This was my first Smashburger in America, and my expectations were exceeded after trying them in Dublin and Paris. They have a simple menu yet still, I decided to ask the manager for a recommendation. She playfully suggested the smash burger with Mac sauce, wrapped in lettuce, even teasing that it's her favorite but “I wouldn't choose it.” I saw it as a challenge and had to try it. The taste blew me away, each bite felt incredibly fresh, and it made me question the need for bread in a burger. The presentation may not look extraordinary, but the mouthfeel is the real star. I rate it 5/5 and highly recommend it!

Checked out the newly reopened Smashed — they just opened a bigger and better new location down the road from the original Smashed. They’re doing $12 lunch sets where you get a single Smashburger (a single cheeseburger), a huge serving of fries and a drink. The burger was okay - I felt like the smashed was overdone where it was a bit too crispy without the corresponding flavor. It’s not a competition but I preferred 7th Street as I felt they both taste similar, but Smashed lacks a certain flavor punch. The fries were really thin and crispy. I liked them, but would have also preferred more flavor on them. They were really generous with the portions so one is enough for a few people. The newly done renovations are good 😊 But felt slightly clinical!
