advise on food. Said to the wife while there just need to be sat in Spain now by the beach at night. Will deffinetly be retuning and recommend

This restaurant serves top quality food, with the rest of the experience being really quite disappointing.
Experience:
The service was borderline adversarial at time, and we were almost booted out before being offered coffee (despite having the table for another 30 minutes). There was a general sense of unease created by the service. Much of the food had run out, even though we arrived at 7.15. Finally, the atmosphere is a little odd - there were regular sounds of crashing cutlery and crockery nearby.
Food:
The food is really lovely. We tried many of the tapas dishes and every single one was delicious. I don’t think I’ve had better Basque food in London. I would definitely return for the food. It was also a nice touch to bring out a birthday cheesecake for one of the members of our table.

In sum: great food, middling experience

Went to Donostia for dinner with a friend, after hearing great things about their Basque Cheesecake. We had an amazing experience overall. The staff was very attentive and friendly, the food was delicious and the cheesecake really did not disappoint - absolutely incredible! The two cocktails we tried were lovely too (one of which was new to the menu and I believe we were one of the first people to order it). Will definitely be visiting again soon!
