Good Vegan Place, kind of hidden and hard to find. You got to go one level down from the street, small opening with stairs going down. Had to do 2 circles of the place as was looking for Wholesome Junkies signboard. Food was excellent. Ambience was calm and relaxed. Had to wait long for the food, but was worth it. Must visit Vegan place in Manchester, one of those.

Wholesome Junkies catered our 10 year anniversary and we had the best experience! The food was incredible! Everyone was so happy and commented about how delicious and unique the food was, but also how lovely, kind and interactive the team were. We loved everything and cannot recommend them enough. Thank you for making our day so special!

Wholesome Junkies is a vegan restaurant specialising is in "junk food" but with a high quality twist. This restaurant is found within Hinterland and can be found just under street level in the Northern Quarter. I visited with a non-vegan friend so it really was put to the test! We both tried chicken burgers with different dressing and we were both very impressed. The fried chicken had an excellent blend of spices and the garnish on both were expertly delivered. We also ordered the Fried Oyster Mushrooms. This was definitely a stretch for a non-vegan but landed extremely well. They were super crunchy and the flavourful batter really sold it. I could have just eaten a full portion of these for my main course! Overall the food was delicious and was well worth the visit. I think the price point is slightly high given the menu is based around burgers and fries, but I will say that each thing I tried felt like there was an extra level of consideration and flavour to the dish. I would definitely advise visiting this restaurant and I convinced a friend that being vegan can still be super tasty 😁

The food here is so so good, like every option sounded amazing. I tried 2 - the Kimchi Cheese Tots and the Korean Poppers. The Tots were unreal, so cheesy; a great amount of kimchi and sriracha mayo, and lots of them. The Poppers were good, not what I expected. I loved the flavours. I can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu. Most of my group got burgers and another had the ramen and everyone said it was amazing. My only issue was (and I know it was a Saturday so to expect everything being busier) but my friends were seated before me - I joined a queue to be seated and by the time I had got there they still hadn’t ordered. We were never told to order at the bar and it took along time for any server to notice this, it did take along time for food but again I do understand it was busy. I also found it slightly odd they had no alcoholic beverages. The space was cramped but decorated well. Prices were what you’d expect from a city 🥰
