Don't usually leave negative reviews. But I gave them a chance to reply on Instagram and they ignored my message. Went there a few years ago and it was nice. Went again this weekend and it was heaving. Ordered a 'Mum's Favourite' and was severely disappointed. "The best cheesecake in the country" they claim. In reality it's far from it. I was under the assumption that it was a San Sebastian cheesecake but as you can see from the biscuit base it wasn't. Even if I look past that, look how hard the base was, looks like it was frozen, defrosted and served. The middle of the cheesecake was so runny. The base just fell apart from the cheesecake in a lump. Sister in law visited the Rochdale branch and was so disappointed that she decided to make her own. Will never visit this place again. Im sure I wasn't the only one that got a frozen cheesecake.

Absolutely overhyped. Wouldn’t have it again to be honest. Milk chocolate was runny, probably just condensed milk. Frozen cheese cake, like it just came out the freezer. Poor customer service. 🤨 unless the theme of grumpy baker is; grumpy guys on the scene, milking your cheese cake up. Add up @dessertconfusion on instagram, the cheese cakes way better than these lot & for half the price! Bosh.

Location is poor, very busy side street but managed to find parking. It's a completely weird set-up, you knock on a door of an outbuilding/conservatory and then someone comes and takes your order.. You then wait outside in the cold till it's ready... just totally odd - didn't appear to have any curb service and it's CASH only. I got their famous cheesecake.. I've read other reviews being disappointed that they are defrosted. Mine was clearly defrosted but this made the cake a lot creamier (which I prefer) and I really enjoyed it. Sauces were generous and tasty. I would definitely go back and I am excited to try something different next time.

Unique setup, you order outside as its a tiny unit. Waffles were excellent. Only thing I would say is its the first place i've had waffles that didn't come with Ice Cream. Need to try the cheese cakes next time.

Desserts are OK. A bit expensive for the portions. I'd rather they don't increase portions but adjust the pricing. A lot of stuff is topped excessively with sauces. Cheesecakes are a bit creamy but perhaps that's the craze these days. You stand at the door and order. The street where the shop is, has no parking. It's next door to a barbers on one side where people smoke at the door. The other side has a butchers with an alley in between where bins are stored. I saw rats in the alley. This was after I had ordered. Can't see inside as they only open the door to take the order or pass the completed order. So can't really say what the level of hygiene inside is. A couple of staff members do really justify the name "grumpy". You would struggle to get a smile out of them. To top it all, it's cash only.
