Exceptional service. Our hostess Fatima was very kind, friendly and helpful. She offered choices, recommended sides and other things. We ordered We meat again platters with Afrikaana sauce and few drinks. We were served deep fried crispy okra with mango chutney as appetizer. Food took some time to come. The chicken was moist and very flavorful. So were lamp chops, prawns and meat. The drinks were chilled and yummy. The manager on duty/owner was also very kind. All in all great experience and great Halal spot in Ilford, London. Keep up the good work!!!

Food was decent and not too expensive. Good flavour on the mains although the steak was definitely a little tough and I was disappointed with the plantains that I ordered on the side and arrived very late. The service was a little slow with the server taking a very long time in between bringing each dish and some missing cutlery, but otherwise very friendly and polite. The atmosphere is also beautiful with lovely decor but unfortunately there were a lot of small flies where we were seated which was a bit off-putting.

From the moment I walked in, the customer service was exceptional - caring, friendly, and genuinely warm. The restaurant itself is spotless, with a cosy and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at ease. I ordered the chicken date and was so impressed. The brioche bun was toasted perfectly, the chicken was tender and cooked just right, and the coleslaw had the perfect tang to balance the flavours. The chips in their special sauce are honestly enough reason alone to come back. absolutely delicious. Overall, a wonderful dining experience. I’d highly recommend Afrikana Ilford and will definitely be returning.

I had an amazing experience at Africana Ilford! The food was absolutely busting with flavour — every bite was fresh, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. You can really taste the quality in each dish. What made the visit even better was the service. The man who served us was super friendly and genuinely funny, which added such a warm, personal touch to the meal. It felt like we were being hosted rather than just served. The ambiance of the restaurant was lovely and welcoming too — cozy, clean, and with a great vibe that made us feel right at home. Definitely a spot I’d recommend if you're after delicious food and good vibes!

Came here on a weekday for daughter's 21st, as we'd heard the food was nice. First impression very good, nice restaurant, decor. We ordered the we meet again platter and a side, for four people. Food looked great when it arrived. Chicken and wings were tasty and flavourful. Chips were nice and crispy. Could have done with more coleslaw, portion was tiny for a sharing platter. Jollof rice was nice too. The meat was not so great though. I love lamb chops, but these were tasteless and the steak was over cooked and incredibly tough, barely edible at all and we asked for them to done medium. I expected the loaded fries with pulled beef to be soft melt in the mouth beef, instead it consisted of long, tough, stringy meat. Didn't like at all. The Beauty and the Beast strawberry mocktail is a bit expensive at £7.45 but very nice. Come here for chicken only. They do offer 10%NHS discount at least.
