I came here last month with a few of my friends for dinner. Lokma is widely considered a solid, high-energy dining spot that works best for groups and celebrations rather than quiet, intimate dinners. With a 4.5-star rating on Google, it is praised for its generous portions and "Instagrammable" decor, though service can occasionally be hit-or-miss. It is a particularly popular fixture in Bermondsey Square for its blend of traditional Turkish cuisine and modern nightlife vibes. The menu focuses on authentic Turkish charcoal grills and mezze, often served in large, shareable formats. The Mixed Grill Platter is frequently cited as the standout dish, offering a massive selection of chicken and lamb cuts that offer great value for groups. Reviewers often recommend the Lamb Hummus (topped with crispy lamb and pine nuts) and the Sea Bass for seafood lovers. The bar is well-regarded for its cocktails, including twists like the "Espres-Tahini" martini. Lokma leans heavily into a lively, party-like atmosphere, especially on weekends. Expect loud music and live entertainment. On Friday and Saturday nights, they often host belly dancers, turning the dinner service into a show. The interior features bold colors and plush velvet seating. There is also a popular outdoor terrace in the square and a designated shisha lounge, which adds to the social, late-night appeal. Service is the most divisive aspect of the restaurant. While many guests report friendly and attentive staff (with specific mentions of helpful waiters), a noticeable number of reviews cite disorganization or slow service during peak times. It is generally safer to book in advance and be patient during the busy weekend rush. While the restaurant had a well-publicized hygiene issue in 2022, it has since been re-inspected. As of July 2024, government data rates its hygiene standards as Good, indicating the past issues have been resolved. It is located right in Bermondsey Square, about a 10-15 minute walk from London Bridge station.

Came here with work colleagues on a week night and first impression it looked very nice and the welcoming staff were good! However when being taken to our table it was a bit of a nightmare as the dinning room was absolutely packed. It was uncomfortable walking pass brushing people whilst they’re eating. We got to our seat and hoped we didn’t need the toilet until we leave as it was back to back chairs in the isle way. We ordered mix grilled platter which was nice, but the atmosphere was very cramped and it became hot very quickly making it uncomfortable.

Beautiful Decor, Okaish Food, there are better turkish resturants ive been to. Manager came to take our order, didnt write it and didnt remember on top of her head, and brought wrong items. By the time i finished my food, my wifes food arrive. Only one guy was running around serving everyone called Asad, Manager herself was polite and soft spoken but was’nt interested in serving customers and was too busy on phone. Other staff was doing nothing and looking busy.

We had another great meal at Lokma. A family meal and enjoyed the whole grilled sea bass, the lamb kebab and the spinach, together with some great bread and sauces. We sat outside in Bermondsey square and Sarah welcomed us and gave us great service

Had a lunch. Virgin pina colada, meat and veggie mezze starter and adana lamb main, with Turkish tea and baklava tea. Was a group of 6. Avaz was excellent, and food was really tasty and nice ambience. One of the best adana kebabs I've had. the Turkish tea was tasty. Only reason for 4 / 5 for food was the meat meze could have had one more meat dish. Apart from that, everything else brilliant...and would recommend.
