Fuego 1987

Fuego 1987 is located just outside of Kargo MKT in Quayside, Centre Bay. It has a small shop front that’s easy to miss if you’re not specifically looking for it. I ended up here after visiting another vendor in the market. I was craving Mexican food, and this was the only taco option available. Their menu looks extensive, but when I arrived, only one item was available, the Beef Birria Tacos. I was hoping for chicken or steak, but they had sold out. I went with the beef, and about five minutes later, the buzzer went off and my order was ready. Honestly, the food underwhelmed me. The flavours were extremely subtle, and the mozzarella cheese mellowed things out even more. It was messy (as expected with birria), but lacked the punchy spicy Mexican seasoning I was hoping for. Overall, the experience left me a bit disappointed due to the limited options and muted flavour. That said, I’m open to giving it another go if I’m back in the area and they have more menu items available. Price wise, it was £14 for three tacos which is a little pricey, but fairly standard for street food these days.
