This place was a great find! 8/10 Thaikhun in Union Square is so much more than just a restaurant; it’s an absolute experience! From the moment you step inside, the vibrant, rustic decor—complete with authentic Thai artifacts, dangling wires, and street signs—immediately transports you far away from Aberdeen and right onto the bustling streets of Bangkok. The atmosphere alone is worth the visit. The food truly lives up to the setting. Everything we tried was bursting with flavour and presented beautifully. I recommend to you sample all the best starters—the chicken satay and crispy spring rolls were particular highlights, especially with the rich peanut sauce. For mains, the Pad Thai was a perfect balance of sweet, sour, and savoury, served in an eye-catching way. The cocktails were also great!!

I visited your restaurant today for the first time, and I’m honestly shocked. There is a thick layer of dust on many pieces of furniture and decor, and it’s clear that it hasn’t been cleaned for a long time. There’s dust on the chandeliers, on the extractor fan — and all of it can easily fall into a customer’s plate. The sinks in the restroom are rusty. Does this even meet hygiene and sanitary standards?

Midweek lunch with my daughter. The service from Dasha was wonderful. She was polite, cheery and attentive but also gave us space to enjoy our meal. The food was delicious and flavoursome. The music was not too loud and you could have a normal conversation - bonus!

The food was visually appealing and tasted alright, but it wasn’t authentic Thai and lacked spice. Both the food and drinks were quite expensive. Nice atmosphere, clean space, and attentive staff. A decent experience overall, but not ideal if you're looking for genuine Thai cuisine or good value for money.

Loved the food and drink. Dasha was friendly and enthusiatic to welcome me. She kindly asked me the level of spiciness and suggested me drinks that I would enjoy and it turned out great. Enjoy it here every time. Thank you.
