Staff is really helpful and friendly. Location is great, walking distance to attractions and nice dining . Hotel is bit outdated but clean, calm and secure. Restaurant area is pleasant, just stopped for drinks. It was a hot weekend for London standards and Hotel is not prepared, rooms are too hot, no AC and poor ventilation, windows are blocked to not open fully (security to avoid falls or jumps), so it was hot in the room. Besides i still think it was worth.

Do you know the horror movies where the hotel sign only partly works, and you know something wrong is going to happen there? That’s the Bedford: I got in late in the evening after a long day on the road. The receptionist told me they don’t have the room I booked and that they moved me to another hotel (half a km away). Therefore, they said, I should walk there, stay the night and come back the day after for the remainder of my stay. There were no other options, according to the receptionist and his two colleagues. When I came back the next morning I asked for a quiet room, having not slept much in the alternative hotel. I guess it’s their sense of humor, as they gave me a room above the main road. On the positive, they refunded me half the cost of the room for the previous night. The room itself was tiny, and everything looked old and\or cheap. So tiny that if the bathroom door is open, the sink isn’t accessible (have you guys not heard of sliding doors?). So tiny that only a single bed can be placed inside it. There is no ventilation or air conditioning in the room, so the options are either to open the window (more noise and pollution from the road below) or to have no fresh air. On the plus side, breakfast was reasonably good. I won’t be coming here again.

Perfectly ok for a business trip. On the downside the road is noisy and there is no aircon. The shower is over a bath with basic mixer tap. Rooms were clean and practical.
