Im malaysian malay and its my first time dining at Roti King in Battersea. Ive been on a malaysian food adventures around London. I didnt have too much expectation since I know its very hard to get the authentic taste of back home. I ordered the char keuy teow I asked for extra spicy. Nasi lemak with ayam goreng rempah and roti canai with beef rendang and teh tarik. I was blown away by the rendang. The consistency and taste was very much like authentic malay rendang. They used the proper spices for malaysian rendang.its nice and spicy Dare say it reminded me like my mom's rendang. When I closed my eyes I can picture eating it during raya with ketupat or lemang. It was soo good. Best malaysian rendang ive had in london so far. If u like dry rendang like rendang tok. This may not be your cup of tea. But i like my rendang more like gravy ish or 'berkuah'. And the char keuy teow made me almost cry because it tastes exactly like how the mamak back home used to cook it n I missed that so much! Its not like ur Chinese style CKT but mamak style. So kuey teow goreng mamak more like. But it was perfect. The spicy and a bit wet like how it should be n char n smokiness. Most places make thr mistake of frying it till its super dry like chow mein. But here balanced Perfection. Nasi lemak was fragrant n the chicken was also good. Teh tarik is hard to replicate like back in kl. But this was very very close. I wasnt not disappointed at all. I ate there n was wrapped in warm spicy memories of back home n back at mamak . Service here was also superb! Atmosphere was nostalgic to restaurants back in kl. Well done guys! Keep it up! A very happy homesick malaysian.

Went with a group of friends and had an amazing time! The food was fantastic—flavorful, generous portions, and every dish we tried was mouth-watering. We sampled a variety of items, and everything was consistently delicious. The whole group enjoyed it, and the atmosphere made the experience even better. Highly recommend this place to anyone, and I’ll definitely be coming back!

London food is awesome - Roti King was another in the chain of superhits during our short stay here. Crowded, small - you may have to wait. We decided to opt for seating outside and that jumped the wait queue. Food is fast and tastes amazing. We loved everything - nasi lemak, mei goreng, nasi goreng, roti canai in chicken, beef, and dhal (dal). The drinks (mojito, margarita) are ok, better than nothing. Location is superbly convenient if you are taking the boat.

I try not to be critical with my food reviews. However for the amount of money you spend, I would be very selective with the dishes here. Best to observe what the other customers are ordering to facilitate your decision. The beef rendang I had was not authentic. Honestly tasted like curry/korma instead of beef rendang. Didn’t finish my food. The nasi goreng and roti telur isn’t bad; if you’re homesick. Saw other guests ordering the mee goreng mamak and kway teow. Customer service is good. Fast. Attentive. Probably this is the saving grace. Food-wise, it’s probably worth eating something non-malaysian for the same price. Or just avoid the beef rendang so as not to leave disappointed.
