Ate here last friday. Had the Chettinad Thali, which is a mix of different curries (Koli Melagu Varuval (chicken), Lamb Madras and some vegetable curries), with rice, bread, raita, etc. It has a lovely mix of milder and spicier curries and tasted really nice. Spotted a lot of local Indian people, which is a great sign in my opinion. Only slight downside is that it was quite noisy.

We walked past this place and decided to pop in for lunch. We were initially the only guest and another table came later. Service was good. I had the prawn curry which had a heavy tomato base that I wasn’t keen on. This wasn’t mentioned in the menu and I was a little disappointed as I had avoided another dish because it mentioned tomatoes in the description. My paratha was lovely. Restaurant clean and well presented.

(Please note this is a independent and unbiased review based on my personal experience alone and not sponsored of any sort) Have had this on my list for a while now. I wanted to try this restaurant based on the top Reviews rated in Google. So went here for a family lunch. Ambience: The ambience is simple yet cool reflecting the true Chettinad culture. Place is clean and again too small or massive just right in other words. Service: had only few people considering the people in there which made us wait for your turn to be served but no complaints other than that. Probably good to serve people with water before asking and it’s one of the important cultural habit of Tamil Nadu to serve water first when the guests are allowed to choose the menu. Food: 5 stars straight. The food tasted fresh, full of flavour and fantastic from the moment you taste it enjoying them all the way in. Portions were small but then it’s central London so that’s expected. I think if you are going in a group or as family platters were a good option in terms of selection and quantity. I am posting here photos from what we had to help you understand better. Party venue: Also, enquired this place for a work dinner and the menu sounded promising for the price and knowing the food tastes good. We didn’t end up booking here as our group size increased where this place wouldn’t fit anymore but otherwise if you are looking for places for small work gatherings in central London, definitely try ! The guy working here gave all necessary details clearly and patiently forgot his name else worth a mention. Thanks Chettinad for successfully bringing back the authentic taste of Chettinad in London!

This was a pleasant surprise! I had one of the yummiest lamb biriyanis ever. I was never a fan of the curry we used to get as a side in TN but theirs blew my mind away! They also had “walls chai” which I have never heard of before which seems to be a chai liqueur kind of like Baileys/ coffee liqueur! It was just awesome 🤩

If you’re missing a piece of south india, this is the place to be. Meen kolambu (fish curry) - really loved it ❤️. Poricha Meen - top notch. The fish thali was good as well, you gotta have a large appetite for what you get.
