M8 Hot Pot

I’ve been to M8 Hotpot a few times now, and I’m always satisfied with the experience. They offer a great selection of vegetables, seafood, and meats, catering to all tastes. The staff is always friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. I also love their nice ice cream section – a perfect way to finish the meal. It’s a great place to catch up with friends or family, and I would definitely recommend it!

First time trying as it was recommended by a few people. I ordered the fish maw and chicken soup, really enjoyed it as all the meats and vegetables feel fresh. Although the menu isn’t as big as other places, it has enough variety of what I would usually get, which is nice.

I like how it’s individual hotpots, it means you don’t have to fight over what broth you want. They definitely provide enough meat for you in the first round to make you full and you can then choose less amounts as the round goes on, which really does help food wastage etc.

I think the additional stuff seems to be a bit pricey for what it is, so we didn’t order any of that.

I also liked how they had free ice cream and sesame balls at the end, which is a nice touch to finishing the meal.

Hotpot is a traditional Chinese dish so happy to discover that this place now has halal options as previously it didn't have which I found strange especially due to their location. It's situated above the Sakura restaurant upstairs. Upon arrival staff explained how it works. There's a fixed price for each person which is £30. You can choose by ticking on paper what meat and other food you want and some items helpfully have a photograph of the individual foods eg Chinese veg etc. They had halal chicken, beef and lamb. The meat is very thinly sliced so that it cooks quickly. There are a few sushi dishes which are included with the fixed fee. Once you choose your food and the soup Base they bring your own hotpot with mini burner for you to cook your own food. I went for a mushroom soup Base. They do top up your soup if needed. Overall a great meal. If you run out of food you can always order more. We went during the week so it wasn't too busy. They also have extra dishes such as dumplings which are not included in the fixed hotpot price.

Really good quality broths. They do have a great selection of food.  The veg and meat were super fresh. The staff are friendly and helpful. The sushi was also a plus. Delicious!
