What on earth has happened to this place? Went tonight, there was only us in-party of 4.
Waitress was miserable, place was freezing. That’s just to start.
Upgraded to dirty fries, they didn’t arrive. Instead we hit a plate of burnt plain fries. When we asked where our fries were, the chef came out and laughed and said he forgot.
2 of the party had chicken hanger-the veg on it was raw! The coleslaw had not been cut up properly with huge chunks of cabbage in it.
The side of mash was literally a couple of spoonfuls.
What you see in social media certainly isn’t what you get, wouldn’t be surprised if this place closes soon.
The owner was on site , he was not bothered. I’d have been embarrassed and ashamed to even let that food be sent out. Avoid!

Visited Smoke Yard for a lovely long lunch with a friend today and we both thoroughly enjoyed the food, which was delicious, fresh, and cooked very well. Our waiter Tom was incredibly attentive and did an amazing job looking after us. Would recommend!

This place is ok. A little hit and miss. Get the impression they've given up already. Four of us sat at a table laid for two, no additional cutlery was brought out, once food arrived we had to grab them from an adjacent table. Once seated we had to prompt that we'd like to order drinks straight away. We were never asked if we'd like any more drinks. The food. Macaroni balls had a lot of texture, we'd envisioned soft oozing centres but they were way more sturdy, they didn't taste too bad once you'd manage to break them down after a minute or so chewing. Chicken taco was alright. Couldn't pick them up though as they'd blobbed mayo on the outside of them. Burger, pretty good. Steak pictured went down well, no complaints there. Cash only... why? Just a bit sad really. Hope they keep going, get the card machine working and start paying attention to all the things, many of them small, that people pay for on an evening out.

Today was a semi decent day for the weather so I thought it would be nice to eat outside for dinner. Chose the buttermilk Chicken Burger which sounded great but as you can see from my photo, looks more like a chicken strip on a bun than an actual piece of chicken breast. Maybe it's the state of the world and supply issues but it's definitely not worth £13.25 the sauce for chips came like those little sachets you get from the kebab shops on union Street or Blackpool when you order fish and chips. the service by the woman was very good and you can tell she loves her job.

Arrived on Saturday 1pm, only 2 other people in, entrance door wide open as the place stunk of smoke already, sign at the door CASH only, not a biggie, cash machine 30 seconds walk but after speaking to a friend who had also visited in January looks like the 'broken' card terminal may be an ongoing thing.

On a photo the selection looks quite nice however don't be fooled, in real life what you really get is a selection of pre packaged food items advertised as home made, namely;

1. scones, they looked like morrisons value range with almost no clotted cream, and someone else had already prepared them...
2. Chocolate looking cake - 100% shop bought and there were empy packets on shelf round the back
3. Cheesecake OK but I doubt it was home made..
4. Cut up shop bought waffle with a bit of choc sauce
5. No berries despite being advertised on menu
6. Burger tasted AWFUL and was luke warm (questionable quality of meat, tasted like cheap frozen patty and charcoal)
7. Chicken sandwich ok but not enough chicken in both (we were party of 2),
8. Fries arrived luke warm and were not great, cheap frozen chips covered in Chinese five spice, hardly salt n pepper chips..
9. Onion rings - nothing to rate

Drinks wise - you either get a glass of basic lemonade with some red food colouring or 1 hot drink. We were very shocked as there are places where you get unlimited hot drinks w afternoon tea.

Service - young girl who was pleasant enough, but forgot to bring us plates and mid way through our experience rocked up with two teaspoons saying she forgot (again bearing in mind there
were only 2 other guests in).

Atmosphere - dingey, freezing (door open with 3 degrees C outside no heating throughout), cloud of smoke and smell of must, sticky floors, tired carpets, no warm water in bathroom, music volume kept going up and down.

We did not complain in person, however I did write an email with my views on the whole experience, pointing out their website shows very different information.
I was advised they do not have access to their website and they the 'New' menu has been out on their socials for a while - you're not thinking of people that do not use social media and really should make more effort to remove a website that is misleading.

Bottom line - Anyone debating going I STRONGLY RECOMMEND, THAT YOU SPEND YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE BECAUSE THIS PLACE IS NOT IT AND IT WAS NOT WORTH THE MONEY!
There are far far better places to eat around Oldham especially, afternoon tea especially.
